South Coast Tax Resolution Reviews (15)

Thank you for giving us our life back.
I was at a total loss with my tax problems and then I heard about South Coast Tax on a Conservative Christian program and I knew that there was hope for me and my husband. We had many years of unfiled tax returns and received notices from the IRS. I called and spoke with Randy about this and after talking with him he laid out a plan to get our taxes back in order. This is a small Christian owned Company and the way they treated me shows this. In the end they filed all our taxes and we were able to settle with the IRS for a lot less than we owed. I want to thank the owner Ryan, and Randy and Sandy for being patient with me and taking care of our tax issue.

Huge Help!!
I came to South Coast Tax when I was down on my luck. I encountered many different tax problems in the span of 3 years. Owning my own business, getting a divorce (unfortunately my ex wife knew what she was doing when it came down to tax liabilities), and inheriting property and a trust fund from my late father. My tax debt mounted and had no clue where to even start or how to even fill out the forms. I was loosing sleep and I was up one night and heard their Ad on the radio. I gave them a call and Randy calmed my fears and talked me through the steps. Ryan then took me under his care and took care of each aspect that was causing my tax debt and was able to guide me in the future to where I needed to be. With so many unfortunate circumstances happening in my life, this is the one thing that literally gave me hope! I can sleep easy at night knowing I didn't have to hand over everything to the IRS. I ended up owing $100! To some, the price of a fancy dinner!

I used this company to complete an offer in compromise in 2016 for me. They were fabulous and took care of everything. in 2018 the attorney who has always handled my case forgot to file my extension in April but lied to me and said e did.Supposedly it was mailed and not e-filed like he does every year so he has nonproof he can give me. The IRS has hit me with a very large fee for failure to file and penalties. Now I cannot get calls back or emails returned from the owner of South Coast Tax Resolution. I have verified this information with the IRS and now this company refuses t even make it right. Amazing when they charge $350 just to complete a tax return. I will not use them nor refer anyone to them. I will file with the BBC this is just not right that large firms get away with screwing the little guys. It is hard enough just paying the taxes every year you owe. They are crooks stay away

I owed $450,000 to the IRS and was at a complete loss. I had no clue where to even start to fix the matter and I was worried I'd lose everything I built my entire life. I was running my own business, trying to do my own books and I failed miserably at my understanding of taxes. Ryan was able to talk me off the ledge (many times throughout different phases of resolution), sort through all my bookkeeping and identify where I went wrong in my filings. Once all was said and done, I owed the IRS $50! I could not believe it. This company was truly a blessing that God placed before me!

I went to Ryan Born 3 years ago when I owed the IRS $276,000 and he was able to settle the tax for $1,350 in total. I was then audited for 2016 and 2017 and was looking at owing another $100,000 and risking defaulting my offer that was accepted by the IRS. Ryan was able to address the issues with the Revenue Agent and he miraculously was able to not have the IRS assess the additional tax.

I retained South Coast Tax Resolution to assist me with tax years 2017/2018.. they claimed to be "Christian based " so I felt confident I would not be taken advantage of..
In addition since I had a pre-existing tax debt they agreed (Ryan) to represent me before IRS.
I was charged 5 payments of $550.00..
Prior to tax year 2017/2018 being submitted to IRS I had my returns reviewed by another tax preparer.
Tax year 2017 was ok but 2018 was completed incorrectly. During and before all of this I had reached out repeatedly to their office to inquire about my pre-existing tax issue and was given the run around..
Since Ryan misrepresented his services I've tried to recoup at least 4 of my payments. I was lied to and hope people will read this complaint. Please be aware that just because a company represents itself as "Christian" doesn't mean they are beyond misrepresentation.. Please beware!

I hired South Coast Tax to help me get through and old state tax issue. I was given a price. Then once they saw how much work they came back and asked for a lot more. I paid it over 18 months. after that time I assumed they would have finished my case. They had done nothing other than get a small payment plan. They did not actually do anything about the tax, due or fix anything. I was moved from one attorney to the next and never could even get a hold of them. This firm is a SCAM stay away I am actively working on getting my money back

I was surprised to say the least when I received a formal complaint from the Revdex.com concerning South Coast not completing the services that we were retained for? I know that you understand the first part of the case in which we spent countless hours working to get the rogue Revenue Officer off of your back and staving off seizure of property in which he was moments away from doing so. In regards to the second part of the case, we submitted the request for abatement of all penalties and interest associated with the penalties and the process is not resolved over night and takes a lot of time not just for the initial reviewer to look at the circumstances, but to make a determination and if the determination is not sided in our favor, then the case moves to appeals which it did. You paid off the liabilities late September of 2012 and it takes 4-6 weeks for the balances to post and that is when we filed the formal request for abatement of penalties. We were responded to in April of 2013 and the IRS rejected our claim for the abatement and that was when we forwarded the case to appeals. The appeals department did not respond to us for quite a long time and we spoke with them in September and were working with them until the Government shutdown occurred in October and there was nobody allowed to work the case, the IRS is still catching up from that and when I spoke with them recently they stated that the case was closed because you did not file your 2012 tax return?? This infuriated me because the IRS closed the case without warning or allowing us to be compliant by filing the return.  The IRS will not review any cases unless the taxpayer is fully compliant with the filing requirements and not incurring more liabilities. The case cannot be opened back up until the 2012 tax return is filed with the IRS.

At this point, I need you to understand that the delay and length of time that it has taken for the abatement of penalties to take place was outside of South Coast's controls and in order for the case to move forward again the 2012 return must be filed. I am willing to work with you and prepare the 2012 tax return at no additional fees with the understanding that the 2013 tax return must be filed. When you are dealing with the IRS and requesting them to send money back, especially in the state of the economy that we are in, it takes time and it is not an easy process, but as I stated, I would like to work with you to file the missing return and get you compliant and once again move forward with the abatement process.

The first person I spoke with was Robert P., and he was very informative, and actually made me feel more confident about my situation. I felt like I knew what to expect from the beginning. He also designed a payment plan that met my needs. After getting onboard, Ryan B. was given my case. He provided a list for all of the records he would need, and made all of the paperwork simple. He was very patient, and gave me all of the time I needed to gather the information that was needed to settle my case. As soon as I provided all of the required paperwork and records, Ryan submitted an offer in compromise on my behalf. Ryan had compiled everything needed, and the IRS did not request any additional information. My $55,000 IRS debt was settled for $1824.00, (4% of what I owed). The entire experience with South Coast Tax Resolution was stress free and easy, and I plan to continue to use their services to prepare my annual Income tax returns.
