Hi [redacted] , and associates! I'm the gay son of the owner of Social Butterfly (SB) When I saw that you were making it your mission to defame SB, I really couldn't sit idly by If you have a real interest in promoting LGBT equality, I suggest you save your vengeance for the more pressing matters facing my community Join the HRC Oppose [redacted] 's reelection Talk to your representatives about VA employment law, which still allows us to be fired based on orientation Frankly, your claims of SB's discrimination against the LGBT community seem rather silly, spurious, ludicrous and libelous But let's call a spade a spade, shall we? These allegations are in actuality, a smokescreenSo what lies behind the smoke? As you posted on SB's [redacted] page, ***, ***, and elsewhere, "I will do anything I can to put her out of business" And just yesterday we received a notification from [redacted] .com that we could settle ***'s claims out of court without mediation, arbitration, or litigation! Just give [redacted] money and all will be fixed The other presumable issue at hand is that SB requires a parent or guardian to be present when trying on and purchasing formal wear if you're under As [redacted] and associates may not be aware, we are less than yards from a high schoolAfter introducing formal wear, we found it quickly became a locale for girls to kill time As a result, inventory suffered quite a bit of damage As with most goods, the more wear, the more tear This policy is designed to ensure that when someone buys a dress from us, it will be in as good a condition as we can provide After the adoption of the policy, we saw a marked drop in damage and dress returns - encouraging a joint decision between child and parent about what is purchased tends to lead to more satisfied customers all aroundStill, ***, I find it rather ironic that you have such a haabout our age restrictions After all, aren't you a Realtor? And doesn't a Realtor act as a chaperone to anyone interested in the inventory on the housing market, regardless of their age? And why do you think the Virginia Department of Occupational and Regulation (DPOR) requires that? Is it to be "nasty" or "rude", as you've indicated in my mother's case? NoI think it's because DPOR wants to protect that inventory (i.ethe houses you sell) as best they can, just as my mother wants to protect her inventory (i.ehomecoming & prom dresses) as best she can Yet you argue that the cheaper dresses should be exempt from that policyThat a $ [redacted] dress is somehow less deserving of care than an $ [redacted] dress That our store should serve as playground to the elitists and the entitled But maybe you're still thinking "people like this don't deserve to have businesses." Remember the [redacted] gulf oil spill? Did that stop you from filling up? Remember the [redacted] suicides? Did that stop you from carrying a smartphone? No, you chose the easy target - that is, the small business, which when presented with libelous and fraudulent claims, could be extorted for easy money Notice that Social Butterfly has not pursued a case for libel Or contacted the police to report fraud Or dropped a note to DPOR about your unethical and illegal acts It's called manners, and mercyI'd like to end by quoting from one of [redacted] 's other two comments on ***: "People need to stop being so sensitive and stop thinking that they can get famous for complainingThe mom needs to take some responsibility hereAlso, kids need a thicker skin." This message is in regard to your complaint submitted on 9/28/3:32:PM against Social Butterfly. Your complaint was assigned ID ***
I was informed today that my complaint was closedI understand that the Revdex.com cannot pursue a complaint
against Social Butterfly for the discrimination issues, but they can certainly pursue the poor customer service, and the condescending and rude behavior on the part of the store ownerThe woman could have offered to help the girls try the dresses on or offer some other solution, but instead, she was belligerent and completely disrespectful, and I would like to pursue the
complaint based on those grounds
Thank you for your help

Hi [redacted], and associates! I'm the gay son of the owner of Social Butterfly (SB).  When I saw that you were making it your mission to defame SB, I really couldn't sit idly by.   If you have a real interest in promoting LGBT equality, I suggest you save your vengeance for the more pressing matters facing my community.  Join the HRC.  Oppose [redacted]'s reelection.  Talk to your representatives about VA employment law, which still allows us to be fired based on orientation.  Frankly, your claims of SB's discrimination against the LGBT community seem rather silly, spurious,  ludicrous and libelous.
But let's call a spade a spade, shall we? These allegations are in actuality, a smokescreen. So what lies behind the smoke? As you posted on SB's [redacted] page, [redacted], [redacted], and elsewhere, "I will do anything I can to put her out of business".  And just yesterday we received a notification from [redacted].com that we could settle [redacted]'s claims out of court without mediation, arbitration, or litigation! Just give [redacted] money and all will be fixed.
The other presumable issue at hand is that SB requires a parent or guardian to be present when trying on and purchasing formal wear if you're under 19. As [redacted] and associates may not be aware, we are less than 200 yards from a high school. After introducing formal wear, we found it quickly became a locale for girls to kill time.  As a result, inventory suffered quite a bit of damage.  As with most goods, the more wear, the more tear.  This policy is designed to ensure that when someone buys a dress from us, it will be in as good a condition as we can provide.  After the adoption of the policy, we saw a marked drop in damage and dress returns - encouraging a joint decision between child and parent about what is purchased tends to lead to more satisfied customers all around.
Still, [redacted], I find it rather ironic that you have such a hang-up about our age restrictions.  After all, aren't you a Realtor? And doesn't a Realtor act as a chaperone to anyone interested in the inventory on the housing market, regardless of their age? And why do you think the Virginia Department of Occupational and Regulation (DPOR) requires that? Is it to be "nasty" or "rude", as you've indicated in my mother's case? No. I think it's because DPOR wants to protect that inventory (i.e. the houses you sell) as best they can, just as my mother wants to protect her inventory (i.e. homecoming & prom dresses) as best she can.
Yet you argue that the cheaper dresses should be exempt from that policy. That a $59 [redacted] dress is somehow less deserving of care than an $800 [redacted] dress.  That our store should serve as playground to the elitists and the entitled.
But maybe you're still thinking "people like this don't deserve to have businesses." Remember the ** gulf oil spill?  Did that stop you from filling up? Remember the [redacted] suicides? Did that stop you from carrying a smartphone? No, you chose the easy target - that is, the small business, which when presented with libelous and fraudulent claims, could be extorted for easy money.  Notice that Social Butterfly has not pursued a case for libel.  Or contacted the police to report fraud.  Or dropped a note to DPOR about your unethical and illegal acts.  It's called manners, and mercy.
I'd like to end by quoting from one of [redacted]'s other two comments on [redacted]: "People need to stop being so sensitive and stop thinking that they can get famous for complaining. The mom needs to take some responsibility here. Also, kids need a thicker skin."*
