Mr*** has contacted us regarding the fabric issue and "board" issue he has with his furnitureWe did send an Upholsterer, Mr***, to his residence and repaired the broken "brace" in his month old sofa - free of chargeAt that
time he was told by Mr*** that the pilling issue he is having is the nature of the fabric, and that he would let Smilin' Sam's knowHe did let us know, and we contacted Flexsteel Industries-the maker of the furniture and our sales repWe were told the same thing - characteristic of the fabricFlexsteel told us just this week that the fabric needs to be "shaved" and the problem would be correctedOne of our 20+ year employees has a Flexsteel sofa that did the same thingShe shaved it, I believe twice, and it has been fine sinceI fail to see how Smilin' Sam's is liable for the fabric put on a piece of furniture by a very reputable companyFlexsteel has a one year warranty on their fabrics, and this particular problem is not covered under their warranty, and Mr*** has been told thatThey've offered him a solution, but it's not what Mr*** wantsIf I bought a car at the local Ford dealer and something went wrong that was not covered by warranty with Ford, it is my responsibilityIf they tell me how to correct the problem and I don't want to be bothered with doing it, again that makes it my responsibilityI'm not sure the dealership would or should be responsible with reimbursing me the purchase price of the car or give me a new one....a little larger scale, but same principalI appreciate your notification of filing, and if there is anything further you require or need from us please let me knowThank you and have a great day!
