Review: Last year, I was doing refinancing on my house, July 14,2015 I received a check $771.14 - closure refund - I lost the check and when I found it this year I saw "Void after 45 days" so my husband called the company Feb 23, 2015, March 24, 2015 and they said they will send us the check but it never came. I called today April 15, 2015 and I was told "Let me transfer you to the right person" and then the person on the line hung up on me.Desired Settlement: I want the closure refund $771.14 from July 14, 2014 - check needs to be re-issued - I still have the copy of the original check send to me # [redacted], File: 1[redacted]

Review: This refinance took over a month longer than it should have because of Equifax employees. My HUD settlement statement at closing had $624.82 due to borrower. I only received $139.71. I have tried repeatedly over the past 3 months to resolve with several employees at Equifax Settlement Services with no success.Desired Settlement: I would like the $485 that is owed to me plus a refund of what I paid for this service.

This letter is in response to the complaint Solutionstar Settlement Services LLC(formerly known as Equifax Settlement Services, LLC) received from the Revdex.com (“Bureau”) dated 7/24/2013, ID # [redacted]. continues to be committed to the highest standards of regulatory compliance and is pleased to provide you with the following response.

As the settlement agent assigned by our client to conduct the settlement of the consumer’s refinance, part of our role was to create the HUD-1 settlement statement which details the figures and fees involved with the refinance transaction and also names us as the settlement agent. At the time that the HUD was prepared, the escrow reserves were miscalculated causing a funding shortage in the amount of $495.49. Due to such miscalculation, the consumer initially received a check in the amount of $129.33 instead of the required $624.82.

On July 22nd, the consumer called our Irving, Texas office and left a message with one of our agents about her situation and that agent subsequently called her back on the 23rd, leaving a voicemail message for her to assure her that the issue was being promptly investigated internally and invite her to discuss the issue. On the 24th of July, after our agent completed research on the file and verified the error, our agent promptly took the necessary steps to have a check for the $495.49 amount issued and proceeded to mail such check on that same day to the consumer’s home address on file. Upon receipt of the check we issued to the consumer on the 24th, the total amount she will have been paid to date equals $624.82, which matches what the signed HUCD-l settlement statement shows as the amount she was due. As such, we are pleased to inform the Bureau that our resolution of this matter predates the date of the Bureau’s letter on July 24th. The consumer should receive the check any day if they don’t have it already.

We are pleased to continue our mission of serving consumers in Pennsylvania and nationwide in an efficient and customer-friendly manner. To that end, we would like the opportunity to address the consumer’s comment of having placed multiple calls to our offices without a response. Upon further review, we do not have any record of such calls being routed to us and, per our ordinary course practices, promptly resolved the inadvertent error upon receipt of the consumer’s voice-mail message..

We trust that this matter is now resolved and would be happy to provide any additional information to the Bureau that will help to achieve prompt closure. Enclosed for your convenience, you will find a copy of the signed HUD-1 settlement statement from the consumer’s refinance along with a ledger from our escrow system which evidences the check being issued on the 24th. These documents are being enclosed separately on a confidential basis to you as they contain consumer-specific information.
