Soup to Nuts

We hired Soup to Nuts LLC to troubleshoot and fix a lack of hot water issue in my daughter's shower. *** and his partner Shane came to the house in mid January. Their incorrect diagnosis was that my daughter's shower had a broken part on the internal fixture. They told us the part needed to be replaced but in the meantime, they would take the same part from another shower in the house and install it in my daughter's shower which would allow her to have hot water (it didn't). They would return with the new parts within a few days and complete the repair.

The bathroom they took the part from is a seldom used bedroom/bathroom. At some point after they left our house, the internal fixture in that shower began leaking water as a direct result of ***'s work. The water leak continued for several days and we were completely unaware of it until the water came through our ceiling in the kitchen downstairs. It damaged our ceiling, molding, wall and walnut hardwood floors. *** and his partner *** came to the house and inspected the damage on Wednesday, Jan 22. They told us they would repair the damage the following week.

The following week *** told us his business was really busy and he would not be by. Since then *** has been extremely difficult to reach not returning calls or text messages for days/week at a time. ***'s position now is they will fix the damage but we are responsible for all the costs. *** will not commit to when it will be done or even started. We have tried to schedule a face to face meeting with *** with no luck. He does not call us when he says he will and we are left not knowing where we stand.

***'s lack of professionalism is truly unfortunate. Despite the fact that his actions led directly to the water leak and damage, he does not feel liable for any of the costs. He prefers we file a homeowner's claim and then hire him to fix the damage he caused! We've been extremely professional giving *** every opportunity to do the right thing.
