Sincerely,

Thank you for allowing SOS Fuels the opportunity to respond to this complaint. I appreciate the claim *** *** submitted in reference to a refund on the "unused' portion of the service agreement. We take pride in our work and always appreciate feedback from our customers.
Upon review of your account, I am pleased to inform you that a refund check will be mailed shortly based on the calculations stated below. The service agreement renews automatically on the anniversary date and the agreement did in fact renew on January of 2014. The customer received an annual tune up and cleaning as part of the service agreement on or about November **, at no charge. The tune up is in preparation for the upcoming 2013/heating season and is included at no charge under the renewing agreement. The rate for the tune up is $plus tax. The difference between the agreement amount ($335) and the tune up amount ($199) is $136.00. After deducting months under the Agreement (January through August) a pro rated refund in the amount of $is due and owing. A check will be sent in the mail within days.Thank you for your years as a dedicated customer and the time you spent as part of our family. I wish you the best in your endeavors and happy holidays to you and your family!

Review: I was a customer for many years. My wife notified them to cancel our service contract and fuel delivery with them effective August *, 2014 via a fax. We tried to call them August [redacted] They automatically renewed our furnace service plan in January 2104, $335 plus tax, for the year. My wife explained we didn't want their services anymore, we found a vendor that will supply fuel oil much cheaper, cancel delivery and cancel our service contract and she would expect a small pro rated refund from the contract payment made in January 2014. My wife called them on August *, 2014 and spoke to [redacted]. She tried to convince us not to cancel said she would meet the price of the other fuel company. My wife explained again, the refund issue with the service contract. My wife called again on August [redacted] and spoke to [redacted] and explained why we would expect a prorated refund. We told her we paid in full for the year 2014, canceled August [redacted]. Never used the contract and as in any insurance, hoomeowners, car, etc. we would expect a refund. She said she would talk to [redacted] and call back. She called back and said no, no refund, she stated #5 in the contract states no refunds. My wife explained she doesn't have a copy of the contract and never signed one, the total was automatically paid by our credit card and the company never sent a contract. The contract runs from January through December. My wife emailed the company at [redacted] and again explained the situation. No courtesy of a reply we only an auto message that he is away from his office. To date we haven't heard a word from SOS fuels. I object that they can take from me, a consumer, a full year service contract, we never used it, and so they keep our entire payment. I object to the poor customer service they offer.Desired Settlement: I paid them $335 in full in January 2014 for a one year service contract. Never used the contract, canceled August *, 2014. I never signed a contract, never received a copy of the contract. Terrible company to deal with. I would expect a pro-rated refund of $139.60. I am not concerned about any tax .
