Sokol Home Improvements

Review: Sokol Home Improvements agreed to build a 24x16 addition to my house. The following issues were raised and need to be addressed before continuing the addition: cracked concrete floor, brick on front of structure not even and bowed, new brick needs cleaned, gaps in the subflooring, leaking pipes, siding uneven, facia boards not even with the original structure, soffit is wavy, basement block not tied into original structure, skylights were not installed square and evenly to each other, the side door that was installed or a 2x4 structure not a 2x6 structure (needs to be trimmed out), 2 glass block windows were cracked. Once these issues were brought to the attention of the contractor, he stated he would fix them and he was done and was not going to continue the project. He returned for 2 days, replaced the glass block windows, attempted to fix the soffit and siding and offered to pay for the busting up and re-pouring of the concrete for the basement. The payment was less than half of what it would cost to replace the concrete. The contractor never returned to complete the job or correct any other issues. He has been paid over half of the amount agreed to in the contract for the completion of the project. He refused to return to complete the job and I have a half completed addition. I now have to hire another contractor to complete the job and correct the issues and problems created by Sokol Home Improvements. And the will probably find more issues and they finish the buildDesired Settlement: My desired settlement would be $10,000 for the cost associated with correcting the issues that were presented.
