Review: I'm righting this for my elderly Mom [redacted] who is 76 years old. She doesn't know how to use a computer and is not in the best of health. [redacted] of United Van Lines told my Mom that her belongings were destroyed in the move. Some of these items are a an antique bar, antique tables, kitchen items, clothes..... [redacted]'s company has refused to show my Mom any proof of the damage. They showed her no proof at all that her items were destroyed in the move. They have not paid for any of the items damaged. I really think that [redacted]'s company has stolen my elderly Mom's items. It is illegal for his company to not provide proof of the damage and not to give my Mom her damage furniture back so she can make up her mind to see if it can be fixed. I want United Van Lines of Chico, California to give my Mom back all of missing items, provide proof if they were damaged, give her the money back those items were worth. My Mom is missing over 5,000 dollars of her belongings. She is elderly and United Van Lines is taking advantage of her. They have also damaged over 6,000 dollars of furniture that they did give her back too. They refuse to have their insurance pay back my Mom. They sent out people who didn't fix my Mom's furniture in her house that they did bring back to her. I want [redacted]'s company to give back my Mom's belongings or pay for them. They have committed fraud and are abusing an elderly person. It is 100% illegal for them to tell my Mom that her things were damaged and provide no proof/no payment for them. They owe my Mom over 10,000 dollars of damage.Desired Settlement: I want United Van Lines to give my Mom the money back for her damage furniture that she did receive back. I want United Van Lines to give my Mom back the money for the items that they say were damaged in the move but have yet to provide that proof. It is clear that [redacted] has conned my Mom. My Mom paid for insurance through them and United Van Lines is refusing to give back her money for everything that is damaged and missing. Please help my elderly Mom from United Van Lines abuse of the elderly.

Mrs. [redacted] is the daughter of one of our clients, Mrs [redacted]. I have been instructed to not respond to Mrs. [redacted] by Mrs. [redacted] because Mrs. [redacted] does not have all of the facts and does not represent her mother. That being said, these are the facts of the issues:1: Our company moved, stored and moved back Mrs. [redacted]'s household belonging from and back to Redding, CA.2: Some minor damage to her belongings occurred.3: I made two trips from Chico to Redding to help Mrs [redacted] settle in. One which was to touch-up the minor damage.4: While make the some of the repairs, Mrs [redacted]'s daughter called and basically ask us to leave.5: The daughter wanted to file a formal claim and deal only with the insurance company.6: The formal claim was filed with my assistance.7: Our insurance company arranged a repair firm to make the repairs and settled the claim.8: A balance of over $700 was stilled owed, which I forgave and wrote off as a bad debt. The claims made by Mrs. [redacted] are just not accurate and are coming from a person who just does not have the facts. I believe the are well intended but in fact not helping her mother. Please give me a call if any additional information is needed. Thanks,[redacted]

I contacted Sorenson in Chico, CA for a move from Northern to Southern California- 600 miles.

Norm has been EXTREMELY helpful, flexible, and professional every step of the way. Everyone else I have spoke with has been, as well. I have had a lot of questions and concerns regarding pricing as well as assurance of safe transfer of my goods, since this is the first time I am moving with a service. Although multiple loads are placed in the same truck (semi truck), he explained their inventory and loading process in detail. He took a lot of time to talk with me during my initial quote inquiry, and was very honest about what I could expect.

I requested quotes with many other moving companies in the Chico area, and found that only a couple companies would offer the same rate, however, those companies seemed to have many pricing rates/fees, were defensive or impatient when answering questions, rude, or sounded like over-the-top too good to be true salesmen. The well known and trusted moving company, Two-men-and-a-Truck would be ideal in any moving situation, BUT their pricing was a little more than 2 times that of Sorenson.

A couple companies offered slightly higher rates but in smaller trucks or a single small moving truck. But, Sorenson always came out on top. One of these companies in particular, located in Grass Valley, had a great sales pitch, but would not inventory the goods, and tried to persuade me from buying any insurance on my goods multiple times... after feeling less than confident, I came across some horrible reviews on the company regarding damaged and lost items.

All in all, I have made the decision to move with Sorenson and my goods are en route to my destination. I will update the review when my goods are delivered. I feel confident that all will continue to go smoothly.
