Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint In response to the statement [redacted] "was clear that the proposal was for the demolition of the house structure only and that the house would have to be tested for asbestos" I would like to call attention to the attached contract: This contract mentions nothing of the need for an asbestos test ( [redacted] said he was sure the house had asbestos and would proceed with all asbestos precautions in place)Furthermore, the quote is for "all structures" on the property which I believe all literate individuals would interpret to mean the whole of standing structures on the propertyI will agree that AFTER the deposit was paid I was informed the amount would not the garage but it was [redacted] 's secretary who contacted me via text message I will disagree wholeheartedly to [redacted] s claim that I had not yet signed a contractI had signed a contract (attached) and paid half downI am unsure what Solid Rock Construction identifies as a contract but generally speaking a signed piece of paper outlining the job to be completed, and a subsequent transfer of funds would be hard pressed to identify as something to the contrary I did obtain other quotes from various companies around town, as suggested by my legal counselI also reached out to the city of [redacted] from which the property in question was purchasedUltimately, the city agreed to buy the property back from me at which time my legal counsel was informed we would be dropping the suit in favor of a more congenial conclusionMy counsel informed Solid Rock of this decision and requested the initial deposit be returnedThat request was made on 7/10/My legal counsel indicated on 7/29/16, “His (Solid Rock’s) attorney has contacted them (Solid Rock), but has not received word back from them regarding the depositI just spoke with him a moment ago.” This email is attachedOn 8/15/I contacted Solid Rock Construction again as the funds have still not been returnedThe secretary stated there was nothing she could do to help meThis entire affair commenced in March of and nearly months later we have yet to receive the $2,deposit we gave Solid Rock Construction for work they never intended to complete at the price we were quotedI, for one, would be pleased to put this vexation behind me; which, at this point, could be easily resolved with the return of said deposit Regards, [redacted]

I would like to clarify a few things, we are a contractor with an outstanding reputation that has completed numerous projects for the State of ***, ***, *** *** as well as the *** ** ***None of these projects in all the years of being in business have we had a complaintI
personally provided *** *** with a proposal to demo the house, I was clear that the proposal was for the demolition of the house structure only and that the house would have to be tested for asbestos, *** *** stopped in my office and paid my secretary $2,down on the demolition of the house, I contacted *** *** and informed him that the amount of $5,did not include asbestos testing, abatement nor the demolition of the garage and that the house demolition alone should actually be around $7,but I was giving him a break. *** *** then demanded me to complete all the work including asbestos testing, abatement and demolition of the garage for the total of $5,850.00, I informed him that neither of us had signed the contract yet and for him to stop by and pick up his deposit, he told me he was going to the courts and forcing me complete all the work for the $5,that he wanted the house gone and that $5,was all he could afford. I was contacted in April by *** Construction to give them an asbestos abatement quote on the structure for *** ***, *** Construction called me back and told me that the quoted the project for around $13,but *** *** stated that was to high. Solid Rock nor *** *** never signed a contractSolid Rock never mobilized to the project and we have not heard from *** *** since March 2016.Best Regards,*** ***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  In response to the statement [redacted]  "was clear that the proposal was for the demolition of the house structure only and that the house would have to be tested for asbestos" I would like to call attention to the attached contract: This contract mentions nothing of the need for an asbestos test ([redacted] said he was sure the house had asbestos and would proceed with all asbestos precautions in place). Furthermore, the quote is for "all structures" on the property which I believe all literate individuals would interpret to mean the whole of standing structures on the property. I will agree that AFTER the deposit was paid I was informed the amount would not the garage but it was [redacted]'s secretary who contacted me via text message.  I will disagree wholeheartedly to [redacted]s claim that I had not yet signed a contract. I had signed a contract (attached) and paid half down. I am unsure what Solid Rock Construction identifies as a contract but generally speaking a signed piece of paper outlining the job to be completed, and a subsequent transfer of funds would be hard pressed to identify as something to the contrary.  I did obtain other quotes from various companies around town, as suggested by my legal counsel. I also reached out to the city of [redacted] from which the property in question was purchased. Ultimately, the city agreed to buy the property back from me at which time my legal counsel was informed we would be dropping the suit in favor of a more congenial conclusion. My counsel informed Solid Rock of this decision and requested the initial deposit be returned. That request was made on 7/10/16. My legal counsel indicated on 7/29/16, “His (Solid Rock’s) attorney has contacted them (Solid Rock), but has not received word back from them regarding the deposit. I just spoke with him a moment ago.” This email is attached. On 8/15/16 I contacted Solid Rock Construction again as the funds have still not been returned. The secretary stated there was nothing she could do to help me. This entire affair commenced in March of 2016 and nearly 5 months later we have yet to receive the $2,925.00 deposit we gave Solid Rock Construction for work they never intended to complete at the price we were quoted. I, for one, would be pleased to put this vexation behind me; which, at this point, could be easily resolved with the return of said deposit.
Regards,
