I received an email for Mr*** on Sunday Sept 27thI called him as soon as I realized that I had received the emailWe discussed the issue as I was not at the bar to verify anything(Sunday is my one day off). I informed him it may have been a mistakeThat mistakes can happen and
if it is truly the wrong amount he could dispute it with his bank and they would reverse the charges as long as I didn’t dispute itI explained I could also make corrections on my end but that I used to work at a bank and that would be his fastest recourse.I later came into the bar as this was bothering me that he seemed it was intentionalI checked his credit card receipt and he was correct it was $with a $tipI then made a phone call to our credit card processor to verify the amount that was added to his card as a tip. They informed me that his card was only charged $65. $in charges and $tip.I then called him and informed him of thisHe started to argue with me, but I informed him that the hold put on his card would have had to have come from his bank as my credit card processor wouldn’t even send the final amount to the bank until Monday when the Fed was openHe didn’t seem to believe me but said he would call his bank on MondayI have not heard from him since. I have never seen tips process on weekends but this could have changed since I left the banking industry.
