RE: You have a New Message from Revdex.com Regarding Complaint #[redacted]
The house was built in 2011, it was not built to code Campbell County requires all crawl spaces meet one of the following codes:
R408.1 Ventilation (vented to the outside)R408.2 Opening for under floor ventilationR408.03 Unvented crawl space (requires vapor barrier)There has been on going issues with the crawl space, the insulation was sweating and had to be replaced (2011).  Venting was installed in 2014, long after multiple complaints to Smith Construction. Mold was found on the inside of the house in the spare bedroom and game room (2013), Smith Construction was notified and nothing was done.January 2015, [redacted] (my husband) became ill and the doctors could not figure it out so they ask us to test our house.March, 2015, the house was tested for mold and radon, the living space only.  Both levels were high, but the testing company told us, it wasn't too bad to do anything about.  I also called Terry Smith on March 5th to try and get him to do something with the crawl space.September 2015, my husband has been ill since January so we had the house tested again.  The levels in the crawl space with 22,000/m3, with this kind of levels of mold it will cause health issues.  Terry was contacted and he blamed the landscaper.  I tried several other times to contact Terry.  He spoke with my husband and failed to show up for three different meetings.I had a quote from [redacted] for $13,896.00 to remediate the mold issue.  They indicated the mold was from improper ventilation.  I spoke with [redacted] from [redacted] and he told me the grading was poorly done by Smith Construction and he added more slope away from the house during the job.  I also spoke to an independent contractor who told me the landscaping was not the issue, improper ventilation was the issue.  Dr. [redacted]'s pulmonary doctor), told us his condition was caused by excessive mold.  All of these individuals will back up all of the information I have provide.I would like Smith Construction to pay for the mold remediation.  It does not have to be [redacted], but it does have to be a certified mold remover.  I would add that we have incurred nearly $5000 in medical bills on [redacted] due to this mold issue and I would like Smith Construction to pay for all of these out of pocket expenses.  These expenses are after the insurance payments.
