South Georgia Cargo Sales Reviews (%countItem)

I wish I would have read these reviews before buying my trailer.

Absolute junk of a trailer.

NOT ONE SINGLE PART of the build was done correctly. NOTHING.

Side door not even square to the frame, it is visibly cockeyed.
Rear ramp door doesn't even lay flat to the ground! WTF?
Every single bolt holding the warped skins is a different driven depth. Some too far, some WAY TOO FAR, some not even flush with the surface.

How can you not install the rear triple lights off-center? Ask these clowns how they managed to put the 3 lights not just a little off-center, but an entire light width off-center.

Pure bait and switch. Fake reviews on their website, Fake pictures of other trailers that are not even close to what you actually get. Pure Fraud. I guarantee if ICE were to raid them, they would be out of business for months.

After emailing back and forth with the online retailer, Make My Trailer.com, we worked out the specifications for my 7x14' enclosed trailer and I paid my deposit to place my order. After getting the address and showing up to pick up my trailer, I realized that this was just a trailer manufacturing site called Plain Ol Trailers but their sign out front is South GA Cargo. When going in the office or talking to anybody, everyone acts like you are a nuisance and you are bothering them. they lack any sense of customer service whether in person, over the phone, or by email. Upon inspection of my trailer, I found that they do not fully weld all the braces, and they do not flush all the metal together on the roof and walls, so I have high and low spots on my roof. The wiring for the brakes for the trailer was gnarled up because it wasn't even hooked up on the passenger side tire, which I would have never found if I hadn't crawled up under the trailer, in the dirt, to inspect them before I drove off the lot. I had them fix the trailer brake wire on site, and after that they told me that if I notice any other problems, they have a 1 year warranty and they will fix it. This is a bold face lie to just get your money and get you off-site. After my 4 and a half hour drive home, I took the invoice that they handed me in the office and went over all of the details again. I noticed that they didn't install a roof vent, which is supposed to be a standard feature for the trailer that I ordered. When I inquired about this and the mistake, their first suggestion was for me to drive 4.5 hours one-way for them to just give me the missing roof vent. No mention of them actually fixing their mistake and installing the roof vent. Then they offered to mail me one, which still leaves me stuck in the same situation, so I asked if they were going to pay for a local (to me) metal fabrication shop to install the roof vent since I don't have the tools to do so and shouldn't be paying for their mistake. Their reply was for me to pull the trailer back down to their shop, on my dime, and then they would install it. I told them that I shouldn't have to pay to fix their mistake when they told me they will guarantee the trailer for a year and I have written proof that they guarantee it. When trying to come to a realistic resolution, with much resistance on their end, I was told they're "not the dealer and they didn't create the invoice" and they tried to brush off the problem that way. The blatant lack of responsibility for THEIR workmanship is astonishing. Finally, after continuing to try to resolve the issue and get what I PAID FOR, they told me "Again, I didn't make the invoice and I tried to help. But your sy attitude isn't allowing that". I was nothing but professional in all my emails with them and got terrible customer service in return. At the end of the day, I received a subpar trailer with a poor welding job, a missing roof vent, and big gaps in the wood panels inside the trailer that they normally just hide with trim but I had requested for no trim. So, they basically hide their shoddy work with trim. As far as I am concerned, this company is just a bunch of thieves because we both agreed upon the features on the invoice before I placed my order and they refuse to fix their mistake and they also do not stand behind their product. I have spent over $5,000 on a subpar trailer and am beyond disappointed.

Went to pickup my trailer today drove 4hrs , got there. I told them it was supposed to have straight axe option. Was told they don’t do that anymore. The side walls bowed in on one side and out on the other. Roof members were supposed to be 16” oc they were 12” oc.
They left front top trim looked like it had hit some thing. But I think it was they way they bent it up to put it on. It was supposed to have a bull dog coupler it was a china copy. I waited 4 weeks and $800+ down. For a trailer that looks like a methhead school kid built it.

Pretty much the same as the rest. Looks like little kids built this trailer. I picked up the 7X14 yesterday. Check everything on site. Brakes didn't work, interior light didnt work. The frame has surface rust on it. I think they spray Krylon on it as a finish as it is on the electronics, the chains, everything so I guess they paint last. The interior looks good but you can see daylight from the inside when you shut the doors. Didnt catch that before I left so I will be doing some weather sealing. Globs of sealant on the one piece aluminum roof in two locations, I guess it wouldnt match up so they glob fixed it. Wish I had found these reviews before I purchased. Don't waste your money unless you plan to do some additional work on it yourself.

I would not recommend South Georgia Cargo/plain ol trailers if your picky. The trailer was put together with very, very low standards. The jack leg has a bend in it, the back ramp door hinges are welded on not even close to straight, most of the light lenses were put on crooked, the plywood on ramp door is not cut even close to straight, some of the sheet metal bowed out almost an inch where overlapped on side of trailer, the diamond plate rock guard on the side of trailer is not even close to straight and about 1-1/2'' narrower in one place, they didn't trim inside the wheel wells where sidewall metal and diamond plate sticks through, the 3 ramp door bumpers are mounted very uneven, one of the axle bearing covers was smashed, the upper aluminum trim was mounted badly and makes trailer look like the last foot or two of the trailer is bent because of severe misalignment. These trailers are cheaper priced than most others and I expected some flaws but was just shocked at the lack of skills or care. Maybe the employees are forced to build so fast that they cant use power tools or measuring devices, or maybe they don't know how, -not sure. It looked like everything was being built outside in a mud bog and maybe that's why nothing is close to straight. DO LISTEN TO THE YOUNG LADY UP FRONT WHEN SHE TELLS YOU TO CHECK LUG NUTS BEFORE LEAVING, because over half of mine were just finger tight when I checked before leaving the lot. These are all things that are just annoyances, if they bother you then you should look elsewhere and of course pay alot more money. I did pay extra for the thicker metal because I thought it wouldn't be as wavy but it still was, so save your money there. Do get a longer tongue (at least the 60'' or more upgrade). If I had not put deposit down and drove 13 hours to get it, I would have walked away, but........ On a positive note: this trailer pulled like a dream (26') and it didn't buck or bounce. I believe the frame and tongue are built good. The trailer does look nice from a distance and I can fix some stuff to hide the flaws. The inside I was satisfied with, they filled the knots and the seams with some caulk or wood filler stuff so it looked okay.

I do not recommend buying a trailer from here. The office staff is great but the workmanship of the trailers need some improvement! I bought a 4x6 enclosed trailer on 1/31/18 and brought it home to TN. After not using it for a couple of months I went to load it up and found water leaking inside and it had mold on the wood. I cleaned it up and after I thought I found where the leak was coming from I found it to be leaking again and mold starting to grow again. I found a section on the roof that was not sealed causing water to enter the inside. I again cleaned and dried the inside out again. I called the company to find out how to handle getting the wood replaced that was damaged by the water. They said for me to bring it in and they will replace the damaged wood which is fine but I live 8hrs away so that is out of the question and when I asked if I can just bring it to a local place and have them billed for the work they told me that they can't do that because an outside place may raise the price for parts and labor. So yesterday I had to change the wheel on the trailer and all of the wheel studs (which are just bolts slightly welded to the hub) all the welds broke so I had to replace all of the welded bolts with correct parts. I have not contacted them about the bolts due to the poor warranty service that they offered me prior.

I ordered a custom trailer from Plain Ole Trailers. When it was ready I had to go to South Georgia Cargo as they build the trailers. I paid cash for the trailer. When they brought it around and it was checked the ez tracks were all in the wrong place. We refused to accept this trailer. They would not refund my money claiming they had already deposited it. We had driven 600 miles to pick up this trailer. They stated they would build me another and have it ready on Monday. They gave me a free spare tire (90$) for my 1200 mile overnight trip. This didn't even cover the hotel room. I called Monday morning to let them know I would be there Tuesday at lunch to pick up my trailer. *** informed me they had forgotten to build it. I told her I would be there Tuesday and I either wanted my trailer or my cash. She hung up on me. I finally reached the salesman at Plain Ole Trailer. He assured me the trailer would be ready. It is obvious that the trailer was thrown together. Screws Not screwed all the way in,metal tracks out of line, plywood cut crooked. Unknown to me the roof caulking was still wet when we left and bubbled up. When I called them they sent me two tubes of caulking. I had too pay someone to fix their mess. I had to have the trailer then or I would have refused it. Two 1200 mile round trips two hotel bills and my trailer is half assed. I have pictures of the shoddy workmanship. I do not suggest you buy from these people. They build trailers for several companies so do your homework before you order.
