Solstas Lab Partners Reviews (3)

If there were a half-star on Satisfaction Rating (or a negative), I wouldn't have given Solstas a 1-star review. I had $8 of lab work done in December 2017. I received the bill in January and paid in February. I have received 4 past due notices and each time, called or emailed them and sent them a copy of my check (front and back) and asked why I was getting past due notices. Yesterday I received a 'new' copy of the invoice, same number and still billing me for December.

If I could get my doctor to use another Lab, I would. This is ridiculous. I don't think they realize how much money they have spent sending 4 past due notices and a reprinted copy of the same, PAID, invoice (5526042415) -- I estimate around $300. But they don't pay attention to anything they are told. Does everything have to go to upper management before they fix the problem?

Worse billing practice ever. I have been dealing with them for 4 months over a bill that was covered and they will not listen. Will not ever have any tests done by them ever.

Review: In June of 2012 I had a blood test done as part of a visit to my primary care physician. Or at least that's what the bill I just received indicates -- I can't dispute this because I have no recollection of a doctor visit over a year ago. But the insurance I had at the time would have covered any lab expenses I might have encountered during a doctor visit. For reasons unknown to me, Solstas waited over a year to bill me (or my previous insurance plan?). By the time their bill arrived in my mailbox (early August 2013), I had moved to a new job and was no longer covered by the employer-supplied plan that I had at the time of my supposed blood test. Obviously my new health insurance is not going to cover bills incurred under a different plan, and the old plan is no longer in effect either -- so I am stuck with the bill only due to incompetence on the part of Solstas. And just so it's 100% clear, this is not a bill that I have been delaying payment on. This bill that I just received is the first mention of charges for this blood test that I supposedly had over a year ago. I have paid the bill (mailed today) simply because because I have no desire to risk the bill being sent to a collection agency before it can be negotiated, and because I have no desire to spend countless hours on the phone disputing this unprofessional billing practice.Desired Settlement: I want a refund.

Response:

[redacted] The patient had a date of service for 06/01/2012. It was filed to the insurance listed with the system noted address. There was no response from his insurance for a significant period of time. When the account was researched, it was discovered that we had the incorrect address for the carrier. It was corrected and refiled. The carrier paid 07/12/2013. A balance of $57.65 was remaining and the patient was billed. On 07/22, an additional carrier payment was received for $7.65. This left a balance of $50.00 that was now patient responsibility. Supervisor, P. Morris spoke with the patient on 08/10/2013. It was noted that the patient's concern was that he was not billed until over a year from the service. It was explained to him how that happened and he now understands. However, due to the delay, he patient had to pay the balance due out of pocket. Had this processed on time his HRA would have paid the remaining balance. Since the research and carrier address update took an such a time extension, it is understood that this caused an out of pocket expense for the patient. Because of this, our Patient Billing Supervisor, cleared the $50.00 balance. This patient advised that he sent a check for $57.65 because he paid as soon as the bill was received. The check has not been received and posted in our system. Once it has been received, the patient will be refunded.
