Review: I purchased what was supposed to be a product key to download Microsoft Word from this website (http://appscustomerscare.com/helpdesk/ticket/1055082/?key=fqjdmhmhnjuetwqu). Instead of simply giving the product key, they told me to download a bunch of links, which did NOT download Microsoft Word, but rather led me to download unwanted content onto my computer (i.e. advertising scams). I asked them for help, but they refused to help me or provide me with a phone number I could call to speak with a person who could help me. I did not receive what I paid for-Microsoft Word software.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the amount I was charged for this, as I did not receive what I paid for.

Review: On Feb 12, 2014 I purchased online a license for a personal use copy of Microsoft Office 2013 Professional SP1 software from SOFT Buy LLC ([redacted]). The invoice # was [redacted]. The amount I paid was $142.45 US dollars, using my credit card (card ending with [redacted]). SOFT Buy LLC sent me a link to download the software and I was given instructions on how to activate my license via the customer support website. I was informed on the invoice that the transaction would appear as [redacted] in my bank account statement. The downloaded software installed without a problem and was working fine until I went to open Microsoft Office during the week of Jan 5, 2015. I encountered a message stating that my software was related to corporate or institutional use and also, that it was not activated. The statement also read that if my copy was neither an institutional nor a corporate copy, that it might be counterfeit.

Therefore on 2/8/2015 I wrote an email to SOFT Buy LLC via their website customer support section, described my problem and asked them to tell me how I could re-activate the software, or else to please give me a full refund. I also warned that if they did not provide a response I would be reporting the entire transaction to the proper authorities. I received an automatic support ticket email in response to my email. The following day I received a further response that provided a link to reactivate the software. The email explained that sometimes when Windows gets updated the software can be deactivated. I used the provided link, which went into command prompt in my computer and was able to successfully re-activate for a short time. However shortly after this, the activation again expired and the software stopped working.

The fact that both original website I went to to buy the software ([redacted]) rom as well as the original support customer support website ([redacted]) that emailed the links to download the software no longer exist makes me suspicious about whether the product I purchased from this company is legitimate. In the process of filing this complaint today, I discovered that the website for Softbuy LLC is now [redacted]. So I went to that site, and as able to login and found my account and purchase are still registered, along with links to download and re-activate the software. I have just gone ahead and downloaded and re-installed the software, but Microsoft is telling me that this is an unlicensed version and when I try to activate using the link downloaded zip file from Soft Buy LLC, I am not having success.

My feeling is this software is likely not legitimate and I would be wasting my time trying to get help from the company to activate what seems to be an illegitimate product. The software might even work for a time, then stop working, as it did the last time I went through these steps. Accordingly I would like to get a refund from this company.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a full refund of 142.50 USD from the company Soft Buy LLC. For a number of reasons I am very suspicious about the company and the Microsoft Office 2013 Professional product they sold me. I suspect it is not a legitimate product.

1. The software stopped working sometime after I purchased it. When it stopped working I received a notice from Microsoft saying the product I had on my system was related to institutional or corporate use-- though I had bought a copy of the license from Soft Buy LLC strictly for home personal use.

2. The company's websites for products & customer support both suspiciously vanished; I wasn't notified about their new website address.

3. The very low price I paid for this product was probably too good to be true. It is normally $399 dollars.

4. Today after re-installing and trying to re-activate the software using the written instructions provided at the Soft Buy LLC website, the software has installed but it remains un-activated. I have a feeling even if I contact support and they are able to send me a link by which to re-activate, after a time it will stop working. This is EXACTLY what happened to me before.

I think this company should be investigated to find out if they are selling illegitimate products.

Review: I had purchased Microsoft Office 2013 for $84.95 from soft store, your software discounter, web site address is http://appscustomerscare.com/ and they gave me false information on how to download it. I had contacted the geek squad to try and help me remotely and THEY couldn't do it either. They told me that they had provided me with an invalid link. I tried to contact the website and they did not return my reply. I had also asked for a refund and got no reply. This web site is supposed to have a 24/7 help line. They also have no other contact information or phone number.Desired Settlement: I want my money back. As far as the business information, I had to put my own address and phone number information down because they were required fields and I have no other information to give you. This company had texted me and I tried calling them back with the phone number that they used and it was a disconnected number.
