To Whom It May Concern: This is in response to Mr***s request for reimbursement of the purchase of the VSC contract on his Chevy Corvette. First, I would like to clarify "bumper to bumper warranty". A bumper to bumper warranty is only purchased when the vehicle
is originally purchased from the factory. A consumer can purchase a VSC to compliment and extend portions of the bumper to bumper warranty, however, there is no product sold that would equal the original bumper to bumper warranty at time of delivery. Smith Motors would never have conveyed to the complainant that what he was purchasing was a "bumper to bumper warranty". It is our policy that we are simply selling agents, and if the consumer has detailed questions we always provide the help desk number, links and example contracts to the consumer for review. In his purchase, we provided Mr*** with two different options of a VSC to purchase, one being the Chevy Protection Plan, endorsed by General Motors and underwritten by AMT, and the other being an APP Plan, endorsed and underwritten by Ally Financial. The platinum VSC's that are endorsed by GM take the name of the brand of which the vehicle is such as Chevy Protection Plan, GMC Protection Plan, Buick Protection Plan, My Auto Protection Plan or Cadillac Protection Plan. The first attachment is the contract in which the complainant received both before and after purchase. It clearly indicated that it is a Chevy Protection Plan that is "inclusive of the manufacturer's warranty; it does not replace the warranty but provides certain additional benefits during the term of the manufacturer's warranty." In the second section, it clearly states "check your contract coverage; not every part of your vehicle is covered by this contract." The complainant would have received this documentation and had time to review prior to purchase. If the complainant was having coverage issues after purchasing, he would need to reach out to the help desk of AMT for clarification. In conclusion, the complainant was provided all information in the most transparent way possible. Nothing was ever indicated or promised to that the VSC purchased was a "bumper to bumper warranty." General Motors contends and fully endorses that the Platinum VSC is as close to a bumper to bumper as a consumer can purchase aftermarket. I have attached the cancellation form that we can submit to GM in order to request a customer cancellation refund. I cannot guarantee the amount as it is contingent upon usage, miles and time. If that is the option that the complainant would like to pursue I would just need the form that is attached completed and returned.In the event of further questions, please contact me

Customer submitted the cancellation form.  We have canceled the warranty and refunded him $1300 per GM.  I also enclosed $200 for customer goodwill.  Thus, he has been reimbursed in full.  I consider this matter closed.
