Smith Mankins Nissan Reviews (%countItem)

Any customer should not be pressured into entering any contract, knowing they will not be able to fulfill.
Back in February or March I purchased a 2016 Nissan Frontier from, *** a salesman on the used car side of ***. Around August 15, 2017, I made an inquiry online about a used Nissan Armada. *** sent me a text, and asked what I was looking for and he had moved over to internet sales. On August 29, 2017 I received a text from *** asking when I could come by and see what they had. I told him I could come by the next day, Wednesday, August 30, 2017. He showed me several trucks and a SUV. I told him I wasn't in a hurry to trade yet. I was getting ready to leave and he came out to the truck and asked if I could give him five more minutes, which turned into almost two hours, his boss, *** was running the numbers again. *** then took over the sale. He made an offer of $985 a month on a Nissan Titan, which was one of the trucks I told *** I couldn't do because of the light colored interior and I didn't want that color of exterior. I told him I couldn't do 985 a month. He then scoffed and said he could take 5 off and throw in a free hat. I told him again I couldn't do 980, so he came down to 951 a month and two thousand down. Being tired from working from 5am I was agreed to take it just to get out of there and go home, it was almost 10pm when I left. I signed the paperwork on August, 30 2017 and returned the 2017 Nissan Titan and hand delivered the keys to *** on September 1, 2017. On September 6, 2017, I contacted Nissan Motor Acceptance about the contract. They said that since I had the Titan only 2 days, the dealership, *** Nissan could agree to resend the contract. On September 6, 2017 I received a text from the online sales manager, stating that Texas doesn't have a cooling off period and it will be considered a repossession and can also file charges against me for the two thousand dollars for the down payment I haven't given them.

Desired Outcome

I understand the 2016 Nissan Frontier will be considered a repossession and will be reported on my credit history, but I would ask that the 2017 Nissan Titan be removed from my credit report.

purchased a NEW MAGNETIC 2017 NISSAN TITAN PK on August 30, 2017. We took very good care of this customer especially being that they were a previous customer. Mr. signed a contract and seemed to be very pleased and liked the deal that he received on this Titan. Customer come back the following Monday and brought the Titan in to get cleaned and once it was completed the customer was called and informed the truck was ready to be picked up and at that time is when our dealership was informed that he no longer wanted the Titan. The customer was told that there was no cooling off period and that there was a signed contract on the deal that was to protect the customer as well as the dealership. The contract had already been sent into the NMAC and they had already funded the contract and the customers Nissan Frontier that he had traded in had already been paid off by the dealership as well.

First of all I told *** and *** both I couldn't have a light colored cloth seats with being a diesel engine mechanic and having a 2 year old grandson. *** suggested I buy seat covers. If I'm going to pay 60,000 dollars on a vehicle it should be one I want. Second,it wasn't Monday when I dropped off the Titan truck. It was Labor Day weekend and on Monday I was still in Beavers Bend in Oklahoma with family and friends. I dropped off the keys with *** on Friday afternoon before leaving town and also have a text message from *** dated and time stamped from Friday, September 1, 2017 about the truck. Third, as of today September 16, 2017, Chase Auto Finance still shows a balance of 30,189.59 on the Nissan Frontier that has not been paid.

Unfortunately, Pete Mankins Inc. has nothing to do with the reporting through the credit agency. That is between the customer and the lender who financed the car. We have an agreement with our contractors and we use a tool called e-contracting. Once the vehicle has been signed by the customer everything is submitted electronically and within 24 hours the vehicle and car deal is funded by the lender. Once the car has been funded by the lender, we at Pete Mankins no longer have any control over what happens between the vehicle and lender at this point.

On September X XXXX, I talked with customer service at Nissan Motor Acceptance. The lady told me that since I only had the Titan two days the dealership, Pete Mankins Nissan, could rescind the contract if they chose to and it would reflect that on my credit history.

On 6/23/2017 my husband and I purchased a 2017 Nissan Frontier from Pete Mankin's Nissan. We were asked to put down $2,000 in the form of two checks, both at $1,000 each, which were to be deposited on 7/31/2017 and 8/31/2017. On 7/5/17 the first check was deposited which was rejected and we were hit with an insufficient fee from our bank. The dealership did however refund us the $35.00 fee. The first check was resubmitted on 8/11, 11 days past the due date set out in the contract. On 8/22/2017 we received a certified letter stating that because the check that was deposited on 7/5/17 came back they were now demanding the full amount of $2,000 within 10 days of receiving the letter, otherwise we would be turned over to the Attorney Generals office. After calling the dealership Ms.Ruth Dye (Secretary Treasury) admitted they had made a mistake and had not read the notes included in the contract. She did say she had an office assistant type up the letter, without first checking to make sure the information was accurate.
We were also advised at the time of purchase that because we currently had handicapped licence plates on the vehicle we were trading in that it would be a simple application from the dealership to have them replaced for the new vehicle. When we went to the Tag agency we were advised that it couldn't be done as I wasn't included on the title of ownership of the vehicle.
Product_Or_Service: 2017 Nissan Frontier

Desired Outcome

Store Credit We feel a store credit for the installation of a hitch would be sufficient to cover this mess of a headache. I certainly will never recommend this company to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle, it's been nothing but mistakes from start to finish.

Smith Mankins Nissan Response

Customer *** purchased a NEW BRILLIANT 2017 NISSAN FRONTIER PK from Pete Mankins Inc. on June 22, 2017. The customer had a $2,000 down payment and agreed to pay $1,000 on July 31 and another $1,000 on Aug 31. However, when the deal made it to the accounting office the date was mistaken for June instead of July and the check did get deposited. On July 11, the customer contacted our office and said that the check got deposited and it was too early. We apologized to the customer for the inconvenience and even refunded her the $35 NSF fee with check number XXXXX. The customer come in and said she understood and brought a replacement check to the finance office and we have it in our bag. As policy, a NSF letter was sent out to the customer for the check, which is company policy but by this time we have everything cleared up. The first payment of $1,000 did get deposited on the 31 or July, however we do not take bank deposits to the bank but maybe once a week so the exact date it will hit the bank is never guaranteed and we do have the customers remaining $1,000 to be deposited by this Thursday August 31. We at Pete Mankins feel that now we had already corrected the mistake with the customer. As far as state law for Texas the only way handicap tags can be transferred over is if it is in the individuals name that the handicap plates are registered too. They cannot be put under someone else's property. The car deal is in Kevin Ronnes name and *** name is no where on the contract signed.

Showed one car and at the end told me thats the wrong car and want me to buy the old car
I went to this dealer looking for truck, we found the truck the sales man showed what I was approved for and what I can get, it was silver 2016 toyota tacoma. I asked them if I can see the car, they brought it to me, I looked at it and I liked it. I finalized the deal. Its the time to sign the paper work. In the middle of singing paperwork, one man comes yelling its not the right car. Then they bring me another tacoma which is lot older and had almost 20K more miles in it. Then all dispersed, the account manager who was signing me the paperwork is no where to be found and one guy comes to tell me that the older car is the one I am signing the paperwork for and thats what I will have to take.

I wasted exactly 4 hrs and ran my credit 3 times for the car which was shown by them telling me thats what I was approved for and then at the end telling me that thats not the right car and despite of solving the issue, everyone just vanish instead of trying to find the solution. This is very ill practice and unprofessional..

Desired Outcome

I want them to honor what they described and explained me and sell the car which they showed me for the price we agreed on....

Smith Mankins Nissan Response

It was unfortunate that we couldn't come to an agreement on a vehicle with Mr.. Here at Pete Mankins Nissan we are defiantly in the business to sell cars, but are limited to what the banks will allow for a particular individual.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We are not talking about bank here. I was already approved. The fact is I was shown one car to make a deal and when it was the time to take the car it was the different car they want me to take.
Secondly, once that happened instead of apologizing and trying to fix the issue, everyone ran away as if there is no one waiting. And when I told sales man how I felt, he threatened me and attacked my personal business.

Smith Mankins Nissan Response

Unfortunately the customers credit score would not allow her to purchase the vehicle he was wanting and he was shown a different vehicle that he might would be able to purchase due to his credit score.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They are just repeating the same thing but not understanding that I am not talking about credit score or whatever. The only reason we are even discussing is because THEY CLEARLY SHOWED ME ONE CAR AND WHEN I SIGNED THE CONTRACT IT WAS DIFFERENT VEHICLE. if I was shown the correct vehicle I would have never even filed this complaint but the way the matter is handled is the reason of this complain. I have not filed this complaint to hear credit score this and credit score that. It's the way they tried to deceive me showing one car and was trying to make me buy another car. That is called fraud not lack of credit.
