Somers Siding, Inc.

Review: On June 18, 2014 we entered into an agreement with Somers Siding to re-roof our house per the contract dated June 2, 2014. The roofing started on or around July 7th. Since that time we have had consistent quality and now responsiveness issues with this contractor. We have taken many photos to document the problems [redacted] left us. To date, we have had leaks in at least seven separate areas of our house where there had been none before work began. Overall we find:Very poor quality of workmanship:Shingles which do not overlap.Shingles which are bent up against the chimney.Inadequate flashing around the chimney.Inadequate flashing around the area where the garage and roof line meet.During the initial roofing, the contractor neglected to cover the roof; it rained and created several serious leaks which soaked the walls and ceiling of the interior of our house. We have started the recovery process by getting a company to remove damaged drywall and dry out our house. The contractor said he would cover this and call his insurance. This has not been done.During the roofing, the back gutter was damaged. Somers attempt at repairing the gutter left us with a gutter-patch which droops downward and now leaks.Leaking at the area where the garage roof butts up against the main house.Unresponsive contractor:During the initial construction, the contractor did not properly protect our house. A lot of damage occurred. After much delay and promises of giving us his insurance information, the contractor ([redacted]) promised to call this into his insurance company on August 1st. To date, we have had no response from [redacted] and his insurance has not been activated.We have emailed, left voice mails, and sent a registered letter with no response.Desired Settlement: We ask that [redacted]Somers Siding open a claim with their insurance company immediately so that we can have our house repaired.We have already paid out almost $2,000 to mitigate the damage caused by [redacted] carelessness and incompetence. We still need to have our house repaired and are currently living with open walls in several places.
