Review: Ms. [redacted] of Sotheby's International Realty, Santa Barbara, California rented me a vacation home for 3 nights (June 15-18). In the morning of June 17, we found lots of ants in the kitchen. One of us is allergic to ants, so I called Ms. [redacted] at ~8:30am and requested that she takes care of the problem. She refused and asked me to buy pest control chemicals and treat the ants by myself. Our planned stay was for only 3 days, and she promised me that everything would be just like a hotel. None of the hotels I know of would ask a guest to take care of the pest problem. When I presented my arguments, she handed up the phone. So we had no choice, but leaving the house and move to another hotel in Downtown Santa Barbara (I have the hotel receipt). I texted Ms. Fatima that we were going to checkout the house by 10 am on June 17 (instead of June 18, as planned), and she responded (via text message): "OK". I have all the text message exchanges on my record. Since we did not stay there for the last night and since our early check out was caused entirely by the pest issue that the owner refused to resolve, I requested refund for the last night ($200 + 12% tax = $224) from Ms. [redacted]. Despite my multiple attempts via e-mail in getting the refunds, she refused. In the most recent e-mail she was very rude by saying "go away!". The ant issue made our vacation very unpleasant. This was the only vacation we took in 4 years. I kindly ask your help to request her issuing us a refund which we are entitled to.Thank you.Joe ZhouDesired Settlement: Refund of $224 for the night of June 17, on which we did not stay at Ms. Nuray's rental property in Santa Barbara.

Sotheby's International Realty was not compensated in any way with this rental. [redacted] was acting on her own and as such, I have no way to rectify the situation.
I certainly sympathize and understand the tenants frustration at the current situation they find themselves in.
