First I would like to say that I Have been in Business for 5 years and have had many Happy customers. I had quoted Her job in Dec.14 she needed it because she was taking the previous owners to court to fix it She said. My quote was to fix the...

chimney build it up high and add a proper cleanout on the bottom. In the spring after talking to her numerios times threw the winter. she went from a pellet stove to a new woodstove back to keeping her old woodstove. When I called her before we were going to be there she wanted it fixed so she would never have to worry about it again. I told her then it would be another $[redacted] she didnt like it but told me to come anyway. We went we finished it its All hooked up correctly. I have no intentions of ever going back there.[redacted] Iha ve no intentions on giving her a refund when she still owes me $[redacted] in hst that I have to cover out of my pocket [redacted]. Any mason would tell you a warm flue works better than a cold flue. Cresote builds up in a cold flue and will be more prone to plugging off. Also I put the stove where it was in the same place before we got there. If she can find someone to find something wrong with the job we did Id be very Surprised.

His quote is dated December 11th 2014 but work could not be done until we found out from lawyer what we should do. He knew work would not be done until we had confirmation with lawyer. I called him in the spring and asked if quote was still good and he said yes. We had discussed the possibility of new virus old, he's correct. It doesn't matter as the stove I choose has no bearing on his quote. His quote was the chimney being fixed and the cleanout. I have pictures to show where the stove was as to where he put it. When I went down at the end of the job and said, "You can't put stove there as I need to get to the clean out", his reply was "then hire someone to move it. I have paperwork that proves he charged me for items two and three times. Included the price on the quote and then charged again on his add-on bill which was to be just the liner. I just found out that the stovepipe included in the quote from stove to liner was not new pipe as he states in his quote. I had someone come and put damper in and move the stove so I could get to clean out. That is when I found out he did not put new stovepipe but used my other stovepipe that was already on there.[redacted]
Now nowhere was I told or discussed with about an [redacted] add-on. He texted saying, you need a liner. I was coming from [redacted] and asked if he wanted me to pick it up as he buys in [redacted] he said. No, he replied, he was getting it and coming back to install tomorrow.
He's a professional and came to quote a job. He was up on the roof and down in the basement. He knew the home was 30 years old and from the mess in basement, (pictures available) you're trying to tell me he didn't know it needed a liner when he quoted? [redacted] Regardless, liner was [redacted] & that is what I agreed to. So [redacted] plus [redacted] = [redacted] plus tax [redacted] = $[redacted] I believe. This is what I should have paid not the $[redacted]
Now on his receipt for the liner there are also two more base-T's not required for this job at a cost of [redacted] or [redacted] each and another Deluxe Rain Cap at [redacted] not required for this job. My rain cap and Base-T are already included in the original quote. Original quote also states new stovepipe. He never replaced with new stovepipe. I can supply the quote, the receipt for liner plus extra's & his final bill. I have lied about nothing here.

She is right. This is going nowhere. As for liability. I would never recommend a damper on an outside flue. She got someone else to put it on.If there is cresote problems in not liable or responsible for that.I wasn't taking about what I did.
