Solid Rock Security Reviews (2)

This is a very cheap system that our 12 year old was able to dismantle within the first week. Since instillation 1 1/2 years ago the batteries have had to be replaced 5 times. The batteries are supposed to last 3 to 5 years but they did not. Not only that but when the batteries go bad there is annoying alarm that sounds every 5 minutes and does not stop until replaced. They were supposed to replace batteries since they were defective but when called the third time they said they would be right out which was about 9am at 10:30 we called them to ask where they were they said they were on the way, we continued to call them every two to three hours they finally showed up at 5:45pm so seven hours of this torch-er.This happened when we had visitors to the house, when they showed up they said why don't you just get some extra batteries so you can replace them your self. This is not what we signed up for ($40+ dollars a month and $50.00 a year thru the city even thou we don't have it set up that way). What a rip off I could have bought same thing at Harbor Freight and I would still have money in my pocket. I want out of this contract and they can have this junk back. We were hoodwinked.

Review: I hired solid rock to install my home security camaras they first said they would b here on wed. Then they said thrus at noon, the workers didn't show up till 3! Then they put two camaras in and drilled two extra holes (the size of a 50 cent peice) and packed up at 4! They said they would be back between 9 and ten Friday but then no one showed up at all! Don't ever go w this [redacted] company!!!!!!Desired Settlement: For the company to come out and fix this issue

Response:

Hello, This is in response to a complaint made by [redacted] and the work we attempted at his house. [redacted] originally contacted Solid Rock Security on August 23rd at 1:26 pm. He asked us to install security cameras that he had purchased at [redacted]. At that time [redacted] advised [redacted] that we would not install [redacted] cameras and advised that I would give him instruction over the phone, as to how to install and program. He said he would call around and call me back if he needed help. [redacted] called back at 1:35 and asked repeatedly for us to install them for him, and after much resistance [redacted] agreed to install the cameras at $65 per hour to install 4 cameras and program his DVR, and scheduled a start time for the 29th betweed 12 and 4 p.m. [redacted] called to complain on the 28th claiming that we had missed the appointment. He was advised that the appointment was for the 29th and he said he would be home that day for our installer. On the 29th our technician was on a job that took extra time and the technician called [redacted] to let him know he would be late. [redacted] arrived and went through where the cameras should be and started the install. During this time [redacted] decided he wanted to have him install 5 cameras instead of 4. Because the install started late and [redacted] wanted an extra camera [redacted] was not able to complete the install on the 29th. [redacted] called [redacted] at 7:52 PM on his cell phone to complain that the install was not complete. [redacted] advised that there was not a guarantee that the install would be complete in one day, and since he wanted more work done that we would have to return to complete the install. [redacted] was unable to work late because of a personal appointment on the 29th. [redacted] demanded that the install be complete on the 30th. [redacted] advised that we did not have any time on the 30th to complete the job, but offered to have it done over the weekend, and offered to come out on Labor Day even though it was a holiday to get his cameras working. [redacted] said that was not acceptable and yelled using abusive explicit language and said he wouldn't pay for the work that was done and would get someone else to do it and hung up. [redacted] called [redacted] on his cell phone on the 4th at 10:41 AM and the call was missed because [redacted] was on the other line. [redacted] left a message calling Solid Rock employees names and using abusive language again. [redacted] called [redacted] back at 10:58 AM. [redacted] was yelling and cursing about not getting the job completed. [redacted] offered to have a technician come and complete the install and offered several schedule options and explained that installation does not always go as quickly as estimated and because we never evaluated the home we had given no guarantee of time to completion. [redacted] also reminded [redacted] that he had added a camera to the work he wanted and that would take extra time. [redacted] refused to schedule a time and only kept saying bad things about us and how we should have stayed late on the 29th to complete the job on the same day. [redacted] reminded [redacted] that we were installing the [redacted] cameras as a special favor because he kept asking over and over, and [redacted] again offered to set up a time to complete the work. [redacted] took that as an insult, called [redacted] several bad names and hung up. [redacted] tried calling [redacted] back, but [redacted] didn't answer. [redacted] received the following text "When someone calls a company to install somethin that's not a favor it's called there job. When I go to work and move people's furniture it's not a favor I get paid just like ur employees at ur company. I'm done arguing bout this w stupid people im filling a complaint w the Revdex.com this company is a joke and don't even think bout sendin a bill!"

We have made every effort to complete the work requested. It is unfortunate that the work was not complete in one afternoon. There was never a guarantee on how long it would take, and [redacted] advised [redacted] when he requested the work that he could not estimate the amount of time it would take when he was asking how much it would cost. We have never refused to complete the job. I believe [redacted] had an unrealistic expectation of how much time it would take. I don't believe this is a valid complaint to the Revdex.com. If [redacted] would like to follow up we would be happy to complete the work he originally requested.

Thank you
