We hired *** ***/Owner from True Green Grass to complete our yard with installation of pavers, sprinkler and drip system including automatic timer, sod and installation, retaining wall flower bed, fence and gate for dog run,water line to dog run, repair of cinder block wall,security lights, coach lightsPrior to hiring *** we had him come out to our home and measure everythingHe asked us what our limit was for spending and we advised him cap was He stated he would get a price quote out to usWe advised Mr*** of specifics as to paver, gate/fence for dog run and also blocks for retaining wallWe had also sent him pictures and pricesMr*** sent me a price and I asked him for a break down on everythingOur total was Mr *** requested half for down payment to secure our date and when asked for a time frame he stated, " I will only take days to complete." We were given a start date of 3/28/and job to be completed on 3/30/A certified check#*** in the amount of $was issued by *** *** *** *** *** to *** *** on 3/11/weeks and days prior to the start dateMr*** advised that he has been doing business for several years and his company handles everything that we needed doneThis was important to me as a customer so that I didn't have to contact several people if something was to go wrongWork on our yard started on 3/28/On Sunday march 30th Mr*** and his workers started laying the sod in our backyardOur family left for church service on March 30th and I received a text message from Mr*** stating that they were wrapping things up and were finished around 1:00pmHe informed me he would have to come back on Monday March 31st to finish a few things like cinder block wall and fence/gate for dog runI sent Mr *** a text message informing him that the pallet of sod that was in our driveway was missing along with my husbands shovels, pick axe and rakeI asked if he could look incase they took themDidn't mind them using them but just wanted the accounted forHe informed me that whomever took the grass it was their loss and that yes he had tools and would be returning themOn Monday March 31st at 3:58pm I received a text message from Mr*** asking if I was homeI informed him no I was workingHe stated that he was heading over to the house to put the fence/gate in and he wanted to speak to us about the electricalI informed him that I would be home around 5:30pm and asked if there was a problemmr *** informed me that his guy he uses for electric al is gone and isn't sure when he would be back in town and stated that he thought it would be best to cancel this part of the job for nowI asked Mr*** if he had a back up since we had already went out and purchased over in lights and I also informed him that the retaining wall/flower bed was to be 3-4ft tall as we discussed and when we measured it was and it was only 2ft tallI asked Mr*** if this would be fixed since this is not what we asked for or what he promised to doWhen I arrived home Mr*** had not yet responded to my text message reg arding fixing the retaining wall/garden bedMy husband *** *** spoke with him and he said he would fix itOn April 1st at 7:36am I received a text message from mr*** stateing that he would be over this afternoon to add rows to the wall and pour the concrete for the fenceI asked Mr*** to let me know to let me know when he was on his way so that we could secure our dog inside.I also asked about a drain system for our yard so that it wouldn't floodI was informed by Mr*** that he had placed it all under ground and that it would flow undergroundMr *** texted and stated he would be over to our home in minutesMr*** never showed to our home as promised on April 1stI sent him more text message and messages via *** with no reply or explanationAt 7:00pm on April 1st I received a text message from Mr***'s cell phone stating the person was texting was ***'s wife ***She informed me that her husband was home with the stomache flu and was sleeping but she would have him get back to me when he got upI informed *** *** that I wanted to know if I should expect any workers to comeI didn't get any response back from *** or *** ***On April 2nd still not hearing anything from Mr*** I sent a *** message to his wife *** informing her that I was concerned about the sod that was installed that it appears to be shrinking and dying in a few areasI was afraid that if something went wronf Mr*** would need to replace the grass*** *** informed me that her husband was very sick and still in bed but she would ask him when he wakes upApril 2, at 5:07pm I received a text message from Mr *** stating he was very sorry how everything has gone down and that he would be over Saturday to finish everything upHe informed me that the grass will start holding water better with time and growing togetherI responded back to Mr*** that Saturday April 5th we would not be home and we would have no way to contain our dogI informed him that he could come home Sunday since we would be homei also informed him that I had leaking pipes by the back patio and that they had cut the pipe to short, the water pipe down the dog run needed to be secured (as he had stated he would do) also the electrical times for sprinklers that he secured to the stucco of my home wasn't done properlyThey had used regualr screws instead of ones ment for stuccoMr*** never responded to this text messageHe never scheduled a time to come on Sunday to finish his jobOn Wednesday April 3rd I sent Mr *** a text message advising him that my husband would be working in our yard and that Sunday there was an extra bag of sand that was in our wheelborrow that was used for the paversI advised Mr*** that several pavers are loose and/or have no sand especially down the dog runI asked him if he or the crew had picked it up when they left beca use it was there on SundayI asked him to please let me know that we are trying to get our yard completed, glued together and finishedAt 9:07am I received a text from Mr *** stating, " Yes I have the sand." This was the last message that I ever received from Mr***I received no other messages from him that he planned on coming back or a time for Sunday when we would be homeI feel as a customer that I should't have to be chasing the owner of a business down to complete a job that we agreed on and further more if your not able to deliver what is promised to your customer you should inform then upfront and not cut cornersMy husband and I are now in the process of completing the work that Mr*** didn't completeHe also had dismanteled out drip system to our front yard and the drip system that he indicated he placed in the flower bed is either not connected or is done wrongI waited to hear from Mr*** until Saturday April 5th when he stated he would come over in the morning, giving him the benefit of doubt that maybe he misunderstood and still had intentions of comingI waited until almost 10:00am and then sent him an emailThis is a copy of what was sent to Mr***:

to be completedThank you for your timeThe following is a list of items that were not completed or that are in need of fixing that were brought to your attentionI believe that the payment you were issued is more than sufficent since we are now having to go back over what has been done and fix the items below* Cinder block that was placed in wall needed to be cemented in* Dog run area isn't complete*** had advised that he was going to make the fence and build it with cinder blocks and place a gate in the middle to make it sturdyThe man we spoke with that brought the fencing asked us if we wanted it anchored to the house or concretedIf there were any change in our plans from our original conversation we should have been notified* Raised Garden bed was to be 4ft high and ft deep as we discussed when you came over and spoke to usOn completion we inspected it to find it is approx 2ft tallIf we didn't go inspect it and bring that to your attention as *** did it would have been left that wayThe right side of the garden bed at the curve instead of placing a piece of the stone there is rocks pushed in there*** has gone to lowes and purchased the remaining blocks to finish our garden bed* Most of the pavers have little to no sand to secure them especially down the dog run and over by the grassThere was an extra bag of sand that was in our wheelborrow that is now gone*** has gone to Lowes and purchased paver sand so that the pavers are not rubbing and wont move,
* The sod that was laid has now seperated approx 1-inches on the entire area and appears to be dying in certain areasYou informed me that this is that it will shrink in the evenings and it will eventually start to hold more water and growOn Sunday when we left our house we had extra sod on a pallet in our driveway and when we came home the grass and pallet were goneThis is frusterating to me being that we paid for it so no one had a right to remove it*The water faucet over by the back patio door isn't finishedit's leaking and also pipe that someone placed there isnt straight and it was cut short* The new pipe for water down dog run was to be secured to the houseThat isn't complete Also the electrical covering on the side of the house where the timer is was to be fixed to the houseThe screws that someone placed in our stucco on our home isn't the right screwsReply, Reply All or Forward | More
