Solana Highlands Reviews (1)

Review: I had a lease with Solana Highlands that ended in July 2015. I was not given my deposit back unjustly. I was told the apartment I rented had pet damage and would have to pay to replace the carpet. I do own a dog, who NEVER had one accident in the home. I exchanged multiple emails with the newer manager, who shared with me photos to prove the "damage." However, there were no dates on the photos, I feel as though they used old photos to cover their bases so to speak. In addition, throughout my lease. I complained many There is a several lack of attention to these older apartments. I am seeking my full refund of $900 being there was no pet damage. And due to the fact many neighbors, including myself felt they were keeping our refunds to put money back into these nasty and old apartment homes. Another alarming concern. AFTER I signed the lease, I was presented with an asbestos form. I was not comfortable signing a form saying I was OK living in a home where it was known to have traces of cancer causing asbestos. I felt very tricked. Had I known about this asbestos during the initial tour of the apartment home, I would have never signed the lease and never rented from Solana Highlands. The managers [redacted] and [redacted] were nice, however, I felt they never listened any concerns, they simply replied "its corporate policy." These practices and many others are alarming. Having this many maintenance issues in less than 12 months of living somewhere is crazy. I paid my rent and did not receive the service I was promised. Please refund my $900 to my current address [redacted] St. Apt [redacted], CA [redacted]Desired Settlement: Please refund my $900 to my current address [redacted] St. Apt [redacted], CA [redacted]

Response:

Revdex.com Response to Complaint received from [redacted]I have included all of the email communication that I have had with the complainant regarding her security deposit statement as we have had numerous discussions and I have offered photo evidence as well as invoices.I have explained to the complainant and supplied photos and information to substantiate the charges for her move out regarding cleaning and pet damage. I apologized for any negative experiences she had while here and this is the first time I am hearing anything about belng unhappy about signing or “tricked” into the asbestos addendum. We present that form when someone reserves an apartment but at any time if they do not feel comfortable signing and moving in, we do not force them to. They can choose to cancel and not move forward with moving in at all. I could have addressed this issue with her at any time during her occupancy. Our last communication on 8/11/15, I offered to waive the balance due in the amount of $291.34 and just call us even but she inevitably responded that she did not feel that was suffice, I have since not sent their file to collections and have credited off the $291.34 to show good faith. I gave a final response that at that time I had given all the backup and Information that I could give and wished them luck In their new home,If there is any other Information I can provide please let me know.
