Something Spunky Childcare

We were never given a copy of our contract signed on May 16, 2019. On this contract, it was specified we would pay 2,400$ monthly for both children starting in September 2019. On May 16, 2019, we also gave a check of 1,800$ as a deposit in addition to 600$ already paid by check on September 26, 2018.

On Oct. 1, we were notified by text message that we had to make bi-weekly payments instead of monthly payments. When we asked for clarification about what that meant regarding our tuition, we were informed we would not be "overcharged." We asked for a meeting, managed to obtain one only on Oct. 7, but the owners of the childcare did not show up. We were finally able to meet with them only on Oct. 14. They then informed us that we would have to pay 3,600$ that month instead of 2,400$.

On Nov. 8, our youngest child, Raphael, was not properly supervised and fell while at the daycare (the kids were at a close by playground). After consultation, it appeared Raphael had a fractured clavicle. Raphael missed many days due to this incident and it took one month before he fully recovered from the fall. But we got no refund.

On Jan. 23, both owners, Tyneesha D and Saquetta H handed us a termination notice based on the fact our family was not "a good fit" anymore. They spent 45 minutes yelling at us in front of our kids because we had been asking over and over for safety concerns to be resolved. We had just paid 1,200$ for both children. Our deposit was not refunded, neither was this last payment.
