Revdex.com:?
I
have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID
***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint
For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowI
appreciate Pediatric Dental Center's response; however it does not satisfy the
fact that the compliant was not mitigated in the response from themI
currently hold and pay for two insurances, *** ***/*** *** (**/**) and
*** *** for my daughter, *** *** and I had been taking
***, to Pediatric Dental Center for about three years nowIn the past,
they have accepted the secondary insurance because a staffed dentist was within
the *** *** networkMy **/** insurance covers routine treatments, while
the *** is designed to cover any additional "preventative"
proceduresSometime between last year and this year, that specific dentist
retired (Either DrH*** or DrW***)On
3/17/15, *** took *** to Pediatric Dental Center for routine treatment
At some point during the routine procedure, she was given an option to get preventative
treatment, the secretary at Pediatric Dental Center stated thisPrior to
***’s appointment, both *** and the *** office had the insurance
information on file because we had taken *** there beforeAccording to ***,
she presented the *** *** insurance to the secretary at the time of
appointmentShortly
after the appointment, the office sent a bill to *** and from there she
forwarded it to me (This was in April 2015)?I immediately called them
and provided the secondary *** *** insurance, myselfThe business stated
that they didn't accept *** ***, but they would contact the *** ***
insurance anyhowAt that time, I also inquired on why the insurance was no
longer accepted; I was told that the dentist who once accepted the ***
*** had retiredI then asked if *** was informed when she was at the
office for ***’s appointment and the office secretary's reply was that they
had sent out a letter stating that the dentist had retired?I never received
any letter stating as such; therefore neither *** nor myself was informedThe
most expensive treatments conducted my daughter on 3/17/is considered
"preventative" in nature and not emergencyIn the response Pediatric Dental Center mentions a divorce decree, yet they are not in the business of
litigation of divorce settlements, but if they must know the divorce decree
states, “Except in cases where an emergency or other
circumstance prevents same, the parents shall discuss with each other the minor
children’s need for medical procedures before committing to the treatment.” I
made several calls to the office requesting the signed letter from *** that
consents treatment and I finally received it four months later in the mail with
a bill requesting to “Please pay balance in full.”Bottom line and upfront, I am not going to pay for
procedures outside “routine” when I am not consultedWhatever contract or
decision the office and *** decided upon on 3/17/is between themIf
they had decided that day to give *** an unnecessary, new set of braces
without my consent, would they expect me to pay? I didn’t sign the consent
form, so I should not be responsible for treatment that did not gain my
approval prior to treatment.Pediatric Dental Center does not need to await for
*** to call them back, in regards to discussing anything with me because I
am stating now that I will not pay for any preventative treatment that did not
receive my prior consentI pay for secondary insurance for the purpose of
taking care of such procedures for ***.If *** chooses to select a dentist/*** office
out of network from my secondary insurance that is her own choice and her bill-
She signs for consentIf Pediatric Dental Center chooses to not inform
patients of major changes in *** services, then perhaps they should consider
better ethics of informing patients about such major changesI believe that
the *** office should’ve informed *** of the change upon arrival for the
appointmentI attached the consent documents signed by *** and I can also
supply a copy of the divorce decree, if necessary.Again, I am respectfully asking for Pediatric Dental Center to please stop sending me bills and take my name off any mention to these procedures that did not receive my prior consent.Thank you for your time, sir/ma’amRegards,
***
