If you will review my initial response you will see that your shuttle charge is a tariff based charge based on the weight of your shipment.  "Milking the clock" has nothing to do with the charge.  No matter how long or how quickly the service is performed, the charge is the same.  Secondly' with regards to the size of the truck, [redacted] had no idea what size truck would be used for your move.  We only know when you want it delivered and it is dispatched on whatever truck is available and going that way that meets the delivery spread we have in place.

Sorry for the delay in responding but the original complaint was sent to Asheville Revdex.com.  I have attached our signed Estimate and Order for Service paperwork on this move for your review.  This was a bound estimate as [redacted] has indicated.  Please note the highlighted area...

noting that "additional services required due to impracticable operations", such as destination shuttle service, are not covered under this binding price.  [redacted] feels we should have had the local agent check out the destination, but he also admits that her told my salesperson that" there were tractor trailers that have been in the community".   The call on a shuttle is ultimately made by the Van Operator delivering the shipment, not a local agent at destination.  In this case, he only made the decision after several attempts to get in.  The shuttle charge is a tariff charge based on the weight of the shipment.   It is not based on how far away a truck rental office can be found or how long it takes to perform the service.  I can assure you nobody wants a shuttle as it is very time consuming.  We must disagree with [redacted]s contention that this expense should not be paid. 100% of this charge goes to the Van operator making the delivery.  [redacted] does not take into account that the Van Operator has men on the clock that he has to pay while he is setting up this shuttle service and that the performance of the service makes the delivery take more time, again increasing the Van Operators labor charges.

[redacted]Dear [redacted] I just received the response from Smith Dray and they still are not really giving a response to my complaint. Part of My complaint is they milked the clock. The drive to pick up the shuttle is only 8 minutes from my house they where gone an 1 and half. It too them 1 hour to transfer my goods.I also want to address the fact that I am not a professional mover and it was never explained that my stuff would be placed on the largest truck they have. The next size down would have fit into the complex and even the driver said this. As far as I'm concerned Smith Drey are side steping the response. They didn't research what size truck could fit and they milked their time with the shuttle.
