On Friday, March 27, 2015, I purchased a coffee frother at Soiree, a relatively new kitchen store in Vero Beach The next day, I sat on my living room sofa and proceeded to put in the four required AAA batteries I then turned on the frother, only to find that it was so powerful that I could feel it pulsating all the way up to my elbow I have moderate carpal tunnel syndrome, and I did not want to keep this item I took out the batteries, repackaged the item with all of the packing pieces, and put it back in the box, along with the sales slip Today, April 1, 2015, I went back to the store to return the item, explaining that I did not want to exacerbate my carpal tunnel I was told that I could not return the item, because it was 'used' I explained that I did not use the item, I just unpackaged it, put in the batteries and found it was not suitable for my needs Their return policy, posted on the wall, says if a product is returned, with the sales slip, within seven days, the person will receive back the amount tendered When I pointed this out, the sales guy just looked at me and said, sorry, the item has been used He said there was a mark on the item, and they could not sell it The 'mark' was a tiny imperfection that probably took place during manufacture I certainly did not notice it when I was putting in the batteries, and it would not have bothered me anyway I was told they could give me a store credit I reviewed explained again that I had not used the frother, and I could not understand why I could not have a refund, and all the clerk would say was that the item was used The item was NOT used, but, obviously, he felt I was not being truthful, and I found the innuendo very insulting I guess the days of the customer being right are gone What I know is that I will not be recommending this store to anyone I know There are plenty of other kitchen stores in Vero and surrounding area who treat their customers with respect
