I have recently terminated my monthly subscription to this gym on 02/28/2020 and am being billed for this month. I received an email on 03/03/20 from the gym stating that they had not been able to collect payment for $37.83, this is as a result of my having changed credit cards due to the old one having been lost. I had been told that you had to cancel your subscription in the month prior in order not to be billed for the following month. When I went to the gym to cancel I was told that the payment for the following month was already set to be processed.
gave the right timeline of events according to our records. However, with our fitness centers we have a 30 day cancellation notice. When he came in to cancel on 2/28/20, the billing for 3/1 was already in process. According to our agreement (and which he signed when he joined), members need to give a 30 day cancellation policy which is standard in gyms just as in apartments and many other types of subscription plans. He was cancelled effective March 31, 2020 as per the written agreement. We have recently been waiving the 30 day notice for cancellations due to Covid 19 but this happened well before that became a factor. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
