The problem turned out to be defective connectors along with a re-stringing of panels.? It took us awhile to ferret out the problem but after doing so, the system performed above design specs.? The monitoring system is in place and the customer can view his system output online.? See attached email from today

The customer is correct when he says he paid for the system on Dec18, 2013.Our only comment is about the permit date. The customer knows that we began the permitting process far before the permitted date of May 11,2014. We generally start the permitting process after the drawings are
complete as they are a required part of the application package. *** *** not only required the drawings and one page form, they required a "hand-drawn, to scale, on their form", plot plan showing not only our work [the panels,] but the septic system and leach field, the electrical trench, the out-buildings, the set-backs, the driveway, the easements, [I could go on and on], along with the dimensions of everything. We couldn't copy the existing one the *** gave us because it was incorrect and out-of-date. It didn't show a small out-building that had been added. That had to be corrected before we could draw our own and apply for the permit. The drawings came back to us because we stated we install according to the latest NEC [National Electrical Code]. They wanted the drawings to state an year old code. We changed the drawings and resubmitted the plans. That added a few weeks. The permit date is the issue date AFTER all the reviews and previous corrections have been made. It is NOT the date you first apply. It has taken us longer than usual to complete this particular system. In fact, I don't believe we will build another system in *** *** due to the archaic permitting process there. We opened an office in*** to handle northern Arizona, but decided to close it because of *** ***. The system is completed. We will prorate the production of the solar panels and send a check to the client, even though there were circumstances beyond our control.?

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I do not feel like the business has even made an attempt to right their wrong.  They are just pushing the blame onto another company.  If there have been several complaints to the company about the same issue and the company has not done a thing to resolve the problem then it is not just "a couple falling through the cracks", it is a company blatantly not sending the gift cards.  This was a scam to get people to buy their product, it does not matter if their advertising is to blame, it is still a part of their company and SCP Solar should honor what they advertise.

I am writing you to let you know that I have not received any correspondence, or the gift card that was promised to me from SCP Solar. I am requesting that the complaint be re-opened. Complaint ID # [redacted]. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to give me a call, ###-###-####.

Dear Sirs,

Yes, our [redacted] [not our company directly] did run a commercial advertising a $100 restaurant card.  Evidentially this couple fell through the cracks somehow.   They no longer are running the ad to include restaurant cards, but we will...

notify the marketing firm.    As far as the agent is concerned, we have NEVER received a complaint on him before.

Regards,

[redacted],

Upon receipt of this complaint, a [redacted] gift card and owner’s business card were mailed to Mrs [redacted] in order to reconcile this matter.
