Solarco, Inc. Reviews (8)

The solar system is working well for me. The Solarco staff were all very professional and punctual for appointment times. When I had any questions or concerns they responded immediately and all questions were answered.

Review: After having a consultation for solar installation we were told we needed to sign a contact to set their offer and move forward with an inspection to see if our house would even qualify for the system they offered. The sales representative told us they weren't even sure the initial quote we received would apply until the engineer came out to inspect our roof. We were told repeatedly we could cancel at any time if we did not feel their system was right for us. After their finance department offered us a very high interest rate we declined to move forward with the system and have since received several harassing phone calls from the sales representative warning us we were losing out to the electric company if we didn't hurry up and move forward with solar. We now have received notice they are going to file a Mechanic's Lien on our property within 30 days if we don't pay them a 10% cancellation fee, or $2,519. We were completely unaware of this policy and it was not discussed when the sales representative told us we were able to cancel at any time no questions asked.Desired Settlement: To be released from the contract without a 10% fee and no further contact from the business.

I have attached the documentation and letter that we have mailed to customer [redacted]. We have retracted the late cancellation fee invoice and no balance is due to us at this time. Please confirm receipt of my email and advise when the complaint will be closed.Sincerely,[redacted]Future Energy SaversVP of Operations

I have had a great experience from start to finish. Communication with every member of this company from sales to installation has been exceptional. I even had an issue where they accidentally turned off my whole house fan while working in the attic. I called and it was fixed very promptly and they were honestly apologetic.

I highly recommend this company.

Customer service was great! Everyone showed up on time and kept me informed of progress throughout.

In the final hours before our system gets turned 'on' by the city! So exciting! SolarCo has performed as expected, with no human errors and with complete visibility along the way. I still can't believe they installed our 6 KW system (30-panels) in a day. Super qualified install team; super clean and professional. I was especially blown away by the fact that in our county, in order to receive the rebate, the new laws pertaining to water-flow/conservation, ie toilets, faucets and shower heads had to meet a certain new spec. SolarCo hired a plumbing contractor to come out and inspect our home for these details and was ready to replace any/all that did not meet the new specs....FREE OF COST! (I was up to date so no replacements) Just saying that I could not believe they would do that! (That particular rebate was only worth $1,400...that's all!) Great job SolarCo!

Finally it's done!

It took little bit longer than I expected.

Solarco did their job with no problem, some delay from SMUD. Up today it's working with no problem, but doesn't cover my usage. It's understandable - California's summer. Let's see what happens next. Thank you Solarco.

Review: Threatened to charge a 10% fee for cancellation after the 3 day time period. That very small line of the contract was NOT pointed out to us when we signed or we would not have signed the contract. It did not appear on their cancellation form for which the salesperson, Mr [redacted] later apologized. We also expected a lowered price when presented with their Neighborhood Advertising Program. When we called to cancel we were told they had performed several administrative actions owing them $2300! We have had no work done at our property except a roof survey to determine the panels needed. That Advertising program stipulated a survey within 24-48 hrs. However, we did not sign that agreement which I've provided to Revdex.com. They should not have proceeded with that work till signed. They could have avoided their business cost for the roof estimate by using [redacted] Maps photos of our rook and related software. There was no disclosure and emphasis of the high interest rate and total costs to us by their in house lender of 8.99%/payback of $41000 where an alternate would have been $28000 @ 6.5%. We had serious doubts at that time and searching for better financing caused us the time interval to decide cancellation. Their cost was initially $25,500 & lowered to $23000 if we didn't require a higher capacity panel-but they still said it would cost $400 for a mini upgrade. Our own research showed our panel of 200Amp would handle the system. We received an alternate estimate from a competitor for approx $18000! SolarCos' policy is they say they will match it. We didn't trust them after all the above deception of the 10% fee, 5000 higher cost, failure to totally reveal alternate panels & choices. Why not present the buyer with more equitable choices? We sent a letter to the owner by email & registered mail requesting cancellation. The owner did not contact us but Mr [redacted] left us a voicemail we needed to talk to him the office manager-why can't the owner cancel but a salesperson we didn't trust.Desired Settlement: the loan docs only came to us on approx 16 Jul - 2 weeks after we signed when the 8.99% became clearer. We are only asking for a total cancellation of all responsibilities & liabilities under their contract which we sent to the owner Mr Advkins. No work or installation was performed except the survey which was effectively NOT authorized by non-signing of the Neighborhood Advertising Program. We emailed and called to cancel.

Review: Threaten to place Mechanic Lien on my property when no work has been done.I have told them I dont want solar and they are using the excuse that I didn't cancel in the 3 days and now they are placing a mechanic lien for 10% = 1650.00.Desired Settlement: Remove the mechanics Lien and leave me alone.
