South Bay Motorsports Reviews (4)

Review: ON May 3 2013 I ([redacted]) purchased a motorcycle (2007 Yamaha roadliner Vin# [redacted]) from south bay motorsports in chula vista ca, as of August 22, 2013 they still have not provided a California license plate I advised them in July that I had not received anything from the dmv and was issued a temporary operating permit that expires on September 1 2013. On August 17,2013 I spoke with the sales person [redacted] and told him that I received the vehicle registration and a 2014 sticker from the DMV but I still dont have a metal plate, he told me he has nothing to do with the DMV paperwork to talk to [redacted] she deals with the DMV paperwork. I followed up by sending a email to the store email and went to south bay motorsports on August 22, 2013 I explained to [redacted] that I don't have a metal plate for the motorcycle and upon receiving the motorcycle there was no plate on the motorcycle. In a immature childish manner she began to tell me it was all [redacted] fault because he didn't tell her anything, I explained to her that I had already contacted her via e mail and explained the situation and she had already issued a temporary operating permit so this isnt the first time she has heard of the situation. She continued to act in a childish and unprofessional manner and pass the blame on to [redacted] and claim nobody has ever told her anything. I advised her I don't have my metal plate and my registration extension expires on September 1 2013. I was told she would order me a plate.Desired Settlement: I paid for the processing of the dmv paper work and it hasn't been taken care of, if I don't receive my plate before September 1, 2013 I want another registration extension paid for by south bay motorsports, I want my plate and if it was up to me [redacted] would be fired for showing an unprofessional work ethic, when I spoke with her I thought I was on the phone with a preschooler.

Review: Recently, I authorized a South Bay Motorsports salesperson to perform a credit check for financing. I filled out and signed a credit check authorization ONLY. After discussing my finance options, I chose not to use South Bay Motorsports financing through their Vendor, [redacted]. As I was leaving, the salesman stopped me and asked me to sign one more form " he forgot" about. I read the form and saw that it was an application for a ** Credit card. I refused to fill out or sign the form, even though the salesman tried to convince me it was "part of their process". I told him that I was not obligated to apply for their card. I handed him back the form and left. 3 weeks later I received a ** credit card in the mail. I have since closed the account, and I am in the process of filing fraud complaints with the credit card company. I want to be clear that I did not sign an application for a credit card, nor did I give verbal authorization for a credit card to be opened in my name.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that South Bay Motorsports provide me with a letter of apology and change their deceptive practices.

Response:

Dear [redacted].,

We are very sorry for the obvious communication

errors between our staff and Mr. [redacted]. The finance company used

for Sym, has the customer sign the credit

card application after the approval. This is different from every other

product line we carry. Even though we did everything by the book, the

process was inadequately outlined to Mr. [redacted]. We do thank Mr.

[redacted] for bringing the issues to our attention. We have implemented

procedures to make sure a similar misunderstanding does not occur in

the future.

On 7/26/2013 I spoke with Mr. [redacted] on the phone and he seemed pleased with our communication.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

Review: Business fails to call me and inform me of my motorcycles problems. I had to call them after a week to find out what was going on and still the issue was not solved.

My first repair took two weeks and the problem was not fixed and the price was quite high for the service preformed.

My second repair took one month and problem was still not fixed. Gave very minimal refund.

My third repair is still in progress. It has been 4 days to date (26Sep) and still no phone call informing me of my motorcycles problems.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is a full refund on all repairs or a full repair free of charge.
