Good morning, I just received notice of a complaint filed against Somerset Motor Cars by [redacted]. Miss [redacted] purchased her 2007 [redacted] with 122,072 miles on 4/28/2015. This vehicle carries a 30 day 1250 mile warranty. The vehicle did not have a check engine light on when she took...

delivery. If it had a check engine light on, it could not pass the Massachusetts inspection. It did pass inspection. I feel that we have gone way out of our way to try to keep Miss [redacted] happy. The repairs that we did under during the warranty period included installing a new power window motor and regulator at no charge to the customer. There was never a head gasket repair done by us. We also replaced a tie rod end under warranty, again at no charge to the customer. At the time of the sale Miss [redacted] did purchase a 4 year limited warranty. In the beginning of October 2015 Miss [redacted]s needed to have her engine replaced due a rod knock and a hole in the engine casing. The extended warranty paid $1000 of this engine replacement out of a total cost of $2887.14. Even though it was 5 months out of our warranty, the customer paid nothing towards the repair. Somerset Motor Cars paid the remaining $1887.14 as a good faith gesture, not because we had to. After that repair was done, I was told by the customer that now the car needs a catalytic convertor and they wanted us to pay for this also. Even though we did not have to do anything I had thought about trying to help them a little bit with the cost of the convertor. A couple of weeks went by and I received a call from [redacted]s father telling me that if I don’t pay for the cost of the repair, he was going to come up here and “KICK MY [redacted]”. This conversation was reported to the Somerset Police Department. We will help anyone, we have never had a complaint with the Revdex.com but when physical violence is threatened we have to draw the line.
