of Snowblasters Inc., offers contracts for snow removal in Gatineau. I paid $225 towards his services in November and the balance (another $225) was due in January, as indicated in the Contract.
We just had a snowfall two days ago and no snow removal services were provided. *** said he would return the deposit and stopped answering phone calls or messages. It looks like a ***. I think this snow removal company only exists on paper.

The agreement was and is. All money must be paid by December 1 for snow removal to start. No snow was removed because customer did not pay in full. There is 225 outstanding from customer. *** If she does cease , we will fill a complaint for ***. We no longer wish to work for customer and would be happy to cease working relationship. If she wishes, we would be happy to refund her deposit at end of season(May 1) or she can pay us the 225 owed and we can start snow removal for her. We be happy to obliged. Keep me posted on what she would like to do

I am rejecting this response because:
There is not a word of truth in the business's response.
*** came to the house I own at *** on November 9th, 2019 and we spent at least 20 minutes discussing the conditions of the contract. I explained that I didn't feel comfortable paying in advance to someone I didn't know, considering the fact that there was no trace of Mr. business (Snowblasters Inc.) anywhere on ***.
Therefore, Mr. suggested that I would pay in two installments, $225 on Nov 10 and $225 on Jan 1, as you can see on the attached contract. The dates are written in ***"s HANDWRITING. The first instalment was e-transferred on Nov 10, 2019. I have attached an email confirmation. The second is due in January. The whole reason for this arrangement was for me to see that the service would actually be provided in December, which never happened.
After the first snowfall this Sunday *** did not show up to provide snow removing services and did not make any attempt to contact me and explain what was happening. I called four times on Sunday trying to find out when he would be coming for snowblowing, but Mr. did not return ANY of my phone calls.
Later on the day Mr. sent a text message saying that he needed the payment in full. I sent him a copy of the agreement to remind him that we has a different arrangement. He never responded.
In his earlier text message (attached) he promised he would return the deposit, but never did.
The house at *** is an investment property. I have a tenant there and I don't live there full-time. I urgently need the deposit for the service that was never provided back to hire another snow removal service as I will be out of town in January.
The condition of returning the deposit paid in November for the services that was not provided in May next year (???) is not mentioned in the contract. This is something I would have never accepted. The refund is due immediately.
In my 23 years in Canada I have never been treated by a business in this way. It's dishonest and disrespectful. Not contacting the client who is expecting you, charging the money for the services never provided, not returning any calls and then declaring that you are being harassed - this is beyond my comprehension.
Unfortunately, this business doesn't have a google reference or webpage or any mentioning in the social media and I am not able to write a review and warn other people.
