South Coast Car Company tried to sell me a car with a very bad transmission. They said they received it the day before and then put it right on the lot. I thought there were specific inspections you needed to do before putting a car on the lot especially if the check engine light is on and the...

blinker doesn't work and the brakes are bad. I did not receive a smog check certificate in which should of been done 90 days prior before selling a vehicle. And that was not done. [redacted] promised me 3-4 days the car would be done, I kept calling everyday after the 4th day and nothing was done and they didn't know anything. Finally, I went up there on February 18th and waited for my car because I was not paying for a BMW for those 10 days I was without a car. [redacted] finally told me 6 hours it will be done. I came and got the car on February 18 at 7:00 pm. When I picked up the car the blinker was not fixed, the brakes were not fixed. The car was filthy. Had not been washed, detailed or anything. He told us to drive about 10 miles away to his electronics guy and he'll fix the blinker. That was done that same night. I've been consistently trying to reach South Coast Car Company for the past 2 weeks to try and change my due date on my car payment because technically I did not receive my car until February 18, 2015.  I've emailed them about 8 times, called about 10 times and every single time I've been ignored. I've requested the paperwork for the transmission to make sure that it was really done and they have not given it to me. They told me to call the car place that did the job named Pro Auto in Santa Ana, I called and spoke to the manager requesting the paperwork on my car because I was promised by [redacted] I'd have a 1 year warranty on the new transmission. The manager told me that he couldn't give me any information because it's under South Coast's name and they haven't paid their bill yet so they can't release anything.  South Coast knew they haven't paid their bill yet and still let me contact Pro Auto just to be ignorant. South Coast Car Company is so unprofessional. Till this day, March 12, 2015 I still have not received a thing from them. Nothing on my transmission, nothing from them in writing regarding my loan due date. Nothing.  I would really like if someone would go out to South Coast Car Company and make sure all their paperwork is in order. First they tried to screw me over with a car with a BAD transmission and they knew it. Didn't do the proper inspections before they sell a vehicle and their customer service is horrible. I've even sent emails to them with updates on my new car insurance for them to forward to my finance company and they replied they would forward all my documents and never did. I ended up sending everything to my finance company. They need to be audited. Thank you!

Review: My husband and I purchased a car from southcoast auto in August 2014 we waited for the registration to be sent in the mail only to realize the sales person [redacted] failed to put the temporary Registration in the window. So I called and emailed only to find he no longer works for thr company. Then we were told to come back to the dealer to sign new contracts mind you we had already signed contracts and gotten a confirmation call from the finance company. I ended up getting stopped by the police and received a ticket for no registration and expired tags. When I called southcoast and spoke to [redacted] she did nothing except told us to come into the office , I told her I did not feel comfortable driving the vehicle with no registration or tags that are outdated back from 2011. I asked her to send the temporary registration through the mail then we would come. Weeks passed and nothing happened. I called back and spoke with [redacted] in the same office and she got defensive and said it was my word against theirs about the registration. I went to the dmw and had them check the VIN number and to date the tags are not paid hence we put down 1000 cash for a down payment and agreed to pay another 500 but I withheld it until we get our proper temporary registration. I have filed a report with the DMV investigator to go after their bond. Instead of them offering us a refund because the financing didn't go through according to them they just kept the local in house and didn't tell us. I feel as though there are some shady transactions going on and they should have given us the proper registration for the vehicle. Since then I was able to get insurance but here we are in December with no registration but I was able to get insurance to cover the vehicle. We are prepared to return the vehicle to the lot she threatened to do a repossession but we are willing to do a fair exchange give the vehicle back and we get our down payment t back. This has caused a undue hardshipDesired Settlement: I want to be reimbursed for our 1000.00 we put down in that vehicle and the traffic. Ticket I received for no registration and no tags. The traffic ticket has been postponed in traffic court until May 2015 so I either have to produce registration and current tags or offer the judge an explanation of what happened. This has caused a undue hardship and now we have to find another vehicle.

Review: On Friday, February 6, 2015 I went to South Coast Car Company to look for a vehicle. Both by boyfriend and I were approached by a man named Gilbert. We were specifically looking for BMW 750, there was only one on the lot that came in the day before. Looked beautiful! Started the car, it sounded nice, tested everything in the car, ran great. We agreed to purchase the car on an all cash sale with a warranty for 30 days or 1,000 miles. As we were getting things closed up he had a guy he worked with take the car away for about 30 minutes said it needed to be "inspected". Shouldn't it of been inspected when it was received the day before? Thought that was odd....he came back with it. We were done within 2 hours, drove the car off the lot and not even 20 minutes went by and the check engine light came on, the whole transmission started jolting. We knew by our past cars that it was a BAD transmission. The brakes were bad according to the computer and the back right blinker light was out. We called Gilbert immediately after we saw the check engine light and he said to bring it in the next morning.

We took it to our mechanic first thing the next morning, he definitely said the transmission was in very bad condition and that we should not drive it all. He actually advised us not to purchase the car. We went back to South Coast Car Company the next morning on the 7th of February and returned the car. Told them about the brakes and the blinker as well. They were very accommodating and gave us a "loaner" car since I was driving back and forth to Irvine. [redacted] I believed to the supervisor or something, promised me 3-4 days. I started calling the dealership after the 4th day, left messages and left messages, finally spoke to Gilbert, he had no clue when it would be done. I had been calling for about 3 days with no return call so my boyfriend and I went down to the dealership to speak with [redacted]. They said the car was not done yet, this was 7th or 8th day he didn't know when.Desired Settlement: Dealership to be punished.
