This doctor performed surgery on my large active dog when he tore his ACL last year. I was told that he specialized in type of knee surgery that would allow my dog to lead a normal life and that my dog would walk back out the day of surgery when currently he could not use the leg. After surgery he did not walk out. They said it was ok that he was being dramatic and that he would walk soon. They then told me to come back to them for physical therapy. I did. My dog did not walk for 5.5 weeks. The total recovery was only supposed to be 8 weeks. So finally I thought we were on the right track. A couple of months ago my dog became lame again same leg. I took him to a different vet this time. That vet took x-rays and to everyone's shock discovered that my poor dog had a metal wire holding his knee together. This is not appropriate medical practice per 3 vets one who is a board certified surgeon. They said that my dog had the equivalant of a rock in his shoe all that time while he was being "dramatic". I was horrified. My dog suffered greatly this entire time plus had to endure the surgery again performed by an appropriate doctor. Additionally due to all the stress on the other leg it gave out. So my poor dog has had to go through 24 + weeks of recovery and 3 surgerys in the past year. Not to mention my whole family has suffered. Taking care of a lame pet is NOT easy nor cheap. After the last two surgeries my dog has walked out after surgery and is on schedule with this recovery. I guess the dog wasnt feeling so dramatic this time.
