Revdex.com spoke with the business today and they stated that the consumer continued to change the scope of the work throughout the project which was the reason for the increase in cost He felt he should not have to pay for the upgrades that were addedThere were invoices which were issued and
paid as work was completed Upon receipt of the invoice in February, he had issues with the cost He stated he would get a second job and take out a home equity loan.He actually owes $58,if you take into account the actual hours that were invested in the car and I am willing to accept the $36,that I have invoiced him for because he was upset with the cost so I reduced the hourly labor rate to reduce the bill to assist him.It was supposed to be a year project and we received it months agoHe wanted to be able to drive it on his birthday so we invested the time to try to complete it for him The car is near complete, only a few parts need to be put onHe wants to take the car, but is refusing to pay for the work The customer told us he would purchase inner fender wells to enable us to install the hood, the front grill and fenders I can put the hood, grill and fenders on without the inner fender wells and the car is complete Because the vehicle is a Impala, new parts are not available The parts had to be located and restored and as the project moved along, there obviously were added costs due to restoration of parts and also restoration of the body There were many statements that were made by the customer regarding the time frame of work that was performed There are many photos available that were taken with employees phones so they are time stamped and can be provided if necessary.The business states that he has received a letter from the customer's attorney The consumer came in and offered $20,and the business could not accept thatThe attorney's letter states that the customer will pay $10,000.00.The business states they have turned the information over to their attorney

To Whom It May Concern: Bill was very aware of the labor rate for the shop, it is posted and I will send you a picture of it. Bill also made change the scope of the work many times during the course of the work being done which in turn made his bill go up past the talked about amount by more than $14,000.00. Bill was in the shop at least once a week during the entire build. He was very aware that everything he was adding was making the cost of the build go up. The end result is this car is gorgeous and flawless. Bills wife has since stopped in and we are working toward a resolution to make both sides happy.
