Source 1, Inc Reviews (11)

The delivery using this trucking company has been tardy for a couple of days. Also the communication between the company and customer has been sparse[redacted] contracted a move with [redacted] in which her goods were picked up by Source 1 Inc, in which it was communicated that delivery would take place within 14-21 days. It has been a week late on the delivery and there have been communication issues with both companies. Her corresponding job number is :[redacted]. After the initial delievery date passed, Ms. [redacted] had to contact the trucking company to get information on what the problem was. Being a single mother with two children, the delay of essential living items has been a serious burden. After finally contacting [redacted] at Source 1, he stated that he was having truck issues and was waiting on a part. The fact that he experienced issues is unfortunate; however, that is not the fault of the customer. He has continued to give us the runaround on when we can expect delivery with changes starting from July 5th-7th, to July 8th, and now we are still waiting on those goods to show up. With the moving company, we have already invested $1000 dollars for this move with a balance of $1150 remaining. [redacted] proceeded to tell us that he would be able to drop the belongings off on July 8th between the times of 6am-8am. Not even 3 hours later he asked to discount the remaining price to further delay the delivery to convenience his driving schedule and decrease cost. His reasoning of not being at fault due to "act of God" for his truck having issues. Mechanical issues does not classify as an act of God under any interpretation of the phrase. There has been a lack of communication, accountability, customer service, and overall professionalism while dealing with both of these companies. It seems that no one wants to accept responsibility nor is forthright in trying to alleviate the issue or make things right. As a paying customer, there are some expectations that both companies have failed to live up to and which has let us utterly dissatisfied.Desired SettlementFair compensation from either company for each day that goes past the anticipated first delivery date. The total amount of the bill was $2150 for a delivery that was picked up on June 10th and expected to be delivered on July 1st. Each additional day past July 1st should be credited to the remaining balance of $1150 but to not exceed that amount. That equates to $102.38/day in late charges since that is the per day cost of the initial transaction. $102.38*21= $2150I've received my goods in the most timely manner possible while dealing with Source 1 inc. They were forthright and apologetic for the inconvenience, outside of their control, that resulted in the delay of my delivery. We reached a settlement that both parties felt was amicable and fair and I am leaving 100% satisfied to the conclusion of this issue. I will look to pursue no further legal action against source 1 movers and [redacted] claim. Source one discounted the amount due by $552 per my request.

Stay away. This business uses every scam in the book and probably invents a few more as they "work." Would not unload the truck till we signed a release of liability form. They knew they broke items but until the form was signed, nothing would move off the truck. You have to know movers are very protected by the law and have every upper hand and they know it. I called two lawyers in Florida who specialize in going after moving companies and without fail both said unless the movers really screw up, they are pretty much untouchable. On the good side, they will pay you .60 cents a pound for loss. Yep, a nice TV you bought for $1,000 that weighs in at 40 pounds will get you $24.
These movers were upset that I read the fine print! They do not want an educated consumer but why would you want to deal with a company that tries to make more money from "up-charging" on everything? Do not uses these guys to take trash to the curb.
Watch for:
Mattress and box springs "have" to be protected with plastic bags at $25 per item!
TVs....extra packing charge of $75 per TV.
Mirrors and pictures....each are " required" to be boxed at $20 per box.
Packing list that reads: "assorted items." You can't claim a loss because your item is not specifically listed.
Stay away from Source One. Know the difference between a mover and a moving broker.
I guess we are missing about 12 items; power tools, hand tools, and computer printer. All easily pawned items.
You know these company is lying when their lips are moving.","neg-1

The moving company lost several items and moved heavy articles by mistake and charged me for that. I had to replace the articles they mistakenly tookI signed a contract with [redacted] (separate complaint). They assured me my move would be quite satisfactory.[redacted] outsourced me to Source 1 movers. [redacted],one of the owners, lost my executive desk chair along with battery charger for outside gardening.Other lesser articles were lost but I'm not pushing for that. I instructed them NOT to take my 8X10 rug and a vacuum but at the end of the move, they were on the middle of the truck and [redacted] could not unload it.They knew I was renting out the house and that afternoon, I had to purchase a new rug and vacuum for my VA home.I had to have a cashiers check ready upon delivery in my new house in Fl. [redacted] charged me for his mistake (Rug and vacuum. Initially [redacted] told me he would reimburse me for the desk chair. A week later he told me he don't know of any chair missing. He told me to fill out a claim form and he assured me he would put this claim in now to settle this. I haven't heard from him so I called and his phone which was disconnected. Not only did they lose articles, took the wrong pieces and charged me for it (I threw out the rug once I got to Fl since I couldn't use it. And now I have 3 vacuums in my Fl. home and had to buy another vacuum and rug for the VA home. There were 5 men working and I tipped them $550!Had I known this was going to occur, I would have put that money toward my new purchases and losses. This move cost me $8387.42 PLUS another $1000 replacing lost articles and being charged for moving articles I did NOT want moved. My move was July 27th.Desired SettlementI would want a check for $1000 for replacement of executive desk chair, battery for lawn equipment, replacement for rug and vacuum, take off the money charged by the weight of my heavy rug and vacuum that was moved by source's 1 mistake.Business Response We at source one pride ourselves with high quality moves , and great custmer service. While we totally disagree with the customers shady rendering of the events portrait in this complaint, we will honor the terms of our contract in referencephalitis to the free insurence that the customer agreed to. A claim has been filed by the customer and is currently under review. We look forward to sending the customer compensation in accordance to the terms of the contract that we have both agreed to.Consumer Response I am quite taken aback with the response noted from source One with such an unpleasant and unprofessional service rendered to me. First of all, Source One made the mistake of packing my rug and vacuum with out MY authorization. [redacted] knew of this mistake since ALL of us (including his workers) saw the rug and vacuum in the middle of he truck after it was packed. That was MY mistake not requesting him to take all the articles from the back of the truck off so that I could claim my articles that was COMMUNICATED to [redacted] and his crew to remain in my house. Not only did I have the expense of replacing these items, but I was CHARGED for their mistake taking these articles to Florida which was thrown in the trash when I arrived there.Initially [redacted] told me he would reimburse me for my executive desk chair then the second week we spoke, he denied there ever being a chair! Talk about SHADY!!!!!!!!!![redacted] PROMISED me we would close this case sooner than later and again, nothing is resolved. This move cost me over $8,000 and all I really received was aggravation and anxiety. Being a woman on my own, I feel like I was taken advantage of because of my generous nature. As I mentioned before, I tipped the workers $550 not realizing that all the above issues were going to unwind. At least that money I gave them would have paid for a replacement chair. If I do not receive a satisfactory response, I am going to post all of my issues on line so that perhaps I can save someone from all the heartache and aggravation I felt working with this company. I had been in business for myself for 9 years. Had I treated people I dealt with like [redacted] (source One) I would have closed my doors a lot sooner. I thank you for the opportunity to express my extreme disappointment and hopefully this company will learn from this and behave in a more professional way toward other future clients. [redacted] reassured me that my move would be a pleasurable experience and that was so far from the truth.Thank you for your time,Sincerely written,[redacted] Final Business Response We offered the client double the amount 3 months ago and she told me on the phone the she did not want the compensation, therefore we consider this case to be closed.

It has taken two years to get this company to try and settle for items not delivered. They charged more than original agreement. Still WaitingSource 1 movers were involved for moving me from [redacted] to [redacted] which was originally a government paid move. I moved here from [redacted]. but dropped off my belongings in **. This company was suppose to meet me at one location and be taken to where my belongings were stored according to our original agreement which was made over the phone. The company stole more than 300$ in electrical merchandise and failed to unload parts to a bed which had to be trashed. I lost an estimated 7000$ in goods and apartment rental space. Desired SettlementSend me the actual money you stated without any restrictions. I have waited since FEB 2012 and you have yet to settle. Any paperwork is null and voided. Federal charges are expected to be filed soon since this was a government move. Business Response let me check on this check should have been sent if not will send within 48 hours also will send you tracking number.,

Worst experience of our lives. ....Do No use this company our bill started out at 3500 and went to 7800 and they broke my OAK dinning table OAK hutch not to mention the many items in boxes.. had me load riding mower my self wanted to rent more trailer ...there excuse they didn't have correct haulers even after I told them exactly what they was hauling.....if u value any of your personal belongs ......do not use this company. ... by they way we actually went threw [redacted] movers the contract it out to source1...... it's been 17 days and I still have not heard from them they said could take 30 days funny how when they owe you it's 30 days but when it's other way around you have to put deposit before you hang up the phone.. don't use [redacted] movers of source1","neg-2

I believe that Source 1 Movers completely misrepresented themselves. Many promises were made prior to contracting this company, only to be broken.Job number: XXXXXXXXPickup date: 9-28-15Delivery date: 9-30-15Initial Cost Estimate: $8864.60Binding Estimate: $6500 (includes a $500 discount)Final Cost: $8985.99 ($500 discount not applied)Broken PromisesI spent a lot of time on the phone with Source 1 Movers prior to contracting their service. This was an effort - stated multiple times by Source 1 - in order to get the most accurate quote possible. They sent pictures which were to be representative of their service. None of our pictures match theirs. We clearly did not get what we paid for or what was promised. Furthermore, on Sept 10th we were offered a $500 credit, which was not applied to the final charge.Property DamageThe walls in our house are marked, scuffed, and dinged. We have to patch and paint this freshly painted house on nearly every wall. One of our armoires was broken. The curio cabinet was broken. Our wine fridge hinges for the door have been bent so that it doesn't shut properly. Among the damaged items were (not a comprehensive list):Walls and door trim scratched, gouged, and markedPicture frames cracked or splitBroken glass sconcesLamp completely broken off its baseWicker boxes bent beyond usable conditionPacking tape used to secure many items rather than cellophane, so as to cause damage to its surfaceBent and maimed photosFinial broken from the curtain rod and chippedSpeaker cone damaged from being depressed OverchargeWe were quoted a rate increase by our Movers only after they packaged our belongings and loaded them onto a truck. Source 1 charged us approximately $2700 over and above our guaranteed quote. They could have packed our house in half the time with 30% fewer boxes. Most boxes were not packed fully or correctly resulting in many damaged items. 66% of the brand new boxes used were crushed. There were many empty boxes and trash packed inside these boxes, in addition to the items brought which had been marked to be left and the point of origin. These items were clearly labelled as well as verbally communicated to the moving team. The packing materials were grossly misused and overused. Dish pack boxes were used without the insert and wardrobe boxes without the bar were used to move items better suited for regular boxes (i.e., neither dishes nor clothes were packed in these boxes). Many boxes had one box taped inside another to make them larger. Lack of ProfessionalismWhile the movers were our paid guests we listened to their complaints about how heavy and abundant our belongings are. We listened to comments about our possessions and how it related to their life. While at the destination I was subject to inappropriate sexual comments made by one of the crewmembers about the type of bed we own, what could be done with it, and asked if we did that.Poor Quality of ServiceAlmost every box has items from 3 or 4 different rooms so that it will take several months for us to get fully unpacked. There were a few items that had pieces packed in several different boxes which were marked for separate rooms. In the 16 hours it took to pack a 4 bedroom 2400 sq. ft. house, I would expect our belongings to be more skillfully packaged. The list goes on (not a comprehensive list):Dishes packed on endOur own belongings were used as cushioning for breakablesToilet plungers packed with pillowsElectronics packed without cushionTelescope without any wrapping or careHalf full wardrobe boxesFood packed with poisons and cleanersGlassware packed with booksLack of Follow ThroughDespite listing damage with the movers prior to their departure, we still have no resolution. We were promised a call to assess the damage done to our property, yet no one from Source 1 has called to address the damage. I have emailed several times to Source 1 since the move. To date I have no resolution or promise of resolution, only a statement that they are investigating and that it takes time to speak with each member of the crew.Desired SettlementWe would like a full refund of the price paid for the service provided, in consideration for the amount of damage to our property and misrepresentation of your services.Business Response We do apologize for any delay in the processing of your claim,..this claim was being sent to the sales department and no one followed up on it. We will start processing your claim now that it is in the proper channel. I do not have a claim form on file for you and if there was one sent in it did not reach our office. We will be preparing and mailing claims form to you in the next couple of days and our claims department will call you to follow-up. Our contact number is XXX-XXX-XXXX if you have any questions before then. Consumer Response I appreciate your response and assurance that the damage claim will, in fact, be handled. I would also appreciate if you would address the other points in the complaint. Thank you.Final Business Response All aspects of your claim will be reviewed if you have pictures of the boxes that were packed that would help along with pictures of damages. Return them with your form so we can review everything at once..Thanks

This firm was hired to move me from my home in NC to my new home in Texas. There were several items damaged during this process. The company covers any damages at $.60 per pound. I had several items which were damaged and that is understandable. All I want them to do is pay the $.60 per pound in damages they caused. This company set all of my mattresses outside of their truck when delivering to another customer and they were soaked by rain water. That was not damage in shipping, that was true negligence. I had to pay $2500 to replace them. I submitted the damages to the company in April and they offered me substantially less than I had claims for. I provided photos of the damage and they will not honor their contract agreement to pay for any damaged items.Desired SettlementThe company needs to pay my claim as agreed. The company owes me $697.40 in damages. I just want them to pay as agreed. Business Response Upon receipt of[redacted] paperwork, my Secretary contacted her and advised her that we have reviewed her claim and will pay for all of the items listed on the form. However, based on the terms of the contract .60 cent per pound is our standard policy which is calculated by weight of article. My secretary told her that the weight of the desk will be estimated at 150lbs and the mattresses at 100lbs each. She further explained to her that the stool and couch was not damaged by the movers and the damage was noted on the inventory sheets prior to loading. As a good faith offer, we are willing to pay $228.00. Ms. [redacted] told my secretary she will not accept that amount and we will hear from her Attorney. Below is the calculationItem Weight AmountDesk 150 LBS $ 90.00 King mattress 100 LBS $ 60.00 Queen mattress 100 LBS $ 60.00 Trash can 5 LBS $ 3.00 Lamp 5 LBS $ 3.00 File Cabinet 20 LBS $ 12.00 TOTAL $ 228.00 Consumer Response I provided photos of the items which were damaged. They were not like that when I moved. The secretary did call and offer to only pay $228.00 but this does not cover all of the damaged items. I will seek legal assistance in this matter and then the company can pay the full claim along with attorney fees. The desk weight is 300 lbs, I had scales put under it and weighed. It was actually 304 lbs but I rounded to 300. I have photos of all items claimed and will be seeking the full amount of my mattresses since the driver admitted to leaving them out in the rain which is not damage in shipping, it is negligence. The total replacement cost was $2500. I was willing to take the amount specified on the original claim but if this is how they want to do business, I will see them in court. If you are reading this from the Revdex.com website, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! It is not up to them to tell you what is damaged, it is up to you as a customer. This is what they are trying to do in this case but will not get away with it. I have proof of all damages which will easily stand up in court. Final Business Response We at Source One reached out to Ms [redacted] with a fair price in accordance to the contract that we agreed upon, but she rejected our offer, and threatened legal litigation. We reviewed the claim in detail and found out that their were a couple of items that she accused us of damaging, but if you look at the inventory sheet that she signed on pickup those damages were noted in detail on the inventory sheet that she signed on pick up and delivery. We also looked at the actual weight of the items that she stated on the claim, and found the weight to be very in accurate, We feel that since the insurance was based off of weight Ms [redacted] took upon here self to inflate the weight to a fictitious amount in order to get a larger refund. When we delivered here furniture, after doing here final walk through Ms [redacted] signed all here inveventory sheets, that specified the condition of her furniture and all noted damages the she verified on pickup and delivery with her signature. Now six months later, all of these new damages have suddenly appeared on here furnishings. We stand firm behind our offer, and we will reach out to Ms [redacted] again, to bring closure to this unfortunate situation.

This company is a disgrace. They are disorganized, take no accountability for their mistakes and have no idea what customer service is. As if moving state to state isn't stressful enough, this company made this process 100% more stressful. The movers never arrived when promised and even showed up 3 hours late on the day they had to reschedule too because they were so disorganized. They were in my apartment until midnight the day of delivery and lost the screws to my bed which they in turn tried to make me go to Walmart late at night to buy screws for the bed and put it together. I am a young single female and have no clue how to put a bed together. They left me that day with no bed to sleep in and then came to my home at 6 in the morning with the wrong screws so had to "make" their own with a power tool which they started doing inside my apartment which caused smoke to set off all the smoke alarms- at 6 am!! They dumbly realize they should do this stuff outside anyway and then threw the left over scraps of screws in my yard. They put my foot board on wrong and got mad at me when they had to redo it. The cussing, rolling their eyes and huffing and puffing made me feel as if everything they did wrong was my fault. They lost an expensive mirror and tried to deny it when the inventory list clearly showed it on there- absolutely no accountability!! They broke glasses and vases and needless to say my bed is damaged and they didn't even put all the screws in places the bed frame should have them. These movers have no heart or care in the world for your belongings or the customers they deal with.","neg-3

Source 1 movers also [redacted], will rip you off. Do not! I repeat, DO not leave your deposit with them. When you make the initial call, A representative will come across as being a very caring Mom and Pop small family business with the aim to protect and care for your belongings. This is a game and their spill to get your deposit. Once they tell you that your moving binding rate is good for up to 1 year, they email you the rate. The problems with contact will have soon after the deposit is collected, in which I paid $350.00 in April. The move was changed, when I called to reschedule the move...the games started and never stopped!!! They had me in tears as my sons and I continue to sleep in an empty house on the floor, they already know that they can't book a move, even a month or two in advance, a refund should be the offering. The customer service department is made up of a bunch of unprofessional untrained individuals that's nothing more than a message chop shop to take a message and drive you back to the person who tricked you out of the deposition money to begin with. It's called steering. When you finally receive a call, it is another game, I will advise you to have a tape recorder because their are promises after promises and you will not be able to get your money back unless you take them to court or file against the broker's bond. Fast forward, still no confirmation of a move. This company will sell you that they have been around and in business for a long time. Probably true, full of nepotism and cunning stunts to make a dollar off of the less fortunate. has been around. After my personal real life experience with this moving company I highly believe it is a set up to get as many deposits as they possibly can. Fortunately, I am a brand ambassador of social media and I plan to share my nightmare with the entire world over and over again to help protect others from experiencing such a trying ordeal. I now have to get a[redacted] truck this weekend because I have yet to hear back from the representative named [redacted] or [redacted]. I have suffered behind this unprofessional company and I vow to warn others to STAY AWAY!! from Source 1 movers (Raleigh, NC) [redacted] ([redacted]) This has truly been a nightmare of a company. Straight Monsters. If you are going to flat out not be able to move the person at least refund the person to prevent further actions and cost. Greed!!!Desired SettlementA refund, at this point I would not even trust this company with my belongings. I know how the switch and bait goes and do believe that is why this drawn out game is being played with me. I am not buying it, I don't trust the company or the movers. I don't want my merchandise coming to me broken. I will do it myself.I was contacted directly by the Owner of the company that explained to me that this was a miscommunication and by no means is his business designed to rip off others. They are truly in the business of satisfying their customers and looks forward to repeat customers. He has agreed to expedite a refund in the amount of $350.00 in full and will take a deeper dive to see how the issue came about with the communication problem. He added that 99.9% of the time, this would have not happened. He directed me to several reliable sources proving that their business has a very good reputation overall and is known for delivering excellent customer service. If any complaints against the company has been filled, they all showed resolved in a quick manner. It is unfortunate that the communication was not conveyed earlier to avoid my complaint going up, Revdex.com does not remove complaints at all, therefore, it is only fair that I give a follow up to what has transpired. I understand human errors can be made and after the professionalism of the Owner contacting me directly to defend the reputation of his company, I would completely recommend or use this company again. I am 100% satisfied with the way the Owner handled this situation. He prides himself on exceeding the expectations off his customers.

The movers are punctual, communicate at all levels and honest, yet overpriced for the service offered. You can expect that all of your goods will arrive, the question is will they arrive in the same shape as they were packed originally.
Overall, do not expect superbly professional service. The moving team will communicate every step of the way, but the service is not what I expect of professional moving services.
The moving company does not supply proper packing supplies for the move so the movers purchase on demand from Home Depot or U-Haul. Boxes are typically over packed. My electronics were packed, but not secured with bubble wrap or box stuffing, just pushed into the box without support. Dishpacks were not utilized and liquids were refused because they did not want to chance a spill in the box. Other professional movers typically seal tops to any non-flammable/chemical liquids and wrap with moving paper/bubble then pack. These movers will not do any of that. They also do not wrap food stuffs/spices, just dump in boxes.
Inventory process is not very structured and the box labeling is not professional. They hand write inventory lots and contents often without the room and split the contents across multiple boxes so I was left hunting for all of my parts to my lamps or my TV, dvd and blue ray players in separate, poorly marked boxes.","neu-1

In addition to my posted review of this company I believe the weight was doctored somehow in order to charge more.In Oct 2013 I moved from a 2500 sq ft home in Florida to NC. The wt was 9,670 lbs. In 2014 prior to moving into an 1100 sq ft apartment in NC I donated a tremendous amount of my belongings. As a result, I estimated the wt for my upcoming move to FL a week ago (7/23/15) would be somewhere around 6500 lbs. But certainly not more than my original move to NC. I don't know what was done to increase the weight to more than 7,000 lbs, but as you can see for the weight to be more than my 2013 move is impossible. This complaint is in addition to the items listed in my review of this company. I truly believe that they took advantage of me in order to charge me more. The only item that I purchased after my move to NC was a microwave oven.Desired SettlementI wish a refund for the overcharge and I want a claim form to submit for the damage they caused. I did not take the 100% replacement insurance because I couldn't afford it after they thit me with all the unexpected extra charges. aBusiness Response We have contacted Ms. [redacted] and sent her paperwork to start the process of her claim. She has confirmed receipt. Upon receipt of the completed form, we will review her claim based on the documentation provided and she will be reimbursed pursuant to the terms of the shipping agreement. Consumer Response I have asked to be reimbursed for the weight difference. There's no mention of such in this response, even though it was indicated to me via phone that they would.Final Consumer Response processing and payment of submitted claimIn October I received a letter from the company that they would honor my claim for damages. Their letter is dated 10/16/15. I needed to submit a notarized statement agreeing to a payment of $621.00, which I did a week later. Their letter stated that upon receipt of the document a check would be processed and would take up to 30 days. It has now been almost 60 days and I have yet to see a check. I have called and emailed them for status, but I am not receiving any response. Consumer's Desired Resolution:I wish for the claim to be processed and be in receipt of a check to resolve my issue with this company once and for all.Final Business Response Miss [redacted] was sent a certified check in the amount that she requested, we have a tracking. Number and proof that the check has been cashed. It appears this covers my first complaint. I submitted a second complaint in reference to my claim for damages, which remains unpaid. It was suppose to take approximately 30 days to process the claim. It's going on 3 months. I have been unsuccessful in obtaining a status from the company. I reached out to a mconteh via email who said she/he would follow up and respond by the end of the week. That was two weeks ago.
