Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Just today I received an e-mail that the company that I filed a complaint about has responded. I never received the e-mail from your agency that they had.The response that Mr***, President of the company sent to you does not address my complaint.Yes, the *** documents were signed. Why? Because I was being constantly hounded by the company to sign them, even though they knew that there were outstanding issues with their company.Mr*** did pay for the rain guttersI never said that he did not. However, there are still water spots (large white circular spots and some others that are swich type of spots where they power washed (something I did not request that they do) the walkway and driveway where they failed to remove paint splotches left from the cool wall and painting job they performed.***, rather than simply using a more direct and simple way of removing these spots (because the company failed to tarp the areas that got spotted) chose to power wash the entire walkway and in doing so left these splotches which are still present. In addition, (and I brought this to the attention to So Cal Construction and Remodeling) there is an area on my home where the cool wall paint is uneven and this has not been rectified under the company's life-time warranty. The lights are NOT FUNCTIONING as they need to be. If you were provided a photograph, that is because someone stood close to one of my lights and activated the cell. *** is fully aware that I want ALL of my outside lights to remain ON ALL OF THE TIME, not just went motion is detected. That is how they were set prior to the COOL WALL, THAT is how I expect them to be functioning now. They are not.My property was vandalized last week, and I am certain that if my lighting was operating correctly, that would not have occurred. I filed an incident report with the Chino Hills Sherriff's Station and can provide that information if you need for me to.***, from the Consumer Protection department at the *** program has been in contact with me, because *** is quite aware of my dissatisfaction with *** ***'s promises. *** Phone Number is *** ***. Her e-mail address is *** I will cc her on this e-mail so that she knows about my complaint with your agency; and that I STILL have had no communication from *** ***, ***, his assistant, or anyone else from that company concerning the outstanding issues Please re-open my complaint immediately. I will never do business with this company again, I will never recommend this company to anyone else again, and I am sorry that I hired them to do work through *** that any number of *** approved companies could have done with far less stress and far greater satisfaction. I have used other companies through *** who have treated me with respect--would never have asked to use my plants as a toilet, and whom, when issues were brought to their attention--addressed them professionally and did not use bullying tactics.I know the difference between companies that care about the quality of their work and there has been a world of difference between the two different *** approved companies. With the holidays coming it is imperative that my security lights be up and running in the fashion that they were prior to my *** Cool Wall job. The fact that I even have to deal with this company through their guarantee is upsetting to me, because I know Mr*** to be retaliatory in his actions (he has informed me in the past when I told him that the pavers his workers installed simply crumbled one night when I was about to walk up onto them with my baby)---and his response was that he was going to fire his foreman. That is not something I, as his customer, needs to be told. The work should be done correctly in the first place. ***, as the owner is completely responsible for the quality of the workmanship of each and every job his company performs. There should be NO DIFFERENTIATION of quality of service, dependent upon geographic location of the client, gender of the client, or status of the client.Clearly, if every job performed by this company had as many problems as my job did--then he could not be on your Revdex.com approved provider list, as I believe you said this company was. Please re-open my claim, and take it seriously.I have videos on my telephone, texts on my phone, and an array of e-mails I have sent to *** confirming the issues I have stated herein.Sincerely,*** ***, MS MFT, NBCTOwner of my home located at: *** *** ***

*** *** *** ***Note: I am a teacher and teach in an open classroom. The day I signed the *** contract, I received calls and texts from ***, ***, the "foreman", and ***, ***'s father--each of whom badgered me to sign the *** documents (even though the deadline had not yet arrived, and the light issue and the power wash spot issue had not been resolved). The only thing that did get resolved that day was that Mr*** provided me with a cashier's check to cover the costs of the gutters that my roofing company installed (after his company hauled the ones that I had away)--as well as some dormers that had to be installed because ***'s company (contrary to what was written onto the contract we entered into)--covered up some ventilation slats above one of my doors--providing needed ventilation to the attic. That is why the dormers needed to be installed. Had his crew and foreman paid attention to their own contract they would have installed the wood slats correctly (horizontally) instead of vertically (as they did) and would NOT have closed up the open areas that needed to be left as such. My home was built in and both sides of the attic area had these ventilation slats put in FOR A REASON. My home, I might add, is a custom built home, not a tract home. I think *** failed to remember that little detail.I will be off work from December 19th through the new year. I expect Mr*** to correct my lighting issues the week of December 19th--and this time, send someone who is licensed to deal with electrical issues. The panel door to my electrical panel remains on the ground where Mr***'s last worker left it--and it will remain there until Mr*** or his qualified worker comes back to put it back where it belongs I am not satisfied with the circles all over my driveway, and per the letter that *** prepared (to pacify the *** program, and cause them to believe that ***'s company actually did intend to stand by their promise to rectify the situation)I expect this promise to be kept.I don't beg, and I am not going to beg this company to do the right thing. If they do not intend to stand by their written guarantees and promises--then I am prepared to take legal action against them.P.S. I neglected to mention one last detail, Ms***. When Mr*** installed the paver steps leading up to my kitchen door--I advised him to be careful that the gate would need to easily clear this step, and that his workers had to properly measure everything so that there would be no issues regarding entering and leaving from this gate. I do not leave and enter from my front door; I leave and enter from the gate that is where the pavers were installed. Mr*** wrote into the contract we entered into that he was going to install pavers. Though the Paver portion of my contract was not financed by ***, it was none-the-less part of the contract entered into with Mr***' company. My gate has become so difficult to open and close (because of the misalignment that has occured during the process of the paver installation) that it is dangerous (for two reasons):1) I could fall while trying to open it--and so could the baby (whom I carry most of the time).2) The rod iron could simply detach from the concrete wall because I have to push so hard to get the gate to open and securely close.Numerous visitors have expressed concern and surprise regarding the gate--and last weekend, my daughter's babysitter said: "And the contractor LEFT IT THIS WAY?"!Of course, I said yes.I have neurapathy in my right hand--a result of a head on car collision. I also have chronic neck and back painI am sixty three years oldMy daughter is 1/2. Mr*** could obviously care less about the danger this situation poses to both of us.You can add this to my complaint.Thank youI hope you take this seriously. He obviously doesn't.*** D***, MS MFT, NBCT

So Cal replaced our windows and insulation in attic.
We have an HOA to comply with so we had a couple of small changes and the installers from So Cal did everything the board needed so everyone was happy with the installation and finished results. We had Bronze colored vinyl installed and they look like the metal bronze frames that we replaced. A great match.
The windows came at a time when the heat of summer was unbearable and what a difference the double pane glass made.
Our experience with customer service was positive and we have recommended to others who have used them also.

So Ca Contractors did an amazing job on our patio. We were very pleased with the results of the construction. The color matched our trim perfectly. I tried to get other professionals to do the work and they could not hang my swing on their beams where So Ca Contractors had reinforced the beam and hung it without any problems. My wife and I were very pleased with the finish product. It looks great and I will never have to paint it again.

My wife and I recently used SoCal Contractors to have 3 bathrooms fully remodeled in our home, and could not be happier with the finished product. The bathrooms look incredible, and the team at SoCal contractors could not have been more helpful throughout the process. We had the pleasure of working directly with Charles as he managed the entire project, and he exceeded our expectations – he was upfront, honest, and trustworthy. From the start, SoCal Contractors was the only company that my wife and I felt comfortable using after numerous estimates and conversations with other contractors. Their price and estimated timeline to completion was very reasonable, and realistic expectations were set up-front in order to eliminate any surprises down the road. The team that worked at our house proved to be trustworthy (they background check all of their employees), and worked tirelessly in order to finish within the expected timeframe and deliver high quality work. After using various contractors over the years, this was by far the most positive experience my wife and I ever had. We highly recommend SoCal Contractors & Remodeling!

To whom it may Concern,As it sets forth in the contract, So Cal Contractors and Remodeling, Inc. does require management’s approval and had denied the proposal well before any work commenced.  there is no meeting of the minds as to So Cal’s performance of the agreement and price....

Essentially, there is no mutual agreement or contract.    The Contract requires “Management approval” which So Cal has declined to authorize. We as an organization protect our clients interests and before any work starts we verify with our field managers the extent of work. having said that Instead of opening up the roof we found additional work that was required and did not want to start work unless the customer felt comfortable with the additional cost that were not charged in the contract. The client was never charged for the additional work we were going to have to do and offered a preset cost for the additional work required. I also would like to clarify that this was declined by the client.  If they clients require additional clarification he can contact our attorney [redacted] We also have a stipulation in our contract for arbitration in disputes with us contractually. Our position is we did nothing wrong and offered the client an opportunity to pay for the additional work that by law we as a contractor are entitled to if we never charged for it. furthermore we are willing to give the client a $100.00 gift card to [redacted] house to part ways amicably . attached is the copy of the contract.

I had my patio cover done by So Cal & I am very pleased with the job. The staff are very professional, accurate, accomodating and gave me all the time & attention for my project. They were very thorough, direct, honest, & showed me all the options that they can offer & delivered my wishes on a timely manner. The area was thorouhly cleaned after they left and now my patio look just like as I envisioned it. I can highly recommend them to any of my family & friends who can see a job welldone. Thank You So Cal .

So Cal Contractors installed a trellis along the sunny sides of the house. The trellis helped to lower indoor temperature by 5-7 degrees by shading the upper part of insulated walls. The sales person went over in detail, the contents of its product materials and contract before I signed. While the materials were custom made, I received timely calls notifying me of the process stages. Installation was as estimated due to careful pre planning and measurements by company ahead of time. The product is exactly as was promised and the benefits exceed my expectations.

So Cal Contractors appreciate the each and every client and we as an organization make every effort to satisfy our clients in an endeavour to strive to the highest reasonable standards. Unfortunately there are extremely rare occasions that all efforts and attempts to resolve the issues reach an impasse. This is the case with Ms. [redacted], She has made unreasonable request after the job was complete receive additional work at no cost to her and multiple attempts to complete the work to her satisfaction with out resolution. new items appear after we make "corrections " to her requests we consider this clients job complete and will only further address warranty issues as stated in her warranty documentation.

To whom it may concern:In regards to the issue with the A/C unit the contract was written with [redacted] Contractors Lic # [redacted] (in which we have a copy of the contract if needed)so any issues regarding that Contract do not pertain to So Cal Contractors and Remodeling, Inc. Lic 934182 though I...

am the president of Both Companies the are separate corporate entities. All issues have been resolved to the extent that the [redacted] Program funded the Coolwall job. The client also signed a completion Certificate acknowledging the work had been complete. We have also paid for the Gutters please see attached email copy. The lights are working please see attached pictures. The statement regarding the defecation is the first brought to our attention and have never been stated in any of the correspondence we have had. We can also confirm she received full payment of the requested amount.  [redacted]President

The workers were on time. They were couterous and answered all of my questions and any concerns that I had. They did the work in the same day and it looks gorgeous!

Even though I was somewhat bribed with a gift card of my choice to write a review as soon as the sunroom I had built by this company was completed, I wanted to wait a full year to see how it held up. I've had my sunroom about 9 months now and feel it's time.
The bottom line is that I love the sunroom, but if I could do it over, I'd go with a different company because I had terrible customer service and feel abandoned by the company since I did not finance through them and had signed off on the completed project. In retrospect, I also think I could have paid less.
I am a single woman with zero knowledge about contracting and building things. I should have trusted my instincts when someone came to my house to give me an estimate. It was way out of my ballpark and declined. The rep asked what I could afford and I figured I could afford the budget I had for a new (used) car, as the one I have is on its last legs. The rep said to let him call his supervisor to see what he could do. I walked away and pretended not to hear when he rattled on some sob story about me being a single school teacher with a very limited budget. We returned to our negotiations and the price came down thousands, but still a bit out of my ballpark. The rep had to ask if I heard him tell his supervisor about my situation. I know it's lying, but I said no because I had the gut feeling all the time that it was a sales tactic and his "supervisor" on the other end (if there even was one) couldn't care less and this guy just wanted me to sign a contract. I agreed anyway on a price midway between my budget and the price the rep came down to.
I thought I was purchasing a sunroom similar to the model I saw at the major home improvement store where I found this company, which included flooring. If I could rate the guys who actually built the sunroom separately, I'd rate them well because they were professional, respectful, and did great work overall. However, upon completion of the project, there was no flooring, except for the existing concrete slab it was built on. Upon calling the company before I signed off on the project, I had a snippy customer rep tell me I should have asked for flooring before signing the contract if I wanted one. I told him I thought it came with one because the one at HD had one, so how was I to know it didn't come with one. I cannot recall the rest of the conversation, but I'm a pretty easy-going person and this customer rep had me so angry! He then got angry right back and asked if I'm saying I'm not going to pay for the sunroom. I didn't appreciate him putting words in my mouth and ended the conversation. A day or two later, I don't remember how I came to speak with someone else from the company, but they apologized for the customer rep's behavior and admitted it's not an excuse, but that he was having personal problems. Knowing I can't fight city hall and because this guy was at least being kind, I decided to let the flooring thing go and literally live with a concrete floor.
The sunroom was built in early August 2015 and come the first rainy season, the sunroom floor leaked like crazy. They had to come out twice to fix the problem. An inconvenience, but I appreciated the service.
Recently, as the rainy season is over, I decided to use my Traeger BBQ, which sits outside, below one of the sunroom's windows. I'd only used the Traeger once before and noticed an indentation in the wall of the sunroom that appears to conform to the shape of the Traeger. The damaged wall is approximately 3'x3' and the indentation approximately 1'x several inches. I have no idea how the indentation got there, as my Traeger is covered and there's not a scratch on it. When I called the company, they said the problem is not covered by my warranty, but someone could come down to give me an estimate to give me a good price. I didn't think I should pay anything since the damage was not caused by negligence and I was given no care instructions when the patio was built, but I reasoned it away as having to pay a deductible of some sort. Eventually, they asked to see photos I took of the damage and said they would charge $600 to replace that portion of the wall. I told them I don't want to be unreasonable, but thought that was excessive, especially since I was not negligent, no care instructions came with the patio, and no one even came out to see the damage in person. They said the best the could do is "provide you with the manufacture's information and maybe they can provide you with another provider that would charge you way less for this type of fixture." I'm left feeling as though this company couldn't care less about my satisfaction since they've been paid in full.

We recently had a new patio cover installed by So Cal Contractors. Their people were very helpful with design ideas. Installation went very smoothly. We did end up having a leak at one place where it connected to the roof, but the company responded very quickly and had their guys out to fix it. We're really enjoying the new patio.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. On Saturday, January 7, 2017, a representative from the [redacted] program came to my residence to assist me with outstanding issues.  The gentleman was professional beyond measure, kind and considerate, and did his job (which was to walk around my property with me and take photographs of the Paver and CoolWall job.  He also took photographs of the circles that still remain on my walkway (and upper part of my driveway)--even after so much rain.  Mr. [redacted]' company itself wrote two letters (to appease [redacted] and convince them that they were honorable in their promise to address my concerns that remain outstanding)---and they have failed to honor their own letter's promise.  I have never asked for anything but what was initially promised.  Mr. [redacted] has a very short memory.  When the slats that were placed in my attic for ventilation purposes when it was CUSTOM BUILT were put in vertically (rather than horizontally as the contract stated)---I decided not to make the company rip them out and put them back correctly, and instead allowed Mr. [redacted] to resolve the ventilation issue by installing dormers above the kitchen area.  That was a concession on MY PART.  That was reasonable.  When the company decided to bring in a cement mixer and park it in such a way that I could not leave my own house one weekend (it was too heavy for them to move)--I was REASONABLE.  And I have a small CHILD in the home!!  But when my security is at stake, and my lights don't work properly STILL (even though the [redacted] gentleman who came out to my home this past Saturday, 1-7-2017 tried himself to fix them)--THAT is something that MUST be addressed.  Nothing that Mr. [redacted] did was for free.  If there is something that was--let him state in writing what he feels he did for free.  Verbally Mr. [redacted] told me he would paint one of my stone planters (to match the painted home and doors).  He renigged on that promise.  His foreman, [redacted], promised to match the rod iron upper fencing with the color of my coolwall--as an apology for my not being able to leave my home for a weekend (due to the cement mixer situation).  That never materialized.  I don't ask anyone to do anything for me for free.  I respect hard work.  But when I come home on a Friday night with my baby in my arms and enter my home only to find that the pavers that were installed have literally fallen apart--and I could have fallen with them with my baby in my hand--THAT is unacceptable workmanship.  The paver job WAS written into the contract.  I ASKED if it was included in the [redacted] project and Mr. [redacted] told me it WAS.  If THAT is what he is now stating is FREE--he has only himself to blame for that.  He should have done his research with [redacted] as a contractor and found out what was and wasn't included re: paver installation.  I doubt [redacted] would have EVER approved the workmanship of the paver installation anyway.  Photos were taken of that as well.Because my lights are still only working on a motion sensor, and are not on all of the time (as they were before this job was done)---I have activated a home mobile alert system in case something happens and I must have protection.  This is an extra added expense for me.  If the things that occurred and were overlooked on this job were to be the case on every job this company performs, they would have gone out of business a long time ago.  Just because I am busy, was not home much of the time that the workers were present, and am a female homeowner; does not mean that the company should have taken short cuts or operated on the assumption that they did not have to perform in the same way that they would have if my home was owned by a male, or couple living in Beverly Hills or some high end area.  My street is a street, as it is, of custom homes--albiet older ones.  We all take pride in our houses and want them to look as nice as possible.  I work two jobs, and have been a teacher for forty years.  I have a Master's Degree and am far from stupid.  I don't appreciate Mr. [redacted], or [redacted], the person who signed the letters that they e-mailed to the [redacted] program--treating me as though I am stupid.   Of course I don't accept the lies that they have stated.  Have them name the "extra" free work they did.  The cost to their company's reputation is far more expensive than anything they think they didn't get paid for.  Promises are promises.  Written or verbal.  I never break a promise.  But then there's a big difference between the kind of work that I do--and construction.  I guess it's harder to lose a contractor's license than I thought.  I'm still waiting for issues related to my first job to be addressed (which were brought up to Mr. [redacted] at the onset of the Coolwall/paver job.  That is:  no ventilation in my kitchen post the installation of the air conditioning and heating system that they sub-contracted out in 2014.
