After investigating, I can confirm that [redacted], was charged the correct amount, based on her [redacted] Getaways reservation's terms & based on the signed receipts for her Food and Beverage purchases on 6/**.  My explanation is below & I have attached...

supporting documents to this email.I certainly understand [redacted] mother's discomfort with a charge being processed after her check out, and appreciate her reaching out through you, as her feedback will help us to improve our communication moving forward.The reason why [redacted] mother's credit card was charged $166.29 on 7/* is because, when she checked out on 6/**, the Front Desk agent accidentally billed these charges to Groupon, instead of to the guest.  The Front Desk agent was supposed to charge only the room stay itself to [redacted] (as [redacted] mother had pre-paid it through Groupon).  Upon detecting the error, and given that the customer had signed for all of the individual charges, we processed the charge on her credit card.Based on [redacted] description, it seems that [redacted] is correct that the Front Desk agent pre-authorized a guarantee amount that was too large at the time of check in, and I am glad to hear that it was correctly released at check out.In addition, it is factually accurate that that [redacted] did not have the option to bring her pet, given the reservation made by her mother.  It is also accurate that we have pet friendly rooms onsite.  [redacted] mother reserved a 2 bedroom suite. We have only 2 pet friendly rooms, both of which are small standard motel style rooms.  I have based my findings on the attached documents which show:• $150 in extra person fees is correct: o 3 additional people for a 2 night stay.  o [redacted] Getaways website specifies that the 2 bedroom suite is sold with a standard occupancy of 2, a maximum occupancy of 4, and a $25 fee per night for each additional guest above standard.o The guest had a family of 5, and we made an exception at the request of the guest to allow a 5th person to stay in the room, as hand noted on the sign in sheet.o The guest check in sheet which was signed by [redacted] mother listed this $150 charge (on the line "other charges")o I assume that Ms. Maisonet believes that it was only the 5th person who was eligible for the extra person charge.  As her mother made the reservation, Ms. Maisonet may not have been aware of [redacted] Getaways terms.• $16.29 in food & beverage charges is correct o there are signed receipts for the purchase of 3 beverages & 1 bag of chips at our pool snack shack on 6/26.• The pre-authorized credit card hold should have been for $35, not $1000 o [redacted] Getaways website specifies a $100 per day credit card authorization for incidentalso The guest check in sheet specifies that we pre-authorize for the balance due + $100 per night, which in this case is the $150 extra person charges (other charges) + $200.o As the full amount was released per [redacted] description, I trust that this item is considered resolved.I sincerely hope that this explanation resolves [redacted] concerns.Please let me know if you, or [redacted], require additional information.
