This company is awful! The company called to set up a "free" home estimate after we had submitted a request at the fair We have a large picture window and door we need replaced Over the coarse of three days they called times getting progressively more pushyThings like, "this window could cost up to $20,000.00" Seriously? Anyway we wanted an actual salesman to come who knows Anderson products and give us a realistic estimate, not what a paper pusher "thinks" it could costOn the 5th call they "demanded" we run our credit for a pre-approval When I told them we had independent financing or cash to pay, the representative said ok and finally let me off off of the phone Then at 8pm that night we got another call that something came up and they can't make the appointment at 9am the next day and would call us when they could re-schedule Are you kidding me? After calls in three days confirming the appointment they can't make it? Obviously they want to finance their projects This should raise huge red flags for any buyer! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!

The complaint is not for glass..it was for the screens ...the sunroom has sliding windows with screens on the outside They always said just bring them to us and we will replace any damaged screens for free, for the life of the room When I called them about bringing them in, I was told to call True Value, that they redo screens, but I have to payTrue Value referred me to Martins Glass I asked about the warranty that I and many others had, and was rudely told no If you look at the certificate that I send of the lifetime warranty, it states it in there about the screens...it says screens brought to Solvay Glass will be repaired at no charge as long as the homeowners own their house...the windows are fine....it's just the screens and Martins Glass replaced them, and did a great job, but it cost $with tax......I am only looking for them to share the cost....Thank you[redacted]

Revdex.com: I have review [redacted] the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determin [redacted] that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I review [redacted] appear below At first I thought they must be kidding, they're willing to honor their homeowner's lifetime warranty by charging me nearly $for a guy to come out with no guarantee that he can or will fix the problem The warranty paperwork they sent in their last Revdex.com response was clearly for a different product as a batchtub is not a seasonal item and what they sent references it being cover [redacted] for years or twelve seasons Since they sold the bathtub remodel with a homeowner's lifetime warranty; and I'm the homeowner (and I don't know any homeowners who only lived years) they remain obligated to honor their agreement I'm unwilling to pay $or any amount to them for work they are obligated to do for free Regards, [redacted]

I received a call from Solvay Glass this morning, December 2, The message stated that the young woman was from Solvay Glass, and she asked me, by name, to call her right back I was confused because I knew that we hadn't done any recent business with the company Imagine my surprise when I found that this was a marketing call and they were trying to sell me some of their products Call me back right away? For a marketing call? I am inundated with telemarketers calling me day and night - now I have to call them back? I will never use Solvay Glass again

RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below it is not enough for Solvay Glass to make a blanket statement claiming never to contact us again through your websiteWe are demanding that Solvay Glass send us a letter telling us that they will never contact us againThey must put the letter on their letterhead which should show the name of the firm, actual legal address of the firm, actual legal phone number of the firm and be signed by the owner(s) of the firm and be mailed to us at: [redacted] Without such letter in our hands, we will not accept their claim to never bother us againIf we receive another call from them, we will treat the call as criminal harassment Regards, [redacted]

When our senior technician went out after Ms [redacted] expressed her concerns he spoke with Mr***He did not have any contact with Ms***He explained to Mr [redacted] that the two pieces of side trim would need to be removed from the door so that he could get a piece of wood in place so the door would be better secured [redacted] felt that the screws we not making sufficient contact with the framing [redacted] explained that the scuffs/scratches on the door were superficial and they could be repaired and repainted as newHe also offered a new door panel and Mr [redacted] said there was no reason for thatOur team went today 9/7/to complete all necessary adjustments and we also had our professional painter there to complete any painting and assured Ms [redacted] that if there were any additional adjustments or services required we would be happy to assist

We have sent a letter to the *** home stating we will not contact that in any way again

I have no interest in going back and forth on this issue or using CAPITAL LETTERS TO MAKE MY POINTThe bottom line is that I have an issue with my bath tub liner. ***, you did tell me that *** had spoken with Luxury Bath regarding our issue. To say that no one from Solvay Glass spoke to anyone @ Luxury Bath is a bold face lie and not deserving of a further commentShame on you
I will pursue whatever steps necessary to have our situation remediedI am disappointed in Solvay Glass and their handling of our issue. I will think twice about using a small, local company in the future for fear of this type of reaction and lack of professionalism

Again,we agree this is an unfortunate situation, however the Solvay Glass warranty as outlined previously is for seasons (years) on the installation The product warranty was for years The *** purchased the windows over years agoWe still have the same solutions available to help The glass and seal service provided in home or in our repair shop Both of these estimates reflected a 50% reduction

Please accept this letter as our apology for the frustration you have experienced.  We have made sure to delete ALL of your information from any source of our marketing efforts.  We will not be contacting you in the future.

At first I thought they must be kidding, they're willing to honor their homeowner's lifetime warranty by charging me nearly $100 for a guy to come out with no guarantee that he can or will fix the problem.  The warranty paperwork they sent in their last Revdex.com response was clearly for a different product as a batchtub is not a seasonal item and what they sent references it being cover** for 3 years or twelve seasons.  Since they sold the bathtub remodel with a homeowner's lifetime warranty; and I'm the homeowner (and I don't know any homeowners who only lived 3 years)  they remain obligated to honor their agreement.  I'm unwilling to pay $100 or any amount to them for work they are obligated to do for free.

Solvay glass Homeowners lifetime warranty states..."Upon discovery of defects(products not performing as originally intended) SOLVAY GLASS OF CNY,LLC, will replace at no charge to the original homeowner any or all defects. SOLVAY GLASSOF CNY,LLC, reserves the right to replace defects with available parts recommended by the manufacturer only and if still produced. Note glass and screens brought to SOLVAY GLASS OF CNY,LLC, will be repaired at no charge for as long as the homeowners own their house. Labor for installed products must be done by qualified Solvay Glass technicians and is warrantied for twelve seasons of use from the original date of installation."
All criteria are met..1) window still produced  2) I still own my house  3) Solvay glass notified within 12 seasons of original installation.
windows should be replaced at no charge to the original homeowner. I am not sure how much clearer the SOLVAY GLASS Homeowners Lifetime Warranty can be??

We did in fact have two conversations with this homeowner.  I am attaching the letter along with the warranty information outlining the coverage.  Luxury Bath is still in business and has dealers that can assist these folks with their issues.  The service warranty expired; (see...

attached)  It was for 12 seasons ago (3 years).  In addition to which, we are no longer a Luxury Bath dealer.  We do not have a plumber on staff as we don't do these types of projects any longer.  Our only focus is shower doors in our glass division.  I have encouraged the homeowner to contact Luxury Bath and have attached their contact information.[redacted]Business Manager

I have a completely different warranty  that was provided to me in the packet of documents when I made the purchase.  We were also told by the salesman that it was a lifetime warranty due only to the original owners.  We are the original owners.  I have a feeling that Solvay Glass no longer installs these inserts because they had more trouble with the inserts than their financial worth. Now Solvay Glass washes its hands of the matter.
I do not understand [redacted]'s statement, "water has gotten under your tub... we feel a plumber may be needed to find the source of the water." I can tell you the source;  water is trapped in-between the layers.  I would bet my bottom dollar that the overflow has something to do with the trouble but I am not a plumber nor should I have to seek one out.   About  the only conversation with [redacted] we had;  he had stated that he hadn't gotten back to us because he was having trouble finding a plumber.  We had a plumber @ our house, which we told Solvay Glass. Our plumber did not say that the plumbing was the source of the leak.  In fact he recommended that the liner be taken out, the area drained of the standing water and dried out before reinserting the liner. The reason we initially refused a plumber from Solvay Glass was because [redacted] wanted the plumber to just seal the leak with no proposal on how to drain the standing water or dry out the tub. If Solvay Glass is so certain that it is our plumbing that is the culprit;  then okay, send a plumber over on their dime. I have shelled out enough.  I prefer not to accelerate a health hazard and further endanger myself or my husband by not addressing the potential black mold growing in-between my tub and  the tub liner.
No, this is totally unacceptable.  I have never dealt with such unprofessional people that don't return calls and hide behind a letter.  Apparently they don't subscribe to their customer service actually servicing their customer.  Solvay Glass does stand behind the products they sell or the guarantees (a.k.a. warranties) they promise. As I stated before, I will be out of town starting (tomorrow) 10-10-14, through 10-21-14. They have taken close to a month to address this issue how about a return of that courtesy and at least give me until I get back to see if their can be some accommodation made by Solvay Glass other than for us to incur more cost.  Thank you.

The [redacted] purchased windows over 12 years ago.  Their manufacturer is no longer in business so the warranty on the product is no longer in effect.  Our workmanship warranty (attached) is for 3 years.  We initially tried to get in touch with the manufacture to get new sashes and were...

informed of this unfortunate fact at that time.  We did advise Mr. [redacted] on several occasions that the manufacture is no longer in business and that his Solvay Glass warranty was on the installation for 3 years.  We have offered a 50% off rate on glass and seal replacement (which is why we went out to measure) which Mr. [redacted] refused.  We are still willing to perform the glass and seal replacement on the 2 sashes for the quoted amount.  The only other option would be for Mr. [redacted] to purchase 2 new windows with us.
