Review: they placed a ad for a 89 pop up camper for $1895.00 drove over 90 miles to pick it up and when I get there the price went to $3995.00 would not honor the ad priceDesired Settlement: I want them to pay for my gas and the 4 hours of my time wasted to drive there and back home I called before I went and [redacted] ask me which camper and I told him the 1989 jayco pop up for 1895.00 that was advertised but price changed when I get there and he tells me the owner would not honor the ad price if I wanted it it was 3995.00

Response:

I think that's fair that we re-imburse the customer for his time and fuel. It was completely our fault and a classic case of "too many chiefs and not enough worker bees." Two different owners could not agree on a sale price after extensive re-conditioning

was done to the unit.

Enclosed is a check for $70 for the customers time and gas. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Review: I was sold a 2007 Springdale travel trailor by a SALES REP at Snyders Rv by the name of John. I drive a 2011 chevy silverado with a 4.8 engine in it.It can pull 5500 lbs.[redacted] told my wife and I the camper weight was at 4750lbs.The actual weight is atleast 6250lbs. Befor buying the camper my sales rep [redacted] assured me the weight was good and my truck could handle it fine.Come to find out he was wrong about the camper weight. I noticed it was hard towing my camper on the way home.I called Snyders Rv after as very long ride home due to the extra weight I did know about and explained the details of my ride home and specifically asked about the camper weight again and was told it was fine.I have been paying my payment and since I have bought the camper and to afraid to take it on vacation anywhere over a hour drive for the fear of crossing a mountain,so actually it has set in the yard til a couple weeks ago.I starting talking to friends about my camper and discussing my camper.A few months ago I emailed Snyders Rv about my concerns.Had called befor and talk to [redacted] (sales Rep)Low and behold Scott Snyder replied back verifying the weight on my 2007 springdale camper at around 6290lbs I replied back telling him what happened with his sales rep [redacted] selling me the camper at the wrong weight.. Scott Snyder just wants to check the breaks and grease it up a bit and not do what I think would be right.Scott Snyder is the managerDesired Settlement: TO ME THE HONORABLE THING would be buy it back at pay off and let me find something I want. I have ALREADY PAID UP TO 1600.00 DOLLARS WORTH OF MONTHLY PAYMENTS ON IT,I HAD PURCHASED EXTRA RIDE INSURANCE ON IT (FINANCED IN 2500.00 FOR extra INSURANCE )AND SCOTT SNYDER CANCELLED IT TO PAY A EXTRA 2000.00 OFF THE PAY OFF THAT EQUALS ABOUT 3600.00 DOLLARS ALREADY PAID ON IT TOWARD THE PAY OFF I WOULD NoT BE IN THIS MESS IF IT WASNT FOR HIS SALES REP BEING OFF ON HIS CAMPER WEIGHT.

Response:

Mr. [redacted] is unhappy with his camper and that sometimes happens. He has had the unit for over a year now and bringing it to our attention much sooner would of been advisable however now it is a year later. We have agreed to put Mr. [redacted]'s 2007 Springdale camper up for sale via a consignment agreement. We will do what we can to sell it for him as quickly as possible with no charge to him. Mr. [redacted] had called in this morning and is prepared that consignment sales can sometimes take a while although we will try to manage it as quick as possible. Hopefully, a quicker sale if possible can happen. Scott Snyder

I have attached NADA 2007 Keystone weight charts that shows Mr [redacted]s 262 Springdale on page 3 listed at 5560lbs. In a prior conversation I had mentioned this to Mr. [redacted] and I recall looking up his truck GCWR as 11,000 lbs. SCOTT SNYDER SNYDERS RV

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Mr Snider told me himself that the 2007 camper that [redacted] his sales rep sold me from his lot weigh in at 6250lbs with all its options. [redacted] his sales rep told me when he sold it to my wife and I that it weighed 4750 lbs, also it was told to them that my truck has the 4.8 engine in it not the 5.3 so my truck can safely pull 5500lbs he is trying to use a details to his advantage and time. As far as the camper being with me a year its because I didnt find out the truth til I emailed Mr Snider talking to him about the camper they sold me. I was telling him how hard it was to pull it anywhere especially climb any long grades and steep hills I stated all this in the email along with year make and model and when he replied back him being unaware of [redacted] weight error is when he told me how much the camper weighed.Of course you have to add the front hitch to the weight. All and all its not like I am asking him to pay back the 12 payments I have made while It set in my yard for a year because I was scared to pull it anywhere for vacation and I had made several phone calls asking them was it suppossed to be so hard to pull and not one of them asked me to bring it in to check it out for the first 6months so I was kept in the dark about the real problem til Mr Snider told me the true weight and now he does not want it back .Even though he still admits it weighs more than he sales rep said it did.Mr Snider needs to take care of this problem by buying the camper back at the payoff it was there error and he needs to be understanding about this.Iam not waiting much longer he has 30 days from the time I dropped it off to him. Regards,[redacted]

Response:

I really do not believe Mr [redacted] wants the trailer. But there's nothing we can do other than list it on Craigslist where it's currently listed.

Mr [redacted] tells me one day to cancel his extended warranty then the next says he didn't tell me to cancel it. He's grasping and looking for a way out of the unit . He has told [redacted] our sales person that he and his wife split and we feel that is why he is looking at very small campers. At this point , Mr [redacted] needs to pick up his unit. If we were to buy we need to be in the 10k range since after all trailers depreciate after a year or so. He may want to market it himself since he does not care for us.

Response:

Mr. [redacted],I am sorry to hear that you had an issue with your new 2012 Lacrosse 319 by Prime Time. In my 20 years, I can honestly say I cannot recall an instance where I have seen a battery catch on fire.I am at a loss as to explain how or why. However, although the initial manufacturers warranty has lapsed Prime Time has agreed to make the necessary repairs to the electrical system. To the bestof my knowledge when you had brought the unit to us there was a list of certain things such as slide-out, refrigerator, etc. that were not operating properly which we corrected. If you were considering trading up to a 2013 I will offer you a difference as low as possible at $7,900 difference. I have complete faith in your current unit and can certainly trade you if you so desire.

Response:

Sir, to the best of my knowledge we corrected all non-working electrical problems to "working status" after the accident and after the warranty had expired. Although all wires may of not been" pretty " all wiring was functional. You stated "nobody" would trade you and I offered a very generous trade number. I am sure no other dealer will beat that on a comparable Lacrosse 319. I am not sure there is much else I can do here. Again, this was an out of warranty unit when the "accident" happened and much unlike I had ever seen in my 20 years , but we got the systems operational again that I know.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I have sent pictures of repairs that were not made and also repairs [redacted] travel trailers has made.wires were replaced and fresh water tank replaced along with underpinning which Snyders used duct tape to repair. This type of work should not have to be accepted by anyone who purchased camper from Snyders. they had camper 42 days and and pictures show type of repairs made. I purchased a new camper not one that looks like this even if Snyders thinks so.
