Okay, I don't expect you to make them go out of businessI would hope for a refund

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  Personally, I still feel misled in regards to believing their dentistry was covered under my insurance. I was operating in faith that the bulk of my services would have been covered by my insurance, not that I would have to pay $600 out-of-pocket. I do not feel this was explained to me clearly until the day I showed up for service, then I was told if I backed out I would owe a $150 cancellation fee. Overall, I feel their practices are meant to raise costs higher than necessary. I will still pay what is owed, but I will never use their dentistry again, and will stick to one that is explicitly covered by my insurance.

Dear Revdex.com,
Please note that [redacted]’s...

posting to the Revdex.com is a total
fabrication of truth, and is simply an attempt on his part not to pay for
services provided by our practice.
[redacted] visited our practice on August 14th
2014 and was seen by Doctor Samira S[redacted].
The following procedures were performed for him on that day:
-
- Crown on tooth #18 (lower left side)
-         -
Filling on tooth #19 (lower left side)Since
doing a Crown is a two-step process, he came back for his final Crown delivery
on September 15th 2014.
We
have a signed written detailed treatment plan which was presented to him on
August 14th explaining exactly what procedures will be performed.  We also have a signed consent document from
him indicating he understood exactly what procedures will be performed, and
agreed for such procedures to be done. Nowhere in any of these documents does
it indicate he has six cavities or that we recommended he extract six teeth.
He also had an old root canal. Since Dr. S[redacted] is a
general dentist and does not do any tooth extractions, she referred **. [redacted]
to an endodontist for his root canal and tooth extraction.  We later received a written feedback from his
endodontic with her opinion stating that his old root canal needs immediate
attention. Again, this is contrary to what he has posted.
We have charged **. [redacted] the following fees:
-         -
$835.00 for one Crown
-         -
$172.00 for one Filling which included his $50 insurance
deductible
**. [redacted] has made a $503.50 payment on his first visit on
August 14th, and a second $503.50 on September 15th, for
a total payment of $1,007.00.  No other
payments were requested and or paid to us by **. [redacted]. Again, this is
contrary to what he has posted.
We have all the supporting documents, and can make them available
upon request.
Please note that **. [redacted] has gone on multiple web sites
(including Revdex.com), and under multiple fictitious names, to post the same false
information about us.  As a result, we
are in the process filing a law suit against [redacted] for defamation
and slander.
Please contact us if you need further information.
Thank you.

Dear [redacted],
I have read [redacted]'s complaint. However, the only reason she has a balance with Soft Touch Dentists, is because she has cashed the insurance payments that were meant as payment to our...

office  toward her procedures. We charged her portion to her credit card, and awaited payment from the insurance company for their part. When the insurance company issued a payment, they sent it to the patient instead of our office. At that time, instead of forwarding the payment to us, where it was owed, [redacted] cashed the checks and kept the funds. There were two checks sent by the insurance company totaling $655.00 ($151 for the 5/3/2014 date of service for the exam and xrays, $504 for the 5/10/2014 date of service for the scaling and root planing procedure). This results in her only balance with our office of $660.00.
Please see attached documents showing a treatment plan presented to, and signed by [redacted]. This treatment plan clearly states the amount expected from patient, the amount expected from insurance, and the fact that we significantly discounted the patient portion. I have also attached her account ledger that shows all charges, payments, and discounts, in addition to the form the patient signed, specifically informing the patient that if they receive any insurance payments, they are to forward that payment directly to our office.
Please let me know if any additional information is needed.
Thank you.

Review: When I went to the office I asked them if they took my insurance. They said yes. I took that to mean their office was covered under my insurance. I went in for a tooth cleaning and they told me I needed a specific type of cleaning. I did not realize this business was into upselling additional dental services whether you actually needed them or not. I assumed they were working with my insurance to know what would be covered and what wouldn't be. On the day I was to have my teeth and gums treated, they told me I needed to pay $600 up front. I balked and wondered why my insurance did not cover this as they said it would. They assured me my insurance would cover this and was covering a lot of it, but I needed to pay the $600. We agreed to a payment plan since I could not pay them $600 our of pocket. I finished the payment plan this month, but then I received a notice that $1,500 was owed on the bill. They told me the insurance mailed the check to me and I needed to bring them the check. My insurance did send me a check, but I thought it was to cover the $600 I was already spending on my dental services. When I asked why my bill was so high if my insurance covered the procedure, they told me my insurance did cover it but not all of it. When I said that I meant why was my insurance saying that their dentist office was not covered by my insurance, they explained that I "didn't ask the question right" and that I should have asked if my dental provider would cover their services, or something along that language. That I was at fault because I asked the wrong question. So now I owe $1,500. If I had known my procedure was going to cost $1,500, plus an additional $600 I already paid I would have never used their services. I feel that if they were going to charge this much up front, they should have been much more clear about what I was paying for and that they were uncertain of what my insurance would actually cover for an out-of network provider. I also feel like they should have told me they were out-of-network, but they claim since I didn't ask the question right they were not obligated to make themselves clear.Desired Settlement: I would like the amount I have already paid to be enough. I do not understand why my procedure cost more than $600 when under most circumstances that would be the amount the insurance would negotiate to cover ... if they were actually covered under my insurance, which they misled me about. I received a deep cleaning and some Novocaine for numbing. Several other services they contacted my insurance about did not actually take place. Such as saying I had sealants when I did not have sealants.
