Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
I'm disheartened to hear such a response from a business - particularly from a medical professional MrR cites that he sent numerous invoices to my attention but I'd welcome an accounting for the email and mail to prove such a claim I did receive an invoice in June of which I promptly paid It wasn't until early April of - over a year since my concern with MrR - that I received a threatening invoice for past due payment It was the first time I received such an invoice I called Mike to discuss this invoice and left a voice message He did not return my message and I welcome that voice message be logged into this complaint Given no response and that I was leaving town for work, I visited his office days later to hopefully discuss this matter in person He refused to meet with me, having his receptionist address my concern MrR cites the video tape of this visit which I'm completely comfortable with him sharing in this grievance You'll find a mature conversation in which I wanted to better understand the invoice, get a copy of the June invoice and request an opportunity to speak with MrR to discuss the concern with his treatment The receptionist was kind enough to extend the date of the collection deadline to allow me to have a conversation with Mike upon my return from work She also couldn't find the invoice from June of which I paid and promised to send me that copy I am still awaiting this copy
My health insurance will cover my invoice My concern is my completely healthy back that, since MrR aggressively cracked my back, is now considered by professional physical therapists and back and spine physicians as a chronic back issue I question if MrR really wants me to pay the entire invoice after he caused such an injury It was certainly not what I intended to pay for My concern is that I spend a good portion of my day in pain because of his treatment in Yes, after cracking my back four times, I didn't want my back cracked any more as Mike suggested in his treatment plan The fact that MrR is not concerned about how his practice injured a patient is not only irresponsible, it's dangerous I was hoping Mike would show concern after two successive treatments on my back - which was supposed to address left knee pain - left me bed ridden in pain Instead, he behaves as if he's more interested in capturing more money for his practice and just accepting patient injuries are part of the practice
My hope is MrR will find the professional courtesy to either return a phone call or have an opportunity to discuss this concern in person He's more than welcome to record the conversation or have others in the room to make him feel comfortable He will find a former patient with a very valid concern in wanting to discuss the injury I encourage MrR to consider the validity of this grievance as I find no joy in having to venture down this path.
Sincerely,*** ***

This is harassment
Mr ***'s statement contains numerous errors and is factually not correctHis insurance company reviewed the claims and found them to be valid and applied them to his deductibleThey sent him an Explanation of Benefits (as well as a copy to our office) informing him that he is responsible for the balance. The Department of Health found no evidence of wrongdoing on my part and closed his claim
Mr ***'s account was sent to the collection agency we utilize for these matters on April 25,

This action by Mr. [redacted] is bordering on harassment.
This complaint is regarding dates of service in my office of 2/24/15 & 3/5/15. These dates are more than a year ago.
I have never spoken to Mr. [redacted] on the phone and I have only responded to him via email 3 times on 3/31/15, 4/2/15, &...

4/3/15.
My office staff attempted to contact him numerous times between the time of his initial visits (2/24/15 & 3/5/15) and, most recently, on March, 27, 2016 regarding his patient portion due after his 2 visits were applied towards his deductible.
The only reason my office staff has attempted to contact him, in any manner, is to collect payment for a legitimate and valid bill for services rendered.
He ignored 3 statements sent in the mail, and an email from my office staff.  (His contact information has been verified numerous times).  It was only after my office staff mailed him a 4th and final statement (1 year after his visit) instructing him that his account may go to collections, that he responded by showing up to my office, unannounced, demanding that my office staff negotiate with him.
Mr. [redacted] is attempting to “negotiate” (a direct quote from him to my office staff) away the remainder of his patient portion due by bullying myself (through complaints such as this) and my staff (we have security video cameras in the waiting area).
[redacted]He filed a complaint with the Washington Department of Health that was closed “…without disciplinary action because the evidence does not support a violation.”
His insurance company, after their own investigation, concluded that the fees he owes (as a result of his deductible) are reasonable and customary and correctly reflect the services rendered.
Mr. [redacted] did not complete the course of care I recommended for him.  I do not know what he has done to himself over the year since I saw him last.
I performed a thorough history and physical examination and found no evidence of pathology, trauma, or yellow flags that would warrant X-rays. In fact, in the absence of pathology, trauma, or yellow flags, X-rays are not the standard of care within the first 6 weeks of treatment.

Mr [redacted]'s account was sent to the collection agency we utilize for these matters on April 25, 2016.
Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Mr. R refuses to act as a responsible business and address my concern.  It's dangerous that an acting physician dismisses an injury he caused to a patient, dismisses that patient's concerns to discuss the injury, and just moves on to the next person.  Instead, Mr. R cites my interest in discussing the concern in negotiating the bill or at least hearing the extent of the injury he caused as 'harassment'.  He claims my insurance company found the charges to be valid but my insurance company has nothing to do with the injury his practice incurred to me.  Insurance companies pay bills for services rendered, not investigate whether those services cause harm.  If he requests facts, my insurance company can certainly provide documentation of all the health treatments I've had to undertake since seeing Mr. R.  I find no pleasure in spending thousands of dollars in medical treatment over the past year to deal with a back injury in which I never had any issue with before seeing Mr. R.
Sadly Mr. R is missing the grievance here - I'm not questioning services were rendered on his part.  I'm raising a complaint that his services caused an injury that three back and spine specialists, two physical therapists and a pain management specialist have all agreed has occurred.  Again, if he's looking for facts, we can arrange a time for him to speak to all of these certified, professional doctors or speak to my friends, family and co-workers that have seen my back pain impact my quality of life since my visit.
Mr. R mentioned he sent me to collections April 25th which was less than 60 days of receiving that invoice for the first time.  This is another example of irresponsible business practice.  He sent me to collections despite his receptionist giving assurance that the due date was going to be extended to allow me to speak with Mr. R.  We can review this assurance from the receptionist on the video that Mr. R cited earlier as a 'harassing' behavior.
He refuses to discuss questions on the bill with me and continues to exhibit a dismissive behavior toward a person that he injured.  He apparently is avoiding a discussion in whatever context makes him comfortable because he realizes he 'screwed up' and caused a once healthy young adult a life-long injury.  I'm pleased this forum is capturing this grievance for public record and that Mr. R refuses to act as a responsible business.  He's more that welcome to ignore my concern, but it was my hope that this venue would inspire a sense of responsibility for his actions.
Sincerely,[redacted]
