On July 13th we started a small remodel job with the customer to raise the ceiling and build a gable roof on the lake side of her homeWe finished that job on August 7th When we finished the owner was very pleased with our work and
the process
We were paid: $on 7-13; $on 7-24; and on 7-
She then requested we start an addition to the road side of her home cost estimated at about $35,
She paid us an $18,deposit this work was to be billed at cost plus
As we started this project we ran into zoning issues which we could not get resolved so we stopped it and changed to a small interior remodel projectThis project started about 11-2-and finished on 1-12-
We really did not have any issues until we had a rain and the roof leakedWe went up and worked on it and thought it was resolvedLater it rained again and we had a leakWe had another Roofing contractor help us to find it and repaired it againLater it rained again and it leakedThe roofing contractor believes it was leaking above our work and was not in our work area
So our problems seem to be not responding to her request
#1) We started the first project and finished it in record time and all was wellWe had no issues and we were her favorite crews
#2) the Roof colorI was told when we were working on the second project that she had noticed the shingles did not match exactWe were told she had bought them at a local Yard so we went thereThey did not have them and they gave us what was the closet matchI did not know this until she noticed itI said we would replace them if she wanted when we did the new additionwhich we did not end up doingLater after we had the leaks and we offered to replace all of them she said she wanted to call her roofer from St Louis
#3) The Sliding doorWe were told after she was mad at us that the door was out of squareWe checked it and it was a 1/4" outThese are vinyl doors and that is not bad at allThe screen was repaired
#4) Note the time lines on her notes are not soI was told about the shingles much later in the process with a "I'm not sure if I want to replace" comment so we waitedThe amount of water was very little and mold could not have developed that fastWe dealt with a major water issue the first time we were there as a change order because it was so bad
#5) She asked for a credit of $which I gave her even though I would have repaired it myself
I can not say we did not have any issues with the job through communication error and we had record rains this fallShe told me with in a week of being done that my men did a great job, then I got blasted on Facebook, Revdex.com, locallyI received a text message on a Saturday morning while I was driving in a storm out of stateI asked my main guy to call her and see what was upShe went on Facebook and said I would not return her call even though I did through him and it was within hours the same morning
I have been in the building Business for 40+ yearsI have NEVER been turned in to anyone for bad service or not finishing or taking care of a problemI am still hereI did not know she was even upset after I paid her until I received notice she was blasting me again
I did what she wanted and I left when she was not happy and I gave her the credit she asked for to finish items herselfI do not know how to please her at all
