Society of Chic- BEWARE!

I ordered 2 items in August for a Bacherlorette August 31st. I paid an extra $37 for expedited shipping. I noticed they had my old address for the order so I changed my address in the system to my current address, sat back and waited for their arrival. They never showed and I had to buy all new clothes for the bachelorette weekend. After I was told by customer service to "Use the tracking tool to find my package myself" I saw that they were shipped to my old address. I immediately let customer service know again and rerouted my packages to my current address through USPS. After 2 more weeks still no clothes. I contacted customer service for probably the 4th time at this point. They rudely accused me of not changing my address so I sent them a screenshot of the updated address. I was told "I don't know where that is coming from but that is not updated in our system. This was not our error" How that is my problem.. not too sure. I was then told they would resend and expedite my items so I was happy! Finally my clothes will be here! Then a day later when I asked for the new tracking number I got this response - "I'm trying to debate on refunding as you needed the items by the 1st? It might come a few days after. do you prefer the refund in full? Or can we attempt to ship and arrive by Nov?" At this point I had asked for my items to be shipped at least 4 times. I never once asked for a refund nor did I give that as an option. I expressed I still wanted my clothes and to go ahead and ship them. If they were expedited they would get here on time. The next day I inquired if my items were shipped the day before no answer.. next day no answer.. now on Oct 28 I finally get an answer saying this "hi there, we have will refund today, OR we can credit PLUS the additional $25 for future order." Again I never once asked for a refund I just wanted my clothes shipped! If they would have shipped them the date they said they would they would've been here on time. Since they didn't ship them the day they said they would which was October 1st, one of the items was now out of stock! After finally getting fed up and saying fine just refund me but this is awful customer service I get this response "I just said I refunded and if will reflect this week. Thank you." The attitude, lack of communication and unprofessional-ism was ASTOUNDING to me. I have used Society of Chic before with no issues but this nightmare makes me never want to order a thing from them ever again. I feel like this person didn't even speak english and the only way I got half of my money back was by threatening and bringing to their attention that keeping my money while I haven't received any product from them is ILLEGAL. I still haven't received a refund for the shipping and it's November!

1. I changed my address, just because it didn't update on the back end doesn't give anyone the right to say it was my error.
2. When something gets shipped to the wrong address you fix it and get the items to that person asap. Not message me back and forth for a month about it until the items run out.
3. You don't force someone into a refund because you don't want to do your job. Never once did I give refunding my money as an option instead of receiving the clothes.
4. If you work in customer service you don't get an attitude and scold the customer. The way I was talked to was extremely rude.
5. They don't have a working customer service phone number for the United States so messaging is the only way you'll get anything done...or not get anything done.

If I wasn't giving out my address to the whole world by including the screenshot picture, I would include it in this message to prove the error was completely theirs.

My order # was:100053140
Tracking number: LW781588107CN - On the USPS tracking website it says my clothes are still in transit...what a joke.

Overall awful exprience and it's still not resolved. BEWARE!

Review: I went on Society of Chic's website and saw a black coat with a faux fur collar on sale for $100. They had a no refunds, exchange only policy for on sale items. I purchased the coat and when it arrived, the item was not close to how it was depicted on their website. It was incredibly cheap and looked like a very poorly made version of what was in the photo on-line. It seemed to be a bait and switch tactic. Because of their refund/exchange policy, they refuse to refund my money when I emailed customer service to let them know how misleading their advertising was. Since this is my first purchase with this online retailer, I did not want to exchange the item for anything else fearing the quality would be equally abhorrent. Also, their shipping charge is $10. So in addition to the cost of the coat itself for $100, I had to spend $10 to have the item shipped to me then another $10 to ship the deficient product back. That's $120 in total for what has been a subpar, and seemingly fraudulent experience with Society of Chic.Desired Settlement: I want at least the $100 refunded to my credit card. Ideally I should also be refunded the $20 in shipping charges spent to deliver this fraudulent product.

Review: I purchased a skirt for my wife at societyofchic.com Sep 17th for the amount of $34.50. I have sent several emails to them regarding the tracking number and nothing happend. Oct 1st they fianlly send a tracking number which is not a real tracking number ([redacted] tracking # [redacted] when you type this tracking number it says "No tracking information found. Please verify your tracking number and try again later" but I'm tired of trying. I have try to call that number many times and nobody pick up the phone or voice mail. I just want this peaple not to do this to other people.Desired Settlement: I just want to get my money back. I just want every consumer to know what this company is doing.

Review: I purchased a dress that is nothing like the item shown on website. I notified society of chic immediatley and sent it back the next day. They have not refunded me my money. They say they did but it does not show up on my [redacted], bank or debit card. I even went directly into bank for the issue and nothing shows up. The company has been very difficult to get a hold of and has still not sent the refund. They also want to charge a restocking fee which I think is not fair for all the time I have asked for response or refund. Its been over two weeks and I still have not received a refund. I have been more than patient but this is getting ridiculous. I want my full payment back. They only sent on screen shot of " return" but it shows nothing. Doesnt show how or when it got returned or to which card or account. I have a real estate office and we can send that info to clients if needed with last four digits of card.Desired Settlement: I will only accept a refund in check to be sure I take myself to bank to place in my account as I feel this is a scam.

Business

Response:

The customer ordered the item on June 11th and paid $108.00 for the dress and for standard shipping which states 10-28

business days for delivery. The item was delivered to the customer on July lst (14 business days later). The item was returned to us on July 16th (11 business days later), and we issued a refund of $88.00 in accordance with our well-stated policies on July

23rd (in fact, the customer acknowledged her awareness of the restocking charge in one of her emails to us dated Aug 4th).

From July 28th through August 4th, there was an exchange of 10 emails between us. Apparently, [redacted] credited the

customer's debit card (the one she used to make the original purchase) on July 23rd although the customer claims to have not received the credit. We contacted [redacted] then and as recently as 3 days ago (when we received a notification from your

office) to confirm that the deposit was made. They assured us that the deposit was indeed made, and that the responsibility

lies between the customer and her bank. (Which we had told the customer repeatedly in August.) I pressed for more

information about the customer‘s bank in an attempt to aid the process, and was told that privacy issues prevent [redacted] from

enabling me to do so.

(l have enclosed a PDF showing the original purchase as processed through [redacted] as well as our refund as processed through [redacted].)

This matter might have been resolved more equitably but when the customer threatened us with the Revdex.com and that a law suit

was being filed by her husband acting as her attorney, we decided to take her at her word and wait for that process to unfold.

Review: On October 25,2013 I ordered a coat for my birthday from a boutique www.societyofchic.com. I felt the coat was taking to long to arrive so I tried to cancel my order but it was to late. Once I finally received the coat November 7, 2013 after my birthday I discovered it was the wrong size and of poor quality it looked nothing like the online picture. So I emailed the company and was told I could exchange the coat I really need a coat so I went along with the exchange.I returned the first coat the sent November 9, 2013. Once I finally received the new coat and I am far more disappointed this time than I was the first time. I asked for my money back but because it was an sale item I can only exchange the coat. I am tall and slim young lady but I do have curves as well and I can not fit the XL (extra large) in their coats. I will not be able to fit the clothes for exchanges. I'm a college student and I do not work that money was given to me from my mother to get a coat for winter. After sending countless emails I finally received an email stating that a return will be issued. Two days later I returned the second coat and it had been 8 days and the return of my money has not been issued.Desired Settlement: I would like the money I paid for the coat $153.00 and the money I paid to return both of the coats $13.39 and $20.61.

Response:

We just received your request for information yesterday, the first of its kind from your office although we did receive an invitation to register with Revdex.com. The mails must be slow this time of year. So, we hope

that your December 26th deadline can be waived in this case.

. In the month between the time the customer first ordered clothing from us on October 25th and-the time she decided to turn to the Revdex.com, we have made every attempt to accede to her requests going well beyond our stated policies of shipping times and exchanges. The original item, a coat, was ordered with shipping clearly and repeatedly stated as “10-28 business days’, and was delivered to the customer within 9 business days. The customer claimed she felt it “was taking too long."

Disappointed by the first coat, a replacement coat was shipped immediately after the first coat was returned to us. Since that coat was still not to the customer's liking, we agreed to put aside our own well-stated policies and refund her money and the original shipping, which we had done on November 27‘h well in advance of receiving this notification from your office.

In a continuing effort to maintain the positive reputation we have earned through more than 10,000 successful transactions this year alone, we will further refund the additional shipping costs the customer

Review: To whom this may concern:

I have ordered 3 clothing items from this site. I was glad to find such wonderful trendy items for a great Mark down price. However, I was very disappointed when I received my purchase in the mail. These outfits look nothing like the pictures they show on their website (societyofchic.com). I even took comparison pictures of my outfits to the pictures they show online. One faux leather jacket I ordered is far too short, fabric is cheap and very thin, I mean I can tell you that I can tear the jacket in half with my own hands (which I have not) but that's how cheap it is, and also the fur around the collar is not as full as shown on this picture. The sweater shirt I ordered is also made completely wrong and different, it is too short and the embroidery is even off not to mention the whole color is completely off. Now the dress I ordered is what upset me the most. I've seen this dress off another site for 300 dollars, it's satin and I wanted it then and there. however, I came across society of chic who had the same exact dress (same picture) but for a much lower price. Beyond upset, especially since I had ordered that dress specifically for an event that ended up not going to because I simply couldn't wear a clown costume. I compared the dress material to original one on the other site, I was sent a polyester dress when it was supposed to be satin. Now I'm pretty sure I do not need to explain how awful the fit was and how different this dress looks compared to the picture, you can probably imagine. Now, I asked them politely via email for a full refund after I sent back the item and they told me they couldn't do that and they can only give me store credit. Now how can I trust a store like that ever again after I've been completely fooled by their advertisement, let alone consider buying anything else from them ever again? It is very hurtful that I had spent close to $150 on this purchase and to find out its not even worth a penny for me to want to buy and wear. On top of that I think they have accidently shipped their invoice for these items from China ( where I'm assuming they originally came from)... the total for these items were $22.02.... but I payed $150....this is a huge problem. I have been robbed and scammed. I have pictures to prove everything and also I have found similar reviews/complaints from others with the same problem from this store.

Please help me get my refund back. Hope to hear from you soon.

Best,

P.s- I can respond much better through email and please ask me to send you all the proof.Desired Settlement: I am simply asking for a full refund.

Regards,

Review: I ordered an item from this business in December. The first problem was it came from China and took over a month, even though the website and everything else about them made it seem as though the item was coming from New Jersey. When I asked about the delay, they were unable to provide a tracking number even a month after my order had been placed. When I received the item, the size was incorrect and I had to make an exchange. The store claimed that they only provided store credit and I would have to order another item. Given the quality of the skirt I had originally ordered (frayed stitching, metallic chevron design was glued on and the size did not match the measurements on their website), I was reluctant to order another item from the store, but since I could only get store credit I did. Once I placed the order, I never heard from the customer service again, despite sending 3 emails within the following month (March 2015). I have not received the exchange item, nor have I been able to discuss a refund of the monies I am owed. I have told this business how displeased I am with the service, and that I would do everything I could to get a favorable resolution since I believe they are scammers.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the money that I paid for an item that I did not receive in a timely manner, and that has not been exchanged, and for which I have not even received store credit. I paid $80 and return shipping was $10, and for the exchange item I ordered, I had to pay another $10 and I have not received any goods from this store yet. Therefore, I expect a refund of $100 for all the money I have spent trying to get this store to honor what I have already paid them.

Review: I ordered an item from Society of Chic on June 8, 2015. They do make it known that their processing & shipping times do take some time, however, I am well past that window. I have reached out several times inquiring about the status of my purchase. Out of four emails, I only received one response, and that was only to tell me that they did receive the order. When I log in to my account on SocietyofChic.com, it shows that I do not have any orders at all, therefore, I have no order number to refer to. My checking account has been charged for the item. I cannot seem to get any acknowledgement of my emails. ZERO. Of course, there isn't a telephone number provided, so there's no one to actually speak with. This is very frustrating. My money is gone and I still don't have what I ordered, and have no clue if I will ever get it.Desired Settlement: I would LOVE a response from Society of Chic and would also really like what I ordered. I feel that I should be compensated in some way for this lack of service--I won't ever be ordering from them again, so a discount or coupon would be laughable.

Review: I purchased what I thought was a wrap wool leather lined coat for a sale price of $99.70 (including shipping). I ended up with a polyester faux leather trimmed fleece wrap. I tried to contact the company for a refund because the wrap was not advertised correctly. I noticed the website conviently changed the material to "polyester" from "wool". In addition to the product being of poor quality, I was sent the wrong color (I ordered black and received navy blue). I did not receive the item until approximately a month after purchase.Desired Settlement: I will be more than happy to send the wrap back for a refund.

Consumer

Response:

Review: I placed an order on July 30, 2014 via the Society of Chic website. My order number is: [redacted] I received the items in a timely fashion and the items were to big. Per the Society of Chic exchange policy I requested a RMA code and was granted one by [redacted] on August 1st. My RMA code: is [redacted]. I returned the items on August 2nd via FedEx and the items were received in the New Jersey facility a few weeks ago, via Fed Ex tracking. I have yet to receive my exchanged items or a notification via email as to what is going on with my order.Desired Settlement: I would like my desired items that I requested which are as follows: [redacted]

Business

Response:

We have attached the DHL receipt for delivery of the replacement items in question showing a delivery date of September 1 and signature acceptance by [redacted] A copy of the original [redacted] transaction is included to show the various names used and their relationship.

We have requested that the customer notify your office to withdraw the complaint.

Review: I place an order for a pair of shoe and a sweater a month and counting which I did not receive. I spoke with a manager and I was told that my product was ship two weeks later I called and some else told me they would have to check but it should have been shipped already, to my surprise another person told me that my product cannot be found or shipping info. This was two days later. I ask for a refund and a week later, and I am still waiting. This company didn't even have the proper business ethics to apologies to me.Desired Settlement: They should also give me an written apology, they advertise every day, but cannot close out a transaction, also they told me that they didn't have a contact number and I can only reach them by email.

Review: The garment sent is from china and of extremely poor quality, looks nothing like it is pictured on their website. I ordered a Medium size beaded jacket for $65 and an envelope from China arrived with a poorly made small child like jacket with a graphic beaded print in a shiny material.

This company has an Instagram account and as soon as I posted a comment about their product I was blocked by their website.Desired Settlement: Full refund including shipping costs. Stop posting items that they can not deliver, scamming others from ordering online.

Review: After seeing a photo on their social media page, I went on the website and found the dress they were advertising on their page and ordered the dress. After weeks of not receiving an email of when I should expect to receive my dress, I looked on their website and noticed that they changed the image of the dress which looked like nothing that was advertised initially. Upon reading reviews and comments about the dress, other customers were having similar issues and their experience with ordering the same dress was that it wasn't the dress that they advertised on their website. Details about the dress included, buttons down the back of the top and the skirt.

I still have not received an email or notice from this company about my order. In addition, the order I placed was for the dress that they advertised which was a screenshot taken from another company.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund and confirmation from the company regarding the refund.
