Customer returned purchased engine complaining that the head gasket was blown Said engine was replaced with another, although head gasket issue could not be verified Customer returned second engine complaining of an engine knock Upon inquiring as to who installed the engines and diagnosed the engine knock, it was ascertained that the repairs were made by a non-certified mechanic who lacked sufficient knowledge and ability to properly install the engine Customer was advised to take engine to an ASA certified mechanic for installation Customer was also offered to exchange engine, at no additional cost, for one that has not been removed from wrecked vehicle, but can still be run so as to verify operating condition of the engineAwaiting customer's decision.All engines are pre-tested prior to removal from wrecked vehicle and verified operationalOnly engines that can be tested and verified are sold for replacement purposes, All others are sold as scrap
It is not standard practice to provide mileage information unless specifically requested by customer and then it is so noted on the invoice. There is no indication that this customer requested mileage data or was provided such information at time of purchase.However, even though the customer failed to comply with the printed instructions by having an unqualified individual install the product, South High is most interested in the ultimate satisfaction of its customer. Therefore, a check in the amount of $347.50 has been issued and will be mailed to customer within three days of this date.

I am rejecting this response because:I was told they only sell engines and transmissions from cars purchased from an insurance company after a wreck, because that is the only way they could verify it was in working order. They never asked me to take the car to a specific mechanic. Had they done so they could have been given the credentials. I paid a mechanic twice to install/remove their bad engine, the last time only doing so because of South High Salvage first guaranteeing they had just got the car from insurance wreckage and verifying it ran, then when confronted them this engine was knocking being told to
