Property damage no refund or replacement of propertyOn 7/25/2016, I picked up clothing items from Snow white Cleaners located in Durham,NC. Two weeks prior I dropped off two pair of denim jeans to be dry-cleaned and pressed. When I picked up the jeans I notice the black pair was extremely faded. After speaking with the manager [redacted] 3 days later he told me he would have to speak with his supervisor to resolve the matter.A week later I received a call from [redacted] he informed me that even though my jeans weren't wash or starched his supervisor said it's nothing they can do because the dye in my clothes were going to eventually fade and that I needed to return them to the department store that I purchased them from.This particular brand of jeans that I have worn for years I have never had a pair cto fade in me.Promblem Date: 7/25/16Order number: XXXXX[redacted]Manager: [redacted]Payment amount $10.75Desired SettlementI would like to be compensated for my jeansBusiness Response Mr. [redacted] called and complained about his black Levi jeans being "faded" 2 days after picking them up from our store. At that time I asked him to bring them back for me to take a look at them. Mr. [redacted] brought them back on Friday 7/29. At that time I asked Mr. [redacted] if the pants were new and he indicated they were over a year old. I informed Mr. [redacted] to leave the pair of pants with me and I would discuss it with my plant supervisor the following week. After we both thoroughly inspected the pants we determine that the pants were in fact dry cleaned as he requested. It was our determination that the pants were fading as per normal wear and tear. I called Mr. [redacted] on 8/4 and spoke with him regarding our thorough inspection. I explained to Mr. [redacted] that there was nothing in our process that caused any damage to the black pair of Levi jeans. I explained to him that even with dry cleaning instead of washing (as per the instructions of the care label) that over time the dyes of the jean fabric will begin to fade (especially black and dark blue). I also explained to him that Levi's are notorious for using dyes that are not colorfast. In fact, they have began a marketing campaign promoting how their jeans fade without washing! Therefore a refund or replacement of property was not warranted.
