RE: South Bend Chimney Whitmer Rd South Bend, IN 574-303- My issue with my chimney was, when it rains hard, the rain was getting into the chimney, running down the inside, through my furnace and onto the floor in the basementI have only been in this house for years as of the end of August When I had the duct work cleaned, it was pointed out to me, the inside of the furnace is rustedIt is apparent that this started before I moved in I left phone messages with every chimney company I could find in South Bend, never received a return call from any of themI re-called South Bend Chimney, because they had worked on the fireplace in my house just as I moved in On 06/25/16, I called 574-303-8225, which was the phone number listed, for South Bend ChimneyIt stated the mailbox was fullI called back on 06/27/and left a message with my information and what the issue wasOn 06/28/16, I called again at 10:amI reached someone and he stated they were out on a job, but would have someone contact me in the next couple of days, as they would like my business I received a call from Chris stating he would be out the look at the chimney on 06/30/between 1pm and 2pmHe came out and looked at the chimney, but there was something about the chimney that he was unfamiliar withHe stated the owner will need to come out and take a lookChris stated the owner lives around my area somewhereHe gave me a different phone number and the owner and his wife's nameHe said call Pat and Bill at 574-231-and set up a time with them I called 574-231-on the following days 07/05/at 09:am - She stated the owner will come out to check today, 07/06/at 09:am - She stated the owner will come out to check today 07/08/at 1:pm - I said to her if you are not going to show up, just let me know and I can move onHer response was,"she understands" This is truly poor customer service as far as I am concerned The furnace is still working, but if I could not stop this water running through it, it will not work much longer, which means I will need to get a new oneI did not want to do that at this timeI did find a handyman, who fixed the chimney for me, with a new rain cap

I have only been in this house for 2 years as of the end of August 2016. When I had the duct work cleaned, it was pointed out to me, the inside of the furnace is rusted. It is apparent that this started before I moved in.

I left phone messages with every chimney company I could find in South Bend, never received a return call from any of them. I re-called South Bend Chimney, because they had worked on the fireplace in my house just as I moved in.

On 06/25/16, I called 574-303-8225, which was the phone number listed, for South Bend Chimney. It stated the mailbox was full. I called back on 06/27/16 and left a message with my information and what the issue was. On 06/28/16, I called again at 10:00 am. I reached someone and he stated they were out on a job, but would have someone contact me in the next couple of days, as they would like my business.

I received a call from Chris stating he would be out the look at the chimney on 06/30/16 between 1pm and 2pm. He came out and looked at the chimney, but there was something about the chimney that he was unfamiliar with. He stated the owner will need to come out and take a look. Chris stated the owner lives around my area somewhere. He gave me a different phone number and the owner and his wife's name. He said call Pat and Bill at 574-231-0834 and set up a time with them.

I called 574-231-0834 on the following days
07/05/16 at 09:30 am - She stated the owner will come out to check today,
07/06/16 at 09:30 am - She stated the owner will come out to check today.
07/08/16 at 1:30 pm - I said to her if you are not going to show up, just let me know and I can move on. Her response was,"she understands".

This is truly poor customer service as far as I am concerned.

The furnace is still working, but if I could not stop this water running through it, it will not work much longer, which means I will need to get a new one. I did not want to do that at this time. I did find a handyman, who fixed the chimney for me, with a new rain cap.
