Smith Timbering located in Reynoldsville, PA and owned by Wes Smith had a contract with me. They cut down and removed trees from my property that were not marked as part of their purchase. They DID NOT PAY FOR THE TIMBER THEY TOOK outside of our agreement. At the end of the job they refused to restore and repair the damage caused by their equipment as agreed upon in our contract. When I contacted them, by one phone call and by one certified letter, they had their attorney send me a letter stating I was not to contact them again or they would prosecute me for 'harassment'. They never paid me for the trees they stole, and never returned to repair the damage they caused to my property. I have read four other reviews online on various websites that this is common practice for Smith Timbering and Wes Smith. Do not do business with them!

Smith Timbering did a timbering job for me last fall and contractually agreed to repair and restore my property following the completion of their work. They were to regrade skid trails and landing areas, and reseed. None of this was done. They also removed additional trees without my consent or knowledge. It has been eight months now and I have tried to contact them continuously through phone calls and certified letters, to no avail. Review: Smith timbering was contracted to remove trees from a neighboring property to mine in clarion county the property was surveyed last year & the markers placed by the surveyor are still in place a representative for smith timbering also marked trees on the property lines with the standard 3 blue slash marks spray painted on trees. When he was marking trees before the contract was signed he marked trees on our property & asked if we wanted them cut. We said that we didn't want any trees cut. When they were cutting off the adjacent property they crossed the line by as far as 15' & cut 4 large red oak trees from our property. The employee called his foreman who talked to my husband & said he would be over & compensate us for the trees. He said that he told his employees to cut everything marked with a blue dot & forgot to tell them not to cut the trees marked on our property. He didn't come that day so my husband called him a few days later. He was defensive & said he would have to look into it. Two weeks went by & we didn't hear from anyone so I called the owner. He was very aggressive & used a lot of foul language. He argued that it wasn't his problem but after a few minutes he grudgingly agreed on a price of $800 for the 4 trees. I was told to call the phone number back & leave my name & address & he would mail a check. That was on 12/16/2014 and we have heard nothing else.Desired Settlement: I would like to be compensated for the trees that were removed for our property.
