Review: This company also owns Tobacco Alley, which sold me an Electronic Cigarette. I purchased this item under two weeks ago from this date of March 26 2014. This item as of 3 days ago no longer operates as it should. The battery bought does not attach properly to the charger anymore to get a charge, nor does it activate the part of the e-cigarette that produces the vapor. There is no physical damage to the device, it just no longer works due to some defect within the device itself. Upon attempt to return said battery, 2 days ago, because of the defect, I was informed that he would not replace this item for me and contacting him today, he refuses to take responsibility of selling defective merchandise, and has informed me he has refused to do the same to any customer who has had issues with this product. I feel that it is unethical, and very unbusiness-like to refuse to back up an item they sell, and have many cases of issues with said item. I feel that if they are unwilling to acknowledge that the product, with many complaints against it, is defective, and continue to sell said item, knowing full well that there are issues with it, that they are responsible for any and all issues encountered as they are willingly and knowingly selling defective products.Desired Settlement: I will accept at this time no less than a full refund of the purchase price of the Battery in question of $15, as well as the refund of the purchase price of the clearomizer (price of $4.95) sold with it as I cannot guarantee that any battery I get elsewhere will fit the said clearomizer sold with this battery. Total refund of $19.95 is requested.

We at Somerset Candy Company Inc and Tobacco Alley are proud of the relationships we build with our customers as a locally owned business. It is never our intention to upset a customer whatever the circumstances may be, and strive to supply our customers with quality merchandise at the best prices while being as transparent as we can be in the way we conduct business.

With this in mind we have clearly posted at all our stores that we can not accept returns on the Ego electronic cigarettes. This is not due to there being a history of complaints about the products as Mr [redacted] suggests, but due to the fact that the manufacturer which supplies them will not accept returns. As the clerk initially tried to explain this fact to Mr [redacted] and I in a phone conversation later that day, Mr [redacted] in both instances became belligerent and hung up. After using the unit for several weeks Mr [redacted] states that there is no physical damage to the unit but also states that the battery does not attach properly anymore. I would have liked to have had the opportunity to ask more about this as I do not understand how that suddenly may happen. Our clerks test every single battery prior to the sale to ensure that it's in working condition so our customers are not disappointed by a unit that may be defective resulting in a poor shopping experience at our stores.

We strive for 100% customer satisfaction knowing full well that it is unattainable. Some people just believe that if they don't receive the answer they are looking for, they can throw a temper tantrum to achieve their desired result. I feel this is the case with Mr [redacted]. Although we never like to lose customers, but in this case I believe Mr [redacted] would be better served elsewhere as we do not expect our employees to endure offensive behavior.
