Hi ***,
Unfortunately every once in awhile we run into buyers that are simply impossible to please, this happened to be one of those casesWe can not however, lie down or concede when being bribed and extorted. We were notified weeks after the delivery of the barrel, that parts were
missing and the buyer purchased his own productsHe demanded a refund for the amount he paid or he would leave a poor review, but unfortunately this is not how business is doneYou would not purchase a fire pit from a store such as Home Depot or Lowes, then see parts missing and call them demanding the price you paid else whereThey would react the same way we did , giving options of returns and/ or refunds We immediately refunded him the amount he paid forWe believe this idea of “ rude and dismissive” may be due to the fact that we would not refund him the full amount he wanted for purchasing products at a high priced storeWe are unsure of what this buyer means of “safety issues” as this is the first we are hearing of thisOur pits are built with high regard to safety and each one is tested out several times prior to shipmentThe buyer forgot to mention that this is his second barrel he has purchased from us, which both came with pretty hefty discountsLastly, this buyer purchased this barrel in December, well into the holiday season, and waited days from original quoteWe delivered as promised to FedEx on the due date for completionWe cannot control FedEx turn times during the holiday season, especially with the weather delays they incurred as wellIt leaves us with heavy heart that we are having to defend ourselves so much on such statementsSmokin’ Barrel works PRIDES themselves on ethical business!
That was my face book response to this guys slandering made up story. Attached is everything you need to know to remove this complaint as it is not valid, The refund was sent the day we agreed upon, for the amount that the buyer was charged by smokin barrel works. it is the second fire pit he has purchased, I assure you his claims that they are not safe is completely ridiculous. Thanks for ordering two unsafe products really?
The buyer from the get go complained about price, none stop he attempted to receive discounts and free items. We did give him very nice discounts on the first purchase then again on the second for being a repeat customer. If that's not good customer service I don't know what is
However I am very passionate about my work, and do not take these matters lightly. We will being filing a civil suite against this man for, extortion, bribery, slander and defamation of character. I have spoken to my attorneys who will be contact soon.
Please remove this completely fake review immediately.
Thank you

This is ridiculous and not going anywhere. We are taking legal action. The buyer has been refunded none of his claims make sense and we have proven soHowever just incased he forgot please see below
refunded - yes on the day we agreed to do so. We are not responsible for the customer bank delays if there even were any
late - hardly in the middle of the Christmas season we don't play favorites. The order was placed days after the estimated lead time was given
Customer service- Good- this man received more then enough is discounts on top of sales. Further more sorry but we just can not please everyone by responding seconds after contacted.
Safety concern - None - Clearly this is an attempt to hurt our company. The man is a second time buyer and loved his first fire pit. We also offered for him to send the fire pit back for a full refund which he should have done if the pit was defective and so "un safe"
See attachments
0855.png clearly shows this buyers attempt to defraud and extort our company. "$is my final offer"

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: It's filled with lies and nonsense. It doesn't actually respond to the issues. And this is going nowhere.
Mr. H[redacted] was rude, vulgar, and verbally abusive. He's been on a tirade since I dared to make this complaint.
When he received the complaint, he texted me after midnight:
Smokin Barrel Works: Your a real littke guy Huh? Your refund went through.
Smokin Barrel Works: Must suck.
Smokin Barrel Works: What is your deal? God your pathetic.
I replied: I never received a refund. I checked the credit card. When I told you that you sent no proof. You are rude and dishonest.
The next day, he texted--
Smokin Barrel Works: What I did was fair you... I gave you your [redacted] money. You bribeing piece of [redacted]
Smokin Barrel Works: [redacted]
Smokin Barrel Works: Pull this [redacted] on someone else. Karma is a both.
Smokin Barrel Works: [redacted]!
Smokin Barrel Works: Send the fire pit back for a full refund !
Smokin Barrel Works: What you did was unfair and the customer is not always right as in this case you are completely full of [redacted].
(At this point, I told him he was being verbally abusive. He kept texting and calling. I told him he had crossed into harassment and, if he kept it up, I would have to report him to the police. The messages eventually slowed and, two days later, stopped.)
The entire text chain containing the cursing and attacks was sent to the Revdex.com and included in the complaint he received. But he hasn't actually responded to or defended any of these statements. Probably because they are indefensible. He also hasn't apologized or accepted responsibility for the wrongness of that behavior.
Instead, he seems to keep proceeding from this place of deep and misguided victimhood. Like I'm supposed to be grateful he agreed to sell me a product. That I'm supposed to be grateful I got some amazing deal. I can't speak to whatever private, idiosyncratic value he places on his time and his work. All I can address is what we agreed to. I paid him what was agreed to. In full and in advance. That isn't in dispute. He didn't deliver what we agreed to. That isn't in dispute.
All the rest is anger, noise, lies, and nonsense. He keeps making counterclaims that just don't make any form of sense. He keeps saying I bribed him. What could that possibly mean? He keeps saying I extorted him because I asked for a refund for my out-of-pocket costs? He says the proof is that I offered to take $20 less than what I paid to resolve this? I was trying to stop my dealings with an unstable person. I attempted a compromise. That was clearly a mistake. You can't compromise with someone who just doesn't have his feet in reality.
I'm no longer going to continue this back-and-forth. It's not accomplishing anything to keep responding to his lies and gibberish.
If someone from the Revdex.com wants to contact me directly, I'd appreciate that. I'd be happy to discuss what's gone on.
I would like these messages and his harassing text to made public as a fair warning to people who might engage in business with him. If there had been a record of such behavior when I first looked up the business, I never would have made a purchase.Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: It's largely untrue.
We now have two issues at this point: The first is the underlying complaint about the barrel and the condition it arrived in.
The second is the customer service. After I filed this complaint, the person who previously never replied promptly, began harassing me day and night. I've attached the texts. You can see he's vulgar, verbally abusive, and texting me night and day.
Yes, I want a refund. But more than that, I now think it's important that a warning be out there for other prospective customers. Customers deserve to know that if they dare question this business-- and ask for what they paid for-- they risk abuse, threats, and harassment.
I'll quickly reply to his reply:
- He says I bribed him? He doesn't know what that word means. I don't know what word he means instead.
- He did not immediately refund me. I requested a refund on January 2. He finally said he would issue one on January 13. And then I didn't get any refund to my account or any receipt from him. When I wrote back asking about it, he made inconsistent statements... and then disappeared. It wasn't until I filed this complaint that he provided some evidence he requested a PARTIAL refund. I still haven't received it, so I have no idea if he did actually request it. (But in his string of harassing texts he said he would cancel the refund as a form of punishment for daring to complain about him. So I have no idea what's up with the refund.)
- I didn't wait four days from the quote to place the order. He took four days to actually take the order (he's hard to get on the phone).
- I explained the safety issue to him on the phone. I can unpack it here in greater depth. The barrel has two holes in the side. One is an air hole. The other is where the key meets the gas. There's a plate around that to seal it. Or rather there's supposed to be. The barrel arrived without it. Which means the key is not firmly in place or protected from the elements. This is the way the gas is turned on and up. And it's not properly protected or secured. This is the second barrel I ordered-- and because it was done correctly on the first one, I could see how it was messed up on the second one, and I had some insight into how I could rig a home solution for this. If I hadn't known that, I could have been in a dangerous situation.
- The claim about complaints about price and free items is, again, the opposite of true. He, unprompted, offered me a 25% discount as a repeat customer. I requested just about his most expensive product with all the extras, bells, and whistles. All of which I was paid for. When he first quoted me, though, he quoted me the full price-- no 25% discount. I reminded him of that. He gave me the correct price. I paid it. That was the full interaction.
- Every claim I have made here, to him, or online is 100% true. It is therefore not slander or defamation. Truth is a complete defense.
Sincerely,[redacted]
